Husqvarna 525 BX Blower Unboxing Video
Great review, I have an ego multi-tool and find the balance off using a 5AH battery, but much better balance all round with a 2.5AH battery.
Thanks for the video. Yes, please disconnect the spark plug before attempting to replace the blades. And the spring washers need to be oriented the correct way - flat side facing the blade disc, curved edges facing the actual blade. It was good that you put one or two of them on the wrong way to show everyone what happens if you put them on the wrong way. Ideally reseat all nuts using a torque wrench as per the operation manual specification. Note some Honda mowers only have two blades installed on the blade disk, while other Honda mowers like yours have four blades. The mowers with the mulching feature usually have four blades. It is possible to install four blades on a Honda mower that doesn't have a mulching feature but usually not necessary if you are just cutting grass and collecting it in the grass catcher. Cheers from the Land Down Under.
Lol dudes just mowing some random park
Pourqoi faire une démonstration alors que tu na rien à tondre autan prendre une tondeuse fiskars
Thanks for the video. im interested in replacing my commercial mower with this. I have had 2 ego mowers already and have a decent lineup of ego tools. Re measuring the blade speed, you need a “non contact” tachometer. they come with a reflective sticker that you put on anything that turns, run it and take a reading. done.
Looking at getting Makita Combi. Switching from Stihl Km 94 petrol. How does service and repair compare for commercial use? How is the MAKITA going after a few years? Thanks
hey idk if you'll see this or not but what do you recon about the 2 size differences in the Makita. there's the 19 inch and 21 inch. im leaning towards the 19inch because of its compact size but wondering if you think the 21 inch is just the way to go. Thanks
Hi, just depends how big of an area you are mowing. I’d go with the 19 inch for smaller residential stuff as it has a faster blade speed too. Go the 21 if you are doing bigger areas regularly. Other than that both will do an amazing job. Cheers
When you do a video shut the kids up!
Li.ion batteries are notorious for catching alight particularly when charging......my neighbour up thr Road knows about that.....plugged in his li.ion for charging and went out.....when came home whole house roof burnt out.....traced to li.ion battery catching alight.Hes got no insurance so he and his wife now live in the converted garage.I wouldn't want a li.ion battery in my house thank you vert much.Cant beat good old two stroke.
How on earth is the ego struggling in that in height 3. The thing is a torque monster and cuts amazingly well, i tried it in wet grass at cut height 1 last week as a stress test and that didnt stop it. Its heavy as hell though.
No idea, i was quite surprised myself but it is what it is….
I own the ego and it genuinely coped with 1ft high grass on the lower power level. Obviously I cut high then a second pass on low but no issues. And on normal short grass like that I never use the high power mode because I just never need to. Also its a way better bagger than my old Honda petrol mower and really fills the bag. I genuinely have no idea what you are talking about ref the ego struggling. Its almost scary powerful. I agree the ego is heavy and mowing all day with it might be harder but its their commercial line and the weight means the cut is more even as the wheels hit the soil not float on the grass like a lighter mower. That's something that electric mowers often suffer from because they are lighter than a petrol engine. I don't have the makita for comparison but my ego is a tank and for me thats a good thing. Compare them again in 5 years time maybe?
Don’t know why I keep watching these battery mower video’s, I have no intention of moving from my petrol mower (Stihl RM545 VR) anytime soon. Of the two on show I’d have the Makita.
Hi pal, looks great. I need an all rounder for my garden business... would this accept polesaw attachment?
Hey mate, no you’d need the combi tool for that. This is a dedicated line trimmer. Get the 325iLK for the combi tool 👍🏻
I wanted this aluminum model to replace my 20" EGO. However, I just ordered the TR4204. Now, I'm afraid it will be overkill. I may have to settle for the new composite one. I would like to see a comparison of them to ensure I'm not going to be missing out on something worthwhile. Great video from a knowledgeable user!
Excellent video mate, great testing on a difficult lawn, over a flat perfect lawn, a real world test 👌
Thanks mate, appreciate the comment and you watching 🤙🏻
Great video, thanks mate!! Have you had a chance to have a go with the Husqvarna 230ib blower yet? I’m very tempted to upgrade 😅
Thanks mate. No not yet, it’s not available here in Australia yet! 😒
LoveLawn must be in bed with Makita, given kept saying ego “struggled” on household grass, where there videos on yt showing its domestic mower ie the select cut leaving a nice finish on 6-8 inch long grass stress tests. EGO going down the right path by focusing in yard and garden care. Makita is just an expensive variant or Roybi in the terms dipping its fingers in multiple different industries and not focusing to be great at one main industry.
The only person I’m in bed with is my wife thanks. I’ve paid for all this gear so have zero interest in saying good or bad stuff about either. These are just my findings so far mate. Can only tell you what I’m seeing. Not sure about what others do on RUclips. A lot of those videos are total garbage. It’s about the quality of cut not just the ability to hack through long grass. Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion 🤙🏻
@@lovelawns Have you tried diff batteries? could be a cell died in parallel and it isn't giving the current needed. Also check blade sharpeness. on paper ego should be strong. Is there any sort of eco mode that's accidentally turned on?
would be sweet to see the Milwaukee mower compared to these
I’ll work on getting hold of the Milwaukee mower for sure. Would be interested 👍🏻
Love the video. Have you used it in the rain much?
No I haven’t. Just on damp lawns after irrigation was on. It’s not great on wet grass to be honest. Just doesn’t have the suction with the single bar and fairly slow rpms.
Great video. They don't seem much quieter than my Honda 4 strokes...but that's probably your mic. So much easier to maintain though, fewer parts & no fumes or pull-starting. The only reason landscaping power tools require an internal combustion engine these days is for those power-demanding jobs. Otherwise they're already becoming obsolete!
Thanks mate. Yeah it’s a different tone but definitely quieter than a Honda 4 stroke. My mic is pretty sensitive so picks it up quite loudly. The mower and backpack blowers are the final tools that are nearly there for proper commercial use. These two are super close but I reckon further improvements can be made.
Awesome comparisons!
Thanks 🙏
Great video mate 🙂🤙🏻
Cheers mate 👍🏻
Again, a lot of talk about how one mower 'struggled' to cut the grass but no actual video evidence or what happened one week ago when it 'struggled'/
Thanks for watching 👍🏻 see Instagram for more content 😜
Is that the same Ego Commercial mower you reviewed 5 months ago? Certainly holding up well after 5 months of commercial use, pristine you might say. Hell, even the catcher looks perfect after 5 months of use, not even a stray blade of grass. I can see how one week of growth can make a great comparison for mowers, especially when that one mower was there a week ago and 'struggled'.
What can I say, I look after my gear. Cheers for stopping by
I've got the 19 inch Makita XGT lawn mower LM001G. Fantastic at bagging. It cuts thick tall kikuyu easily. I have mowed a few times on wet grass but it cakes a grass ring near the blades (resistance) and wants to stick to the plastic blocking the exit chute. You will get by on a maintenance cut but not overgrown wet grass without tipping mower over to scoop the grass out of deck every several meters. You can fold the handle bars in half so it can fit in the boot/rear of car easily. I agree 100% with your assessment of the Makita mower. Have had the lawn care tools for a year and 8 months and recommend their 40v max tools. 👍
Thank you for this interesting comparison video. On the EGO LMX5300SP 21" cut width mower there is option to do a "Pitch Cut" by having the front wheels lower than the rear wheels to gain more air suction when bagging like most professionals would do on their riding mower. Maybe that setup would help for you. On the North American side there is a single battery Select Cut LM2206SP with dual blades and no hitch at the bag setup. Some professional owners on the Facebook have both of them and swapped out the single blade and fan, flange bolt & washer of the LMX5300SP with the LM2206SP's High Lift dual blade with the listed items below that cost ~$50 USD and found it cuts better since the dual blades setup produces finer clips (fills more into the bag) and less possibility of clumps. Maybe try ordering these accessories from US or available neighboring country and try it out to see the cut will improve even though it will have a little bit decrease on the runtime: egopowerplus.com/mpattachment/file/download/id/3430/ #10 LM2200SP 5640538001 Mushroom Head Square N: x2 #11 LM2200SP 5630543001 Prevailing Torque Type: x2 #12 LM2200SP 5650705002 Washer: x1 #13 LM2200SP 5640226002 Flange Bolt: x1 #20 LM2200SP 3300082001 Fan: x1 #101 LM2200SP 2851767001 Upper Blade: x1 #102 LM2200SP 3709140001 High-lift bagging blade: x1 The reason the LMX5300SP only has single blade setup is to cut down the time for the professionals when sharpening the blade daily as a commercial tool while the residential units like the Makita and the EGO LM2206SP have multiple blades as the home owners may demand better cut quality and would have more time to sharpen multiple blades during the down time more often.
Very nice video makita xgt 480mm is even batter when we talk about power becouse it has the same motor but smaller blade.
Yeah a few people have mentioned that. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Great video! thanks for the comparison. I was expecting a bit more from the Ego.
Yeah me too mate. Thanks for watching.
Thanks mate great review been looking at the makita with great interest and your review has helped me greatly .I am though not sure on your head gear but for protection is seems a good idea ,in Melbourne we cannot get passed 20 c much and its nearly summer lol ..great work again thank you
Hey Geoff, thanks mate. Stoked you found it useful. Yeah these hats take a minute to get used to but completely protects my face and neck from getting smashed day in and day out by the relentless QLD sun. My English skin can’t handle it mate, along with the surfing I’ll end up looking like an old leather boot in a few years otherwise lol…. 20 degrees, sounds like a might need to move to Melbourne. Was 36 this week here!
Ideally i would like a hedger woth power pack
Let's see one with ego vs husky on the Hedger! Cheers
Would love to see more reviews comparing all these 5 brands with some of the newer who gears
Makita xgt small hadger has 5000 strokes per minute
Yes it does. Great unit 👍🏻
Stihl SHA 56 seems to be the next level up from the Husqy with a bit more power.
If I were to use Stihl I’d get the new SHA 140 Vacuum shredder and stick to the commercial grade AP battery system. 👍🏻
@lovelawns hello, the SHA 140 is only vac and not a blower.
I wouldn’t be using it for blowing anyways. Dedicated blower is heaps better.
@@lovelawns two appliances instead of one though
what if you dont have a steady pair of arms or hands?
Hey mate,I just picked one up. Only just had a quick play so far, but it feels very good. I'm keen to get out and give it a good go. Just one question: What cord do you use with it? I noticed it has 2mm cord. However, i usually use 2.4mm. I guess it will just reduce run time a little.
Hey mate, that’s awesome. I use 2.7 cord mostly and it’s fine. Enjoy 🤙🏻
Just bought the 480mm version, which I bought on a bit of a whim, and as a bit of a fluke with not much research. Love, love it! Really like how when the handles fold down, the bottom handle can be so easily locked with those twist pins. That makes the whole thing rigid and easier to pick up and haul around, from the back of the ute to the shed. And I love that honking great lift handle bolted on at the back, as well as the nice rounded grip under the front! Another thing I love: the rear wheels protrude back past the catcher door with plenty of clearance so that if you're taking it down stairs, you'll never snag the catcher door on the stairs, like you can with some other mowers. Oh, and one more thing: the way they've done that "10" setting way up higher than the others so that you've got a mower with massive clearance when you're moving it between places, or navigating wide tread garden steps ...
Nice review, wish I had watched it before buying the Stihl, was just keen on keeping all my battery equipment the same as i already have couple hedgers and saw from them. but going from a stihl fs94 to the fs135 is quite a bit heaver at the ass end and not really liking the weight too much, getting a bit of a sore arm, thinking about checking out the husky as its 1kg lighter.
Hey mate, thanks for watching. I highly recommend the Husqvarna 525iLXT. It’s hands down the best battery line trimmer I’ve ever used. Cheers.
@@lovelawns which battery do you use for the husky?
@matstewart8260 BLi300 👍🏻
@lovelawns how long do you get with the 300 and have you tried the 200?
@@matstewart8260 it’s about the same as 1 and half tanks full of 2 stroke on the 525lst. The 200 is a bit less.
Hello. Did you try the new 525 IHE3 And the new combi 525 ILK ?
I have them coming soon. Looking forward to using them. They look very good and if the other newer models I have been using are anything to go by they will be excellent. Videos to follow when they arrive 👍🏻. Thanks for watching.

2 height adjusters 👎 Less storage efficient 👎 You have to twist the handle bar knob to fold the handlebar down 👎 Almost double the weight 👎 It’s a solid pass for me.
