    Thanks for the video. Yes, please disconnect the spark plug before attempting to replace the blades. And the spring washers need to be oriented the correct way - flat side facing the blade disc, curved edges facing the actual blade. It was good that you put one or two of them on the wrong way to show everyone what happens if you put them on the wrong way. Ideally reseat all nuts using a torque wrench as per the operation manual specification.
    Note some Honda mowers only have two blades installed on the blade disk, while other Honda mowers like yours have four blades. The mowers with the mulching feature usually have four blades. It is possible to install four blades on a Honda mower that doesn't have a mulching feature but usually not necessary if you are just cutting grass and collecting it in the grass catcher.
    Cheers from the Land Down Under.

    Should always start the engine and let it run for a couple of minutes. Then, very importantly, disconnect the spark plug lead before tipping the mower over to drain the oil.

      Hi mate, thanks for watching. I’m stoked you found it useful. It depends how much you use it really. If you are a contractor using it all day everyday then I’d do this once a month or more if needed. If it’s summer and dusty you might want to clean / change the air filter every week. If you’re mowing rough ground a lot then the blades might need changing more often etc etc. Lots variables to give a clear answer but hope that helps 👍🏻

      Oil should be about every 50hrs, air filter (depends on how dusty your area is) but if you can at least change it once a year, clean it as often as you can. Blades on a basic lawn should be around 1-2yrs (mileage will vary) but generally you will "feel" you need to change it when it takes you like 3-4 passes before its cut, or when you see that the grass just "bends" down.

    I had to double check the video I think you have the tension washer the wrong way round.
    The flat of the washer should be against the disk and the raised edges face the blade.
    I think so that the raised curves touch the actual blade surface eg they go past the oversized bolt centre they step around it and pivots off a wider area .

    • @karmicselling4252
      @karmicselling4252 Месяц назад

      You are correct. Those washers are called SPRING WASHERS. The flat part of the washer should be flush against the disk and the raised edges should face the mower blade. The orientation is clearly stated in the operation manuals that are supplied with new Honda mowers of this type.

      You’ll need to wedge a bit of wood in there and use long ratchet tool so you have leverage. Surprised the rattle gun doesn’t do the job tho..? Maybe a bigger rattle gun?

      You can run it like that but i just run all of them as high lift.

    • @emmanuelporio3208
      @emmanuelporio3208 6 месяцев назад

      standard ones (you buy online or at a mower shop) will have 2 high lift and 2 low lift but if you don't use the mulch plug then you can change that to all high lifts ones for better "throw" to the catcher specially when the grass is wet.
