    I see that when you upgraded to the larger trailer you still decided on one with a gate. I'd like to know you're thinking about that.

      I am planning on adding an aluminum sign to the gate. I did try to negotiate a lower price without the gate, but it was only a $75 difference.. So i figured just keep it, and throw a sign on it

      That's my thinking too. Glad to see that you think the same.@@steppspressurewashing

    I painted the wood on my 6x12 trailer with outdoor deck paint. It stands up to the SH so far. I think most people want leg tanks because they look better and there's less sloshing of water. I went with two 65 gallon leg tanks plumbed together. The water inlet and float valve are in the rear tank and the front tank has the feed line to the PW and the return line. When its pulling water its pulling from both tanks so I get the benefits of having 130 gallon capacity. I got a truck bed tool box off of FB market place for $75 and mounted it at the front to hold all my extra stuff, tools and some chemicals etc. If you buy a IBC tote be sure to get one that only had bleach in it if possible and be very picky about condition. The one I got for $50 was a one time use for bleach and it showed. It looked brand new. You will be getting a larger SH tank next year and it will pay for itself when your swamped with jobs. Not having to go get chems and just move to the next job is a game changer. Be religious about your trailer bearings and keeping them inspected and greased. My new trailer had less than 300 miles on it and had been greased but I still lost a bearing which damaged the spindle and cost me over $200 to replace. I replace my bearings every year now which is overkill but I'm not getting in that situation again. I also keep a new hub with bearings installed and greased for emergency repairs. Last point and Im sure youve thought of this but the gate of that trailer is a good place for a big banner to advertise on. I mounted mine on a piece of plywood painted in the deck paint to seal it and I added some flashing yellow/white LED's as a safety device for when parked on the road. Glad to see your business is growing 👍👍

      Thanks for the detailed comment AK!! Do you run an 8gpm with the 130 buffer?? I'm ready for another tank for SH... Luckily the place I got my trailer also services them, so i already know where I'm going to keep it maintained!!

      @@steppspressurewashing Im still using a 5.5 since for what I do is all residential and its plenty. Im not going after those big commercial jobs since I have a full time job and just do this in the mornings and on weekends. Small business but I try to run it like its huge so when I retire I can just do PW whenever I want and have the reputation and experience to get plenty of jobs.

    Hell yeah, it's good seeing grow and making moves. I'm sure when you get that 8 gpm machine, it's going to feel like christmas. Lol

    Not to be a bummer but I own a lawn service also. As soon as I moved up to a 6X12 within 6 weeks I blew the transmission. Truck only had 83K on it and was babied since I bought it new. So I now have a RAM 1500. You're definitely going to need a bigger truck with a larger tote. An 8 GPM needs a 100 gallon tote minimum, that's 833.33lbs itself. Great build!

      Thanks Jerry!! Dang that's terrible!! What truck did you have that lost the transmission? I'm hoping to keep my frontier until at least 2028... Might need to upgrade sooner...

    I’m in the process of moving my setup from my truck bed to a 6x12 trailer I already owned. Picked up an immaculate IBC tote from a friend that farms for free. I filled it 4 times to rinse it out good. Keep up the good work and great content!

    Nice job looks great! Would you add a softwash to the trailer?

      That is definitely on my list for sooner than later! At minimum I am thinking a small transfer pump.

    I noticed that you still have the original DSI that came with the washer attached. Doesn't that draw air into the line when downstreaming due to the venturi effect?. Wouldn't it be better to either remove it or seal it off some way?

    • @steppspressurewashing
      @steppspressurewashing  3 месяца назад +1

      Its possible that it draws a bit of air, but I have never noticed. I have always had a build in dsi, and never had any issues leaving it open..

    Because of space limitations that I have I've decided to go with a tandem 6x12 trailer. My truck is a Honda Ridgeline which is similar in size to your Nissan Frontier. I was curious on the type of hitch that you needed for your truck. Is it a straight receiver to hook up to the coupler or did you need to purchase a receiver with a drop?

    • @steppspressurewashing
      @steppspressurewashing  Месяц назад +1

      @@Lostintime31 6x12 is still a pretty nice size!! And I'm loving the tandem axle. I have a drop receiver because it was free with the trailer. But when more weight goes on the trailer I will have to switch to straight. What is the towing cap on your Ridgeline?
