Cedar Siding Cleaning (Soft Washing Wood)
This was our 3rd attempt to wash this Cedar siding on this house. We were able to wash a small portion of the siding3 months ago, and the area around the house has been prepped, and is ready for us to get it cleaned up. We used our Standard 1% SH house wash mix, followed by Oxalic Acid for the chems.

How large of a SH mix do your typical use on a house of thise size?
My mix gets me about 1k sq ft per 1 gal of SH.
Friend, how much can you charge for a job like that one in that house? Thanks, I'll wait for your answer.
This one was $520, but should have been closer to $600 at my pricing due to the conditions of the gutters. I hope this answers your question
Boo who
WOW that's bad!!!!!
Lol, not my worst. But I was feeling year 1 vibes a lot..
Good grief!!!!!
I agree!!
Sounds like you need a trip to the Bahamas for a long weekend.
Lol, the Bahamas sound too hot!! I would take a weekend in the mountains though!! Lol!!

Thanks for the great video! You downstreamed with the X-Jet and the Sharp Shooter, then rinsed with the X-Jet? Just learning the process. Thanks!
@@tomdayton3399 x jet makes a soap nozzle called the M5DS which is what I use for soap application. Then I rinse with the original XJET nozzle
@@steppspressurewashing Ah, I am so grateful you clarified this for me! I would have bought the wrong thing! I appreciate your taking the time to explain this!
@@tomdayton3399 happy to help!!
I have a bunch of Level-Eze, they are way cheaper and I love them. You are supposed to chop the end of your ladder off but you don't actually have to do that. With Level-Eze, you don't have to click the lever on the bottom; they just work opposite each other with a rod running through the bottom rung. Better in my opinion.
Never tried those.
What PSI do you usually run through your surface cleaner?
3k, so 1500 each nozzle
@@steppspressurewashing Would a pressure gauge before the surface cleaner read 1500 or 3000 in that case?
I would say 1500, I have never tried it with the SC. Just the 25 degree tip.
I can't wait to get the new trailer on the road!!
Thanks for watching!!
Very good show son
Thanks!!
Y'all be safe out there!!
But how do you know they are going to pay for those three words those add on things I do you know they’re not thinking it’s included in what year already there for, so how do you differentiate that without sounding like you’re just trying to Sale something?
These items are discussed before any work begins, so they have the opportunity to say yes. If I see something that needs to be cleaned, I will offer to clean it for a certain price "while I'm here". Basically attempting to add on a small service, but also add value for the customer. I have a minimum charge, and all of the while I'm here add ons are usually small stuff that would not be worth $125 to have me come back out.
@@steppspressurewashing thank you!
Clever feller
You’re a million percent correct sir! Easiest upsell worlds on earth! Let’s do It now while I’m here
Yep, $30 while I'm here or $125 for me to come back...

Does the xjet reduce pressure?

Thanks for this video. This is my 2nd summer in business. Around the middle of June my phone stopped ringing. I thought I had done something wrong. I so glad you posted this to let me it slows down during these months.

Is that guy your brother?
@@JohnStepp-sg6uh Not that I know of... Lol!!
Good grief son you sure did a good job on that green monster
I sure proud you are such a good child
With the belt or gear driven pump, how do you run your overflow tank? Are you just getting more power from it being belt/gear driven or is that belt also running something else at the same time? Sorry I know it sounds like a silly question. I've just never seen one of these setups up close. I have seen the belt driven pressure washers obviously.
So the belt and gear system actually reduces the rpm that is coming from the engine. The result is a slower speed of rotation of your pump, and way more torque. I don't know the exact science behind why the extra torque pulls water, but it does for some reason lol..
@@steppspressurewashing thanks I appreciate the reply.

How do you price gutter cleaning? Specifically, maintenance cleans?
@@aurorasoftwash I have a base price for a 1 story up to 1250sqft home with 2 straight gutters $99. From there I add an additional $15 per 500sqft and $50 per additional floor. There is also a $50 fee for impacted gutters, and additional cost if the gutter system is more complex needing more ladder placements. I.E. instead of a 50ft stretch of gutter line you have 2 10ft sections 4 5ft sections and 5 2ft sections.
@@aurorasoftwash I also offer discounted rates for those who elect multiple cleaning per year. I have one client that I do for $89 every 3 months. It's also takes 30 minutes because I do it every 3 months...
@@steppspressurewashing awesome, thanks for sharing! What do you mean by impacted gutters?
Do you have a personal vehicle or just use your work truck as a personal vehicle as well?
The work truck is my personal vehicle, so i do a lot of loading and unloading.. When i first started everything fit on the trailer, so this wasn't an issue. Thinking about a bigger trailer soon
U make sure you do every job correctly.
Hi I was wondering how it’s been so far with this setup? I’m curious what your pressure washer is and is the pump rpm 3400-3600? I have a belt fed but it’s 3400 rpm same as direct drive so the manufacturer says it does not pull from a tank.
Hey Anthony, I actually don't know what my RPMs are. But this setup has worked perfectly for me all year. The motor rpm should be the same whether it's Direct Drive or belt drive. But the belt gears should spin the pump at a lower rpm than a DD. Try pulling out of a 5 gallon bucket and a short hose. That might save you from needing the verticle tank.
Thanks for watching!!
How has your buffer tank been working with a direct drive pressure washer? Been thinking of installing a gravity-fed buffer tank to my direct drive unit. Is it worth it? Thank you!!
It has been amazing!! It feeds my pump without issue, and bypassing to the tank is a game changer. 10/10 highly recommend!! I just wish I could ride without emptying, but 50 gals fills up pretty quickly..
@@steppspressurewashing is there any more to it other then putting the tank above the washer? Could it work if it was level with washer?
@@AJK-3 no, I think as long as the water level is higher in the tank than the inlet for your pressure washer

When you are giving your clients "Arrival window" What hours do you typically use? And when you don't arrive in the beginning part of the window, Do you call your clients and let them know that you are running behind from a previous client, or do you just show up anytime during that arrival window?
I usually just give them a 2 hour window then call when I'm on my way with an exact time.
