Thanks. I am just about to plant my first blueberry and raspberry plants. I bought compact varieties intended for patio growing and I will be growing them in containers. I got blueberry jellybean and raspberry shortcake plants.

@@beesandseeds then the battle is protecting them well enough that I get some of the fruit and it doesn't all go to birds and chipmunks.

We have tried to grow blueberries so many times. Ph is our enemy here, for our potatoes too. The potatoes get scab because we are too alkaline. I finally got a blueberry to come back last year but I’m not sure it has survived this last winter yet.

My kids lived in Nebraska during college and the soil is alkaline there too. Makes it hard to grow somethings. Hope it made it through!
