great tag. ever before seeing this tag my mom and I always talk about how listening to the paddington books is like eating a warm cinnamon roll with a cup of cocoa like paddington does at elevenses. definitely our SWEET. (I'm a 12 year old booktuber, but my mo honestly likes paddington too)
omgosh the graphic for watering the soul & the way back home are so cute and beautiful! i love your 2 recommendations for profound books to share and that they're both non fiction! for me, non fiction has always had the bigger impact on me. i assume you've watched all of BBC planet earth :) if you haven't, you need to!
I knoooow I love it so much! thank you, glad you enjoyed it, I am not reading as much non fiction as I would love to, but hopefully that will improve! Yes, see most of them, love it! 🤩
Great video and thanks for the tag. You have a great list of books on here for me to add to my tbr! and love the image of your friend watching you read Circe! :)
Great tag! The 2 books that come to mind for me when it comes to books set in the Arctic are Dark Matter by Michelle Paver and The Terror by Dan Simmons - however both are scary if I wouldn’t class them as outright horror. Gripping reads though! I’m sure there are happy books set in cold places, but I’ve not come across them yet 😊
Thank you for doing the tag Beki! As usual you made it beautiful and aesthetic and I love it ❤Definitely adding watering the soul to the TBR! Really loved your answered for deep fried 😂I figured a lot of folks would pick "sad reads" but the "this pissed me off so much it hurt my soul!" is definitely the interpretation that makes me laugh the most!
This is such a fun tag! And yes, I am laughing!!! 😂😂😂 I was thinking about that book the other day when I saw some of my Tracy Chevalier books on the shelf; that ending was so cliché and such a disappointment!
Yay! You're doing Rosika's tag! =) I was tagged too but I'm so slow with my tag videos so it will take a little while until I'll get to it. Loved to see your take on it though! 💜
Thank you so much for the tag Becki. I really appreciate it. I will add it to my list of tag videos to do at some point. Have you read Away with the Penguins? It's a nice easy read with an older protagonist who becomes obsessed with penguins and goes on a journey? I listened to it for a bedtime audiobook. It's not all set in a cold place but quite a bit of the book is. You really were disappointed with A Single Thread 😂
Not sure if you'd be interested but for a book that transports you to a cold place the first book that came to mind was The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden, it's a historical fiction set in medieval Russia in the middle of winter and you feel the cold in your bones when reading it! It's light fantasy as well but definitely more historical fiction... I loved the entire trilogy!
For a book set in a cold place, try The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. LeGuin. It is a classic in the science fiction genre and it is set on a planet called Winter. It’s an older book, published in 1969 but holds up beautifully.
ooo fun tag! Might have to steal this!
Please do!🥳
