Perfect start to your splicing. You've done well. Could be a tad tighter, but great work. Starting, 2 strands go one way and one stand goes the other way.
Thank you, yer but the end of the fourth one it was getting a lot better but thanks for the note on the starting element, and of course thanks for watching 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thanks ray, yes a little closer and less scared of us than we thought, but very happy we learnt to respect him in the yacht and didn’t meet him in the dingy 😬😬😬😜😜🤣
Hey Steve, 100% on our shopping list when we finally make it to anywhere with a boating supplies shop 🙌🙌. All of these things we didn't think of before we left Darwin 😬😫. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching 😀
If that was mid-size, we are very happy not to have meet a big one, that was plenty big and friendly enough for our liking!!!!! We will def look into some kind of way to protect the sugar scoops in the future if we head back to the Kimberley's 😜
drop crock lol got to love the K1s, yes he was telling you this is his place, 4mtrs yes 100% try to get onto the boat that much transom yes he could but know he wouldn't.Ok why my comments, well ive lived where the real ones live and never had a problem after SHE qatacked a localWHO knew better than to gross the greek where he did yum yum crock time, as a norm as you experienced that WILL NOT come onto the boat, so enjoy any interaction with them but yes it wants to eat you so respect them please. Ok your splicing will do very nicely, get a spike and life will become easier not easy but easier, ok sorry I should of said I hold a master class 4 med 2 I used to work out of cairns, Darwin and Sydney that's my background. ok made me laugh but loving your channel keep it up.👌👍🤙
Oh my goodness 😱. Yes we are a lot more careful since that experience as I’m sure he would have happily eaten one or both of us if the opportunity presented! Oh we quite enjoyed Darwin for the month or so we were there when we brought the boat!!!! Thanks heaps for the comment and of course for watching!!!
I think it was lucky that we didn't know that at the time, but yes we have since found out that them coming up onto boats is something that actually can happen 🐊👀😬😱
I think we are starting to get the hang of it now!!! We have managed to splice most of the old ropes now to make it easier to tie off, a couple are a little tight, but all part of the learning 😜
Hey Paula, Although it flew into us, it was def not the normal flying fish as it had no wings, but it was 100% stinky like you mentioned haha🤮. Thanks for the comment and for watching 🙌
Ahhh thank you. I just google that and that is what it looked like!!!!!! Thank you! We have never known a fish to smell so bad while it’s still alive 🤮
Oh hahah yer well I think we have a very real appreciation for how sneaky and big they are and we will def be keeping our fingers and toes out of the water from now on!!!!!!!! Thanks for watching
We went to Aust zoo last year, was a great day out, and yes they had bigger crocs there, but they were behind barriers so didn't seem as intimidating 🐊😜

Thanks for watching. There are def challenges along the way especially as we learn, but the flip side is an amazing way to enjoy life 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Ah ha. The old flying stink fish trying to evade the crocodile. That was funny. 😅😊
Yer we realised after that it was prob trying to get away from something big down there, possibly even the visitor we had show up not long after 😬😬😬😬
Sharks,Crocks ,flying fish, and they all want to sail with you.
Hahah well I think they can all stay in the water as I’m not a fan of any of those things 😬😬😬😝😝😝😝😝😝. Thanks for watching

The croc probably smelled a kiwi and took off. 😮😮😮😮
Hahah it seemed he had the opposite in mind and that only made him come closer 😜😜
That croc was stalking you for feed!
It sure felt like that, and as we had no meat on the boat, that only left us 😬😬
You need some chafe protection sleeve you can even get it in a heat shrink version now braided cable sleeve
Yes, 100% agree with you! Once we get back to the land of shops we will be purchasing that to add to the tool box 🙌🧰
Hairdresser approved plaiting chris 👏
Hahah I told him it was just fancy plaiting 😜🤣
Really enjoyed the vid guys but hey that Croc was a bit cheeky🤣
Thanks ray, yes a little closer and less scared of us than we thought, but very happy we learnt to respect him in the yacht and didn’t meet him in the dingy 😬😬😬😜😜🤣
Buy a Fid and a Marlin spike to help with splicing, available from any yatching supplies shop.

You could have had a pet croc to travel with if it came aboard that would have been a good talking point stay safe all the best Ron
Hahah yer I think he was a bit large to be our friend 😝😝😝😝 def would have been a talking point though!!!!! 👍😜
That was only a midsized crocodile they get Much bigger. 😅 a pair of gates made from old trawler net will stop one boarding 😅

Croc's have been known to climb.
I think it was lucky that we didn't know that at the time, but yes we have since found out that them coming up onto boats is something that actually can happen 🐊👀😬😱
start with a simple eye splice if you want to learn how to splice
I think we are starting to get the hang of it now!!! We have managed to splice most of the old ropes now to make it easier to tie off, a couple are a little tight, but all part of the learning 😜
It was probably a flying fish. They always smell bad, alive or dead. Check the boat every morning and throw them back.

Yep just another Stink fish you will get plenty more of them
Oh is that what’s it’s called? If so it’s well named cause that was so nasty!!!!! Hopefully the rest of them stay in the water!!!!!💦
You thought the mouse in the caravan was bad, thats enoough to make me want to sell the boat.
Hahah yes very true!!!! The mouse at least just wanted to eat our food, not eat us as food 😝😝😬😬😬😜
Pretty sure it was a pike and they do pong a bit
Ahhh thank you. I just google that and that is what it looked like!!!!!! Thank you! We have never known a fish to smell so bad while it’s still alive 🤮
Great vid again. You need a big bang stick for the crocs. Something with a large calibre.
Oh hahah yer well I think we have a very real appreciation for how sneaky and big they are and we will def be keeping our fingers and toes out of the water from now on!!!!!!!! Thanks for watching
Never smile at a crocodile……that would have been freaky- prefer flying stinky fish
Hahah yer it was certainly a night unlike any others 😝😝😝 that fish stunk pretty bad but I guess at least it wouldn’t eat us 🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊😬😬😬😝😝😝

@@LBWAdventures DARWIN CROCOSAUROUS COVE.
Why not catch fish to eat ?
Just a personal choice as we don’t eat animals, but nothing against people who do, just not for us.
Did you know that Crocs have been known to climb up the sugar scoop on cats might pay to close the cabin doors at night
Well after that happened we did some googling and found that it was def a thing, so the door has been locked tight at night since then 😝😝😝😬😬😬
@@LBWAdventures I was only shitting u is that really a thing or pay back
@@terrysmith1307 hahah no 💯 a thing!!!! 😬😬😬😬😬😬😱😱😱😱😱😜
Inflatable dinghies and things with sharp teeth???????????????????
Hahah yes we had been warned to always lift the dingy at night to prevent waking and finding it flat with teeth holes 🐊😬😜
