Actually Sin Princess was the original Love Boat followed by Island Princess then Pacific Princess! I had the fortune to sail on both Island and Pacific Princess!

I always wondered why she was named Cunard Princess? Was it a dig against Princess Cruises ships?

I sailed on her when she was Royal Viking Sky for a trip to no where out of New York in the mid 80's That Sunday we sailing down the Long Island Sound, surrounded by all the Weekend pleasure craft. when a cigarette type speed boat thought it be fun to cross the ship's wake, On one pass the boat did a backflip . Of course the ship stopped to help, but there was so many boats around they rescued the driver of the speed boat. The ship itself was beautiful!

Amazing how high the standard of service and food and entertainment was on those RC Ships I was lucky enough to have travel on them even up to the voyager class ships just once , the beginning of the massive ships and the massive changes in standards .

The days of Royal Caribbean, the only thing that's royal about them today is the size of their ships.

An insightful video of 1990s CUNARD. They have progressed even further so well since. The brand has been enhanced. My favorite cruise line. Their safety at sea is legendry. They are the 'real thing'. They invented ocean travel.

This was fascinating. My impression was ‘May we drain your wallet Sir? Voyage with us, nip back on Concorde to have your Bentley waiting to whisk you to one of many Châteaux??’ Cunard in this time was uber expensive and an indulgence of the well-heeled. Unfortunately this model was never going to see the company survive so it had to evolve to meet more egalitarian tastes. Thankfully it has. It still has that certain something, but the elitism has disappeared thankfully. Now the company thrives as it needs to do. Whilst QE2 and Caronia were nice ships, they were both well past their prime by 1999 when this was filmed. I remember seeing QE2 really close up in port one time around then and she looked really tired. I have sailed with Cunard and will do a transatlantic soon on Queen Mary 2. We loved our previous experience and are looking forward to the next. Cunard is not as ‘stuffy’ as portrayed here…

While the ships look beautiful, I think it is way too fancy for my taste. My husband and I thought about doing a transatlantic on Cunard, then did some research on the line. It isn't our style, but I am sure it is wonderful for others.

I took my first cruise on her in early 1997, Southern Caribbean just as shown in this video. It was a college graduation gift from my parents who went with me, though they'd been on several cruises already. This video stirred happy memories of that trip. I thought the ship was so beautiful and spacious. The first night as the ship sailed out of San Juan, I had my first pina colada from the Crown Lounge. The meals were all in the main dining room at the same table all week, so your waiter and assistant waiter came to know and serve you well. I had my first martini at the Captain's welcome, they were complimentary. The shows were awesome, on my cruise Bowser from Sha na na was the celebrity guest. It was a very impressive experience for me, and has made me a fan ever since.

I traveled on this ship when it was the Transvale Castle in the sixties when it belonged to Union Castle and also traveled on the Windsor Castle slightly bigger most beautiful ship with unbelievable food and service and crew .

Yes it used to be this way before the big American corporations took them over .It was fine in the beginning.

We sailed in CostaRiviera in 87, we had such a wonderful time. This video seems so dated... The ship was so simple.. no crazy water slides etc.. Just beautiful wide decks and flashy lounges and a nice conncection to the ocean.. She was outclassed by the newer vessels with their balconies and such, but what a wonderful classic ship she was... <3

miss this fella 😞 while the newer larger ships are certainly beautiful, smaller ships like inspiration hold a special place in my heart. sucks that most of the fantasy class got scrapped

The ship was Finnish owned and this must be the reason why cheese by Valio, a Finnish company, appears on the video. The adventure of Rederi AB Sally and following its collapse of EffJohn International to the US cruise market was a financial disaster.

I did the Maiden Voyage on this ship back in 1984. I am an entertainer that does a juggling act. I was onboard for 6 weeks. It was a wonderful ship and at the time seemed Massive. So sad to see her go. I also worked the fairsea and fairwind during that period

I had the pleasure of sailing on the nordic Empress in 1998. It was my first time ever cruising with Royal Caribbean. I had been on carnival for many cruise. S prior to that, it started my journey. And after a 100 cruises with Royal Caribbean, I truly do miss the Empress, the sovereign, the majesty and the monarch. Bill forever be my favorites even though they were older, they just had the. Look of a truly beautiful ship with their graceful, boughs and cruiser sterns.Today's ships unfortunately, look like blocks on keels, but I do miss them all.Thank you for posting this video
