I would check your base timing and make sure your timing is correct and that your advance is working for the hot start issue as well as your fuel line insulation. re-route away from an exhaust if possible. you can also looking at adding a low pressure boost pump - so if it is vapor locking - it will push fuel thru the line. I don't recall if you're using original block pump that "sucks" fuel from the tank or if you have a pump "pushing" fuel from tank to engine. if it's a sucker - add you an electric boost pump. That's partially why Fuel injection avoids this issue - higher fuel pressure - keeps it from boiling in the lines. today's ethanol fuel is terrible. Also - if dodge is similar to GM (i'm mostly familiar with GM) check your ignition module - if it's in the distributor - make sure it has thermal paste on it - and or replace it.

Your grill and upper radiator support unfolds real easy on these RV's sleeperdude took theirs out. I believe their's is a 73 or74 Dodge as well. They too are on you tube

Oh no, a cliffhanger!! This is more stressful than who shot JR!! At least this one included the real side of MI!! Who knew there even was another side and that other lake over there?? The sand is where it's at, and where all the pricey stuff is to do. It's all those IL peeps that hang out over there and make the prices go crazy. Glad you all had a good time. There is a ton of stuff to do over on the sandy side. A month earlier and you wouldn't have been able to move through there. This one was kinda backwards as well. Sometimes I watch you working on this motor and I wonder why are you even touching that thing...do you even know at what timing degrees is your timing mark supposed to be at?...also, are you sure you correctly installed the plug wires and didn't jump one tower?, cause if you did, your timing mark will be off and you trying to bring in the mark at the balancer will be a disaster!...it's very important that ypu time the engine at the CORRECT DEGREE, if your timing is retarded she won't have as much power and SHE'LL RUN HOTTER, so the timing degree is of utmost importance...but I'm still tryin' to wrap my head around your comment about "you timing it by ear"...OMGosh..can you say "shadetree"?...

If your front brakes ever lock up and smoke, check to see if you have a combination master cylinder and power steering. It's what we have... towed 2 times.

They make a fuel filter that has a single in and two outs. The two outs means you run one to the carb and the second back to the tank. The are designed to stop vapor lock. You can also get a phenolic carb spacer. That will stop the boiling of the fuel in the carb bowls.

Just checked out you new video love your revives , on the timing I did not here if you disconnected and plugged the vacuum advance line , if it was still connected you were actually retarding the timing too far could have been reason for backfire keep up the good work

Before you install the carb,….Have you checked to make sure you haven’t jumped a tooth on the timing gear? Easy to do: Disconnect the coil so the engine does not start, take out spark plug on #1 cylinder, then bring the #1 cylinder up to top dead center on the compression stroke. Does the mark on the damper line up with the 0 degree mark on the timing case? Does the rotor point to spark plug wire number #1? If the marks on the damper don’t line up, then you need to replace the timing chain and gears. I’m guessing that the chain has stretched over time and it’s jumped 1 or more teeth.

If you're using a hi volume pump. You may want to look in a higher capacity pan. The last thing you want is all the oil up top and non left in the bottom.

I think there is a sensor for oil n if too old will was low or nothing. Mine needs replaced, so check for a new oil sensor. You guys give me hope. I'm just not sure I can reno mine alone. But will see. Maybe the kids n I will give it a try now ive seen all your vids almost.

I'm hooking up a flat bed to my truck essentially the same idea as here. The question is does the red brake coming out of the curt kit hook up to both sides? If so how did you connect the two?
