LBW Adventures
Австралия
Добавлен 23 окт 2021
Well it possibly started off as a mid-life crisis, an adventure we should have had in our 20's, but both turning 40 during lockdown, we realised freedom to travel is not guaranteed, so it was time to start exploring!
Selling our home, we purchased a caravan and took to the road for two years, spending the first year in Western Australia and the second in the Eastern states. We had a blast, but found ourselves sea-side looking at the vast openness, so a new plan was hatched. In 2024, our third year of travelling we swapped the caravan for a sailing catamaran.
Join us as we explore Australia, learn to sail from scratch, and share the highlights & lowlights of living at sea.
To make life more interesting we are both plant based eaters and lovers of animals, so we'll share the experience of travelling Australia walking into a pub asking for a non-alcoholic drink and a meal that doesn't include meat!

After our encounter with a large Kimberley’s croc a few episodes back, we decided to try our luck at a very famous, very remote and very hard to get into anchorage named ‘Crocodile Creek’, and boy was it worth the effort. An anchorage like no other, we rafted up and held on, as 7 meters of water went out from under us and left us trapped in a puddle until the next full tide. But it wasn’t all t...

Jeepies. Tanz is on crock and rock watch. At the start of the vid you had us worried if he moved his legs any wider while working on electrics we would be on c*ck watch. Good stuff guys, keep it going
Wow. That place really is paradise. It's a pity you're finding a number of issues with your vessel. It almost suggests that a previous owner wasn't very good at maintaining his gear. DYI can be Sub standard with some folk. But, you're getting on top if it. 😊 thanks uou two
Enjoying the show.
Thank you 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Rookies you may but full respect for living your dream. Just keep at it and you will achieve it all🤙
Thank you🙌🙌🙌🙌 we know it will be worth it in the end. Like they say, nothing good comes easy!!!! Thanks for watching 👍
Flippin heck, you guys sure finding a few problems as you travel. Hope all wiring sorted for f and f and you can store your TT2s. Safe trip into Broome.
Hahah yes it seemed that way for quite a few weeks but we slowly got better at leaving the drama behind 😜😜😜 there were days we were selling the boat for sure… luckily the good out weighed the bad! Thanks for watching
Well that is dark . Rod Stewart singing sailing as well lol.
It was soooo dark!!! Thankfully the other boat was smart enough to turn on their anchor light otherwise I have no idea how we would have found the boat 😬😬😬😬😬. Thanks for the message
Can't wait till get stuck into that wiring 😂
Hahah it’s a hell of a birds nest. I think the first thing will be getting rid of all the stuff that does nothing that has been left there over the last 20 years 😬😬😬😝
What happened to the Fridge did u get it working still having probs
It wasn’t getting enough power so Chris changed the wiring to bigger cables.…. Luckily we had some onboard 🙌🙌🙌🙌
You are both learning new skills each day stay safe all the best Ron
Yes we are on a very steep learning curve, but thats all part of enjoying life. We just want to have fun while not getting ourselves into too much trouble! Thanks as always for watching
Loving your videos and your honesty is truely amazing. Showing all the tough parts of learning to sail and your frustrations. Thank you for sharing your amazing experience.
Thanks for watching. There are def challenges along the way especially as we learn, but the flip side is an amazing way to enjoy life 🙌🙌🙌🙌
i don't understand how people use microwaves... i through my out and used it for a shelf
We always used it to defrost etc, but don’t have one now… not because we didn’t want it, but because we don’t have room 🥲😱
How cool is that?! Even better getting it to yourselves too!
Yer pretty awesome ah!!!!! Was so cool there
Great navigation skills there, team. What an amazing spot.
We had a moment of 'freaking out' when we first came around the corner to see how small the space was, but once we calmed down and concentrated, all was good and we got safely tied up. Not sure what would have happened if there were already other boats in there though 😬
That Is spectacular!
We’re thinking of going back… maybe u’ll have to come next time
@@LBWAdventures count me in
What a magic spot!!
@@tristanhali8252 insane ah!!!!!!!
Awesome, was lucky to visit silver gull in the early 2000’s when the couple were there.
Oh wow that would have been awesome. There looked to be a caretaker or something there in a tent but we didn’t want to be nosey and didn’t see anyone moving around
Nice got to say your camera isn't as sharp as normal.
Oh I didn’t notice… not sure why that would be as no settings have changed… only difference is loosing the last mic 😝🙃
yes that water is safe to drink from the hose. a great spot to top up your tanks
Ah that's good to know. Such a great thing to find when you are out in the middle of no where!!!!! Thanks for the comment :)
Iron dirt in them there hills, magic country that. Coffee for the win, sleep later🤙.
Hahah yip, plenty up there to keep those iron dirt ships running 😝😝😝 Crazy beautiful place ah. With the tides being so large, it makes for some stunning scenery full of super intense colours 😍
Wow, what an interesting place.
Stunning wasn’t it. Chris had a bit of a freak out when we first turned the corner and saw the little dead-end pool, but he got us tied up safe and sound. Happy we went there that’s for sure! Thanks for watching 🙌
Fabulous Tania, living the dream.
Thanks, definitely trying to give it our best go 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

V nice so calm out there had to laugh everyone had the same hairstyle going through the gap.
@@deanissit yer it didn’t really show the speed we were travelling through until I turned the camera on us and we were all being basted by the wind 😝😝😝😝😝
I'm glad you're still here. No RUclips updates for a couple of weeks. I've been checking the news looking for crocodiles have 2 tasty kiwi vegans for dinner. Enjoying your adventures 😅😅😅😅😅.
Hahah oh yer that would have been the ultimate cliff hanger 😝😝😝😝🐊. No we were just moving a lot and it was a bit too rough to sit at a computer without 🤮!!!!
Great video guys you where all alone then at the reef you had boats every where it's a pity that you can't go through the small gap any more all the best Ron
@@ronrogers9610 yer it was a bit surreal going from seeing no one for weeks and then to have people and boats everywhere!!!!!! Yes it was a shame, there was an accident there in 2022 so I think the rules changed after that. Will be a shame when you can’t go through at all. Thanks as always for the message
She is a smoke show 😅. Great video really nice set up.
Hahah thanks. Yer we are really happy with it as she is, but do have plans to make some mods. Thanks for watching 😀
@@LBWAdventures that’s awesome! Look forward to following and seeing more 😅🤙
had so much fun growing up in Whyalla, been in Darwin last 40 yrs even better
This year was our first trip to Darwin, and we actually quite enjoyed it. Not sure what it would be like in the peak of the heat season, but was a nice break from the cold of perth
Contact Australia Zoo.
We went to Aust zoo last year, was a great day out, and yes they had bigger crocs there, but they were behind barriers so didn't seem as intimidating 🐊😜
@@LBWAdventures DARWIN CROCOSAUROUS COVE.
That croc was stalking you for feed!
It sure felt like that, and as we had no meat on the boat, that only left us 😬😬
You need some chafe protection sleeve you can even get it in a heat shrink version now braided cable sleeve
Yes, 100% agree with you! Once we get back to the land of shops we will be purchasing that to add to the tool box 🙌🧰
That was only a midsized crocodile they get Much bigger. 😅 a pair of gates made from old trawler net will stop one boarding 😅
If that was mid-size, we are very happy not to have meet a big one, that was plenty big and friendly enough for our liking!!!!! We will def look into some kind of way to protect the sugar scoops in the future if we head back to the Kimberley's 😜
start with a simple eye splice if you want to learn how to splice
I think we are starting to get the hang of it now!!! We have managed to splice most of the old ropes now to make it easier to tie off, a couple are a little tight, but all part of the learning 😜
The croc probably smelled a kiwi and took off. 😮😮😮😮
Hahah it seemed he had the opposite in mind and that only made him come closer 😜😜
Croc's have been known to climb.
I think it was lucky that we didn't know that at the time, but yes we have since found out that them coming up onto boats is something that actually can happen 🐊👀😬😱
Perfect start to your splicing. You've done well. Could be a tad tighter, but great work. Starting, 2 strands go one way and one stand goes the other way.
Thank you, yer but the end of the fourth one it was getting a lot better but thanks for the note on the starting element, and of course thanks for watching 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Sharks,Crocks ,flying fish, and they all want to sail with you.
Hahah well I think they can all stay in the water as I’m not a fan of any of those things 😬😬😬😝😝😝😝😝😝. Thanks for watching
drop crock lol got to love the K1s, yes he was telling you this is his place, 4mtrs yes 100% try to get onto the boat that much transom yes he could but know he wouldn't.Ok why my comments, well ive lived where the real ones live and never had a problem after SHE qatacked a localWHO knew better than to gross the greek where he did yum yum crock time, as a norm as you experienced that WILL NOT come onto the boat, so enjoy any interaction with them but yes it wants to eat you so respect them please. Ok your splicing will do very nicely, get a spike and life will become easier not easy but easier, ok sorry I should of said I hold a master class 4 med 2 I used to work out of cairns, Darwin and Sydney that's my background. ok made me laugh but loving your channel keep it up.👌👍🤙
Oh my goodness 😱. Yes we are a lot more careful since that experience as I’m sure he would have happily eaten one or both of us if the opportunity presented! Oh we quite enjoyed Darwin for the month or so we were there when we brought the boat!!!! Thanks heaps for the comment and of course for watching!!!
Really enjoyed the vid guys but hey that Croc was a bit cheeky🤣
Thanks ray, yes a little closer and less scared of us than we thought, but very happy we learnt to respect him in the yacht and didn’t meet him in the dingy 😬😬😬😜😜🤣
Inflatable dinghies and things with sharp teeth???????????????????
Hahah yes we had been warned to always lift the dingy at night to prevent waking and finding it flat with teeth holes 🐊😬😜
Never smile at a crocodile……that would have been freaky- prefer flying stinky fish
Hahah yer it was certainly a night unlike any others 😝😝😝 that fish stunk pretty bad but I guess at least it wouldn’t eat us 🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊😬😬😬😝😝😝
Pretty sure it was a pike and they do pong a bit
Ahhh thank you. I just google that and that is what it looked like!!!!!! Thank you! We have never known a fish to smell so bad while it’s still alive 🤮
