      @motorcycleden 13 дней назад

      Thanks! Yeah, pulling the fairing off does add a little difficulty to it. I was on the fence, but so many people mentioned how the polyurethane bushings introduced vibration that they didn't feel prior, which was the last thing I wanted on long rides. Honestly, I've had the bike out twice now, and I think the movement feels the exact same as with the stock bars. I had purchased HD brand poly bushings, but I know several mentioned there's a difference just between the different brands. What did you like about the polyurethane over the stock ones?

    • @rollinstone1969
      @rollinstone1969 13 дней назад

      @@motorcycleden I had a problem where my bars moved when I pulled the bike backwards to get out of the garage. I thought it was the bars moving in the clamp, when I took the fairing off o could see the whole clamp rock (not a lot) so I replaced the bushings to try that. Been good since. And a little bonus is the bike is more responsive to bar input. I have a pic of the old bushings on my IG I think. The vibration is not enough to worry about to me.

    Now im confused.. i watched a different video that said do not move, stay in line with the bike. • @MrsDen
      @MrsDen 13 дней назад

      Always stay with your rider. Your shoulders should always line up with his. If he leans, you lean. You won’t be that big rock if you are leaning with him. If you need to move, tell him first. Need to adjust your legs, lean back, lean forward, tell him before you move and never do it in corners. If you are riding on a straight road, you can move but still check with him because he can see things you can’t. Maybe a corner is coming up, or there is something in the road he needs to get around. May I ask what video you are referring to? Maybe I can answer you better if I know exactly what the video says.

      Hello. What bike are you on? With a cruiser or sport touring bike, If you sit more upright, closer to him ( not lounging back against backrest) it’s easier to engage your legs to control sliding around, without wearing your legs out. Also keep your hands on his hips, you will feel him starting to move before you are actually moving. The more you ride the easier it is. Another thing-is he cleaning the seat? The cleaners do make it slippery and will calm down with time. Hope this helps. Let me know

    • @motorcycleden
      @motorcycleden 28 дней назад

      @kirkasplin776 I haven't ridden the '24 yet, but want to. I sat on the '24 Road Glide and it's more of a relaxed seating position than our 2020. I was wondering if they would change the Road Glide Limited for next year. A salesman at a local dealership said they are phasing out the limiteds. Not sure if that's true. I think he was trying to sell us a new Road Glide. Choosing between the two can be tough. We had an '18 UL and both styles are great bikes. With the Mrs, she said the airflow was better for her on the RGL.

    • @kirkasplin776
      @kirkasplin776 28 дней назад

      @@motorcycleden wow I can't imagine them phasing them out. That'd be horrible. I was thinking maybe they'd change the RG Limited front end to the same as the 24 road glide. But the reason I'm waiting is more funds related 😄.

    • @motorcycleden
      @motorcycleden 28 дней назад

      @kirkasplin776 I was thinking the same thing, that Harley may change to the newer style RG & SG on the Limiteds. The one thing I think would happen is they do away with the Limiteds and then if someone wants the extras that came with them, they'd have to purchase it separately. You know how much more that would cost! When we looked at new RG, they were telling us the prices to add a trunk and other things. Let's just say it wasn't cheap.

    • @jonathandantonio649
      @jonathandantonio649 8 дней назад

      @kirkasplin776 The Ultra is the looker, but the RGL is the superior motorcycle. The fixed fairing makes handling better at all speeds, and at night it improves visibility in the corners noticeably as the headlight points straight ahead instead of turning with the bars as you counter steer and lean in. I have a '24; it's simply an awesome machine. I traded in a '19 Road King that had been my dream bike (and was nicely upgraded for comfort, performance, safety, and reliability) but now that I have the Limited there is simply no going back. I've ridden almost every bike that Harley makes (and have owned 4 M8 bikes) and I'd even take this over the Street Glide and Road Glide CVOs. Also, the upgraded Rockford Fosgate system is dynamite, if pricey. Get it if you can afford it.

    I may have had a an addition to riding when when we where getting 15-20k in a year and that was mostly local riding but not so much any more 😂 I am at over 5k since the engine build and I think I got that back a couple three month ago 😀 I do not think you have an addiction at all lets call it a passion 🙂 RSMF my friend.

    My wife has became addicted to ordering aftermarket parts for her new Harley. Everytime I go in the carport, she has added something new, and being a good husband all I can ask her is (did you use locktite when you put the bolts in it 😃👍

    Not sure if I’m addicted or not. Just had my 1K done and I’m going out tomorrow. That’s what’s great about being retired and now I drive a school bus so I have summers off to ride. Unless it’s too hot like it has been. 😂😂😂

    I actually had two.. Cigs and sugar, and both caused withdraws. Cigs I had help using Chantix, but the sugar was going from regular Pepsi to diet Pepsi. Yes I drink a lot of pepsi, and I had the withdraws as well..

      @motorcycleden Месяц назад

      I used to smoke, and it can be very hard to stop. I truly believe people get addicted to sugar, and I'm probably one of them. I'm constantly craving something sweet to eat. Wasn't like that years ago, but the older I get, the harder it is to stay away from sweets. I heard doritos spent either millions or billions of dollars last year trying to find the right ingredients that would cause people to crave it. Basically trying to get people addicted to their snack. Now, that's second-hand information, so I don't know if it's true or not.

    I had a Mustang solo on my street glide with a pillon for the rider. Absolutely loved it. However on my 23 road glide, I went with the Harley sundowner. So far, after 2000 miles, it feels good. That being said, it is not as comfortable as my Mustang solo with a backrest.

      @motorcycleden Месяц назад

      Does the sundowner sit you up any higher than stock?

      @Rick92153 Месяц назад

      @@motorcycleden quite honestly I couldn’t tell you as I never used the stock seat. I had a 2 thousand dollar credit when I bought the bike and had the sundowner installed prior to me picking up the bike. I have as of yet taken any long trips but prior to doing so I will install a backrest so that may improve my experience.

    I’m sure they’re comfortable, but one of the main reasons I wear gear is protection, and these have no sliders or padding or even reinforcement patches, which is very disappointing. Hopefully being high quality thick leather they’d be a little better than sliding on or catching a rock with your bare hands/knuckles, but I can’t imagine by much.

    • @motorcycleden
      @motorcycleden Месяц назад

      That is a small concern for me, too. I think they'd do a decent job of holding up unless you're sliding on your hands for an extended length. Hopefully, I don't have to find out.

    Two years ago in Allegheny National Forest at 4:30 PM in 90* heat in July a buck ran out of the woods and broadsided us. I had no time to react? Bike was totaled. I broke 4 ribs, wife and I had lots of road rash. She's never riding again. After a year I bought another bike and just rode 500 miles round trip to see my brother. Instead of the turnpike I took Route 30 over all the mountains!!! Screw the deer 🦌 (my head was really on a swivel though!)

    • @motorcycleden
      @motorcycleden Месяц назад

      Sorry to hear that happened to you guys. It makes no sense to me why a deer does that, but we watched one run clear across a golf course and intentionally hut the side of a van. Had to scared the people in the vehicle. It was a big buck and crushed the side of the van in. Glad to hear you got another bike and I'm sure you're extremely alert watching for deer.

    I have a buttonless FOB. I wonder how you cut the alarm off. :o

    • @motorcycleden
      @motorcycleden Месяц назад

      Our FOB doesn't have any buttons either. The pager I purchased for the alarm does, though. The alarm itself is silent (at least on the later models). Now Harley makes you purchase the siren if you want it, and it works in conjunction with the alarm. It's my understanding that once the FOB is close enough to the bike, the alarm will stop.
