I very much like your presentation, but wish to add that a few years ago in a secondhand bookshop, I discovered 'The King's General', which I'd never heard of. I love it so much that have now read it three times. It's set during the English Civil Wars of the C17th, but most intriguing is that she used the house she lived in which was built around 1600. At the end of my copy was a footnote about a secret room and staircase discovered in the early C19th during a reconstruction. The room by her time had either gone or been sealed, but its existence in the past intrigued her. She wrote this book right after WW2, and so going back exactly 300 years to the corresponding decade (from the 1940s to the 1640s), she found a way of writing about the situation of women in particular and the desperate circumstances both during the war itself, the damage done and the aftermath. I love the book and highly recommend it.

Welcome back! I totally understand having a busy life. I'm looking forward to hearing about what you'll be reading this year! Little Women is a fantastic book. It's one of my favorite cozy reads. Greta Gerwig's movie is incredible, and I also like the one from the 1990s which starred Winona Ryder. That's the one I grew up watching many times! Claire Danes was so good at playing Beth, I cried at several of the scenes she does.

I've only read Little Women but all your books sound fun! HI! Glad you are back and finish getting all better!

Happy reading! I think of the books you mentioned the only one I've read is "Get a Life, Chloe Brown," but romance in general isn't my thing so I had a hard time getting into it. One of the books that I'm looking forward to this year is "The Warm Hands of Ghosts" by Katherine Arden, a fantasy/ghost story set during WW1; the setup sounds somewhat dreary, but I really enjoyed Arden's Winternight trilogy, so I'm just going to go for the ride

What a beautiful and calming video! I'm in the process of setting up my reading journal for the year. I hope to make a video about it soon, but I want to come up with a list of books that are a priority for me in 2024 first. I think we might have some of the same, or very similar, bookish stickers! I think my favorite read of the year was The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

The House on the Strand is well worth reading too. A bit of history mixed with some time travel.

I just got a copy of Hungry Hill from the library today. I read Rebecca about 30 years ago and loved it, I watched the original black and white film with Joan Fontaine, it's my favourite version. “Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.” is one of the most iconic opening sentences ever.

I'm so pleased you are now working as a producer. It sounds like a really good role to embark on your career, while working towards working in film. I don't think as far ahead as 10yrs. Probably because I'll be nearly 60yrs old by then 😱 That is seriously scary 😢 Vlog videos of the area where you live would be interesting to see.

The premise was interesting but I couldn't get with the characters. It's the only book I've read by the author.

Welcome back Beki! Life sounds busy for you but in a good way. I’ve also had a busy time so booktube had to take a back seat for me too. I have wondered about Bono’s book so it’s good to hear your thoughts on it. Loved Evelyn Hugo but was also a little disappointed by the ending and didn’t care for the journalist’s story. I think it would have been great without that aspect. Addie LaRue was a bit disappointing for me. Interesting idea but didn’t care for the character. I really want to read Alan Rickman’s Diaries but so sad he isn’t alive to read them on audiobooks. Also, like you said someone publishing diaries after a person dies is a little uncomfortable in some ways!
