It's always cool checking out the old Penitentiaries. We have been to the Ohio Penitentiaries a few times for the regular guided self tours and also during the Halloween season. You guys will have to check it out if you get the chance 🙂
i have the 8 and it came with the GoPro branded dual charger with 3 batteries and a short usb C cable. it has worked flawlessly. i can’t speak for any off brand chargers (or batteries). tip: once fully charged, remove from charger otherwise they will slow drain.
Thanks for the video! We have been to the Ohio Reformatory in Mansfield, and Moundsville Prison in WV. We are heading down to Tellico Plains, TN in 2 weeks and we are thinking about stopping here. We haven't decided yet for sure.
We haven't been to either of those prisons but want to at some point. That should be a nice trip! If you do go, make sure you watch the short video they offer. Frozen head state park (right by the prison) was cool to ride back and see, but the trails are pretty long there. The waterfall we walked to was small but nice and not a long trail. Not sure if it would be flowing this time of year, though. Not much else to do there unless you're into hiking.
@@motorcycleden I love Shawshank Redemption movie so the Mansfield prison is very cool. They don't allow filming though, so no content opportunity. We are leaning towards not stopping just because we have seen 2 prisons lately and for travel/timing purposes. But you never know, it's not that far out of the way.
@twowheelbuckeyes Shawshank is a great movie! I get having to choose due to time restrictions. Time always seems to be the biggest hurdle when on a trip. Once we retire, it won't be, but then it will be money. Lol
Tell Mrs Den they have overnight stays at the Mansfield if she every wants to. Supposed to be haunted. We just spent the night in a jail that had Ben turned into a B&B
Looked like a nice ride, but that's a destination I'll skip, like the insane asylum that was part of one of the WV tours that Mario (2 Wheeled Rider) did a couple years ago. Stockade? No. You don't know a whipping post when you see one?
It's beautiful down there. I'll have to check out 2 Wheeled Rider's video. I realized it was a whipping post, but used the wrong terminology. Lol From what we seen it was a pretty rough prison.
I forget what year Mario had that place on the tour, he's done several "Wild and Wonderful Weekend" trips but I've never been able to join one with my schedule being what it is, so I've just done a couple on my own when I could (oddly enough, you folks were in the same area around the same time each time, maybe we can meet up on a future one; last May I joined NC Stoney and a couple of his buddies). Some things just kind of stand out when you see them; there's a church in downtown DC just a few blocks from the White House, along New York Avenue, and I was walking along and noticed a post about two-and-a-half feet tall near the edge of the sidewalk. I though, 'That looks like a hitching post." So I went over and looked. Sure enough, a small plaque affixed to it said, "Abraham Lincoln's hitching post"!
Great video, shank Shaw! Love it !
Thanks! It's usually me who says things wrong. Lol
Been there. Awesome place and a fantastic ride getting there👍🏼
So true! Beautiful area to ride and hopefully can get back down there later this year. Check out some different roads.
0:59 Shawshank Redemption was a great movie, and an even better book!!!
Great movie
Seen the movie, but never read the book
@@motorcycleden so much more in depth in the book, but this movie did a great job of following the book. Both are great!!
Cool tour, thank you
It was very cool to see
Thanks for checking it out

It was good to see the prison and hear the stories about it. We want to see the one in Ohio but haven't had the time. One day😁
Nice day for a ride 🏍️ The food looks good. Geez those D block jail cells look real hard core, a bit like Alcatraz.
The food was pretty good. I know! Definitely wouldn't want to end up there. It was cool to see
Hotel Bushy Mountain. You can check-out any time you like but you can never leave!"
Very true lol James Earl Ray who shot Martin Luther King Jr was held there
@@MrsDen WOW learn something new every day
Lol. That's what I was thinking while we were going in there.

Thanks! I've looked at the Gopro dual charger, maybe I'll pick that up
Pretty interesting lol
It was cool going thru it. They had a short film about the prison telling all about it

The ghost or a person ? Lol

Person!!
Great Movie!👍
You may have! They had a little movie to watch telling the story about the place. Some of the ex prisoners were in the film
“Hey Mrs. Den, want to out to eat? Let’s go to prison” That’s a romantic day out!😂😂😂
He is a romance ninja!!! ❤🎉

😅😂🤣
I'm all about romance and there's nothing more romantic than a trip on the motorcycle 😁
@@motorcycleden See, that’s what I’ve been telling my wife!!!
Kidding aside, that’s a pretty cool place to check out! Would you ever consider spending a night there? Might be pretty scary….
They do have paranormal tours and some are overnight. Not sure I'd want to do that
@@motorcycleden Ditto!!
👍👍
It was pretty cool to see the prison and hear the story from some of the inmates and guards.
😎👍👍
Thanks for watching!

I'm not sure she would do that. Lol They have overnight paranormal tours at this one too. That B&B would be a cool place to stay.
@@motorcycleden the “front” was the sheriff’s house in quarters. That’s the part that was the b&b. After breakfast she took us a tour of the old jail
@@Mr.McStache Nice!
No haunted tours for me.
@@MrsDen you don’t really buy that junk do you lol

She did mention something about leaving me there. Lol
Hahaha!
Are the batteries all the same with GoPro, I used my brother's max and he had 6 extras and two 3 slot chargers. I can find out more for you
I think so, but not sure. Wow, that's a lot of batteries. We only have 2. Lol
