I’ve seen a few guys build a small compressor closet out side. Then they run the line through the wall. Super quiet, and out of the way! Super nice barn y’all!!!
Great workshop! Wish we had one, but it might not fit on our .13 acres. 😂😂😂 Oh well, we'll keep watching y'all. We are almost finiahed with our camper and appreciate all the ideas you've given us just by sharing your own experience!
I love your videos! You two are so cute together! I love how you do rediculous things, like driving Harvey with the cover on, and admit that it's crazy. I had to laugh. My husband and I are so like that! 😜
Solar to run anything other than lights is expensive. What I did for 5 years was ran a 10 Guage 30 Amp circuit to my building from my house. You can do a lot with 30 amps. Then I had gas generator when I needed to weld or plasma cut. I also built a gas powered air compressor and saved my pennies for a proper 200amp service.
We're seeing some new solar generator options that seem somewhat affordable but we're just not sure how well they'd keep up. The extension cord idea isn't bad at all until we figure something out. Thanks!
You might want to look up Wild Wonderful Off-Grid on YT. They are a couple who live on a Homestead in West Virginia and the husband created the solar grid completely along with completely building their A-frame house completely on their own. You just might get a few great ideas on how to proceed installing solar electricity in your pole barn without going bankrupt. Good luck, and great job, well done!
Congrats on the pole barn!!! Looks great, so exciting! I have a pole barn that I plan on converting into my home. Think about putting your tool storage on wheels. This way they can be moved close to where you a working and maybe store them under the worktable when not in use.
Huge congratulations on the beautiful new pole barn, that will be so nice for you all. How fun and a great building to do your projects. You won’t know what to do. Oh no, oil on the floor. Lol. Smart build on the back of the garage. Blank page to work with. The wind catcher was cute and didn’t block much other than the windshield of the pickup. Happy for your progress. ‼👏🎉🥂
Have the Electricians put in 200 amp panel, run the wires to all the outlets, & lights in the barn, have them install a box on the outside wall to hook up a generator to the panel to run the barn. the portable generator can be outside possible with a cover over it, so that you don't hear the noise and smell the exhaust. when done for the day then unplug the generator and bring inside, that way it wont be stolen. until you have enough money saved to put a house generator outside to power the barn. Just a thought.
Glad you explained the shingles. I was going to ask. Looks great. Now if you can just find some good used shelving for the cheap, it will help keep things straightened. My brother in law worked at a CVS and I got all the shelving when they redid the store. The whole basement is pegboard and shelves. Really helps but I pity the guy that has to clean it all out someday.
Put sheet insulation on the walls of the bigger room before you put up shelved. Just buy 2" foam and cut and put it up. Otherwise, you will have move all the shelves and unload them later. You might be able to find some builders with some less than perfect foam you could use. A sheet or two will at least get a couple of areas done so you can put up the shelves.
Yes, great idea! We've been trying to keep our eyes open for some at a decent price. Since summer is on the way, we're not in too big of a rush but don't really want to move everything to do it later if we don't have to. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! We just watched that and it looks easy enough. At the end, he showed those solar generators... we're leaving towards something like that maybe instead of the diy route.
@@retrorevivals yes, those are good also. We have a small one (Jackery) for camping so I can run a C-Pap machine at night and solar charge it during the day
That electric price is pretty cheap actually they are an old monopoly, but you guys have to get your merch going, big money in merch and we as fans want it. Awesome new building
It's so crazy how the electric companies can have monopolies like that. We're still working on a plan. Thanks so much for watching! We're hoping to start promoting a little merch soon 😀
Sounds like us rn now got a new property and just to get power 500ft to the entrance, was quoted 15k, doesn't include to where our first structure is going to be. So we've been looking into solar generators from ECO Flow and maybe trying to get the full stack while we start working the land.
Your shop looks great! I think the big room would be great for tool storage, engine work etc. This may be just me or my eyes playing tricks, but at the end of the video it looks liet that back corner post doesn't go all the way to the slab. Am I seeing things? As always, I really enjoy your videos and can't wait to see you renovate the Holiday Rambler.

You can try a power station with solar panels to power your building there are a lot of videos on youtube to watch go off grid screw the power company. I really enjoy your channel.
Going off-grid definitely sounds appealing! We have started to research and it looks like there are several options that might work... just trying to determine if we'd be able to run a welder, compressor, or that sort of thing. Thanks for watching!
Make a french drain in front of the concrete to help divert the water before you put the stone in. Once you put the larger stone in, choke it off with granulated slag and it will harden up just like concrete.
I love your Econoline! Are you going to reuse the vinyl cover for the couch or do you think you can with new padding? Do you have a name for it yet? How about, The Green Lantern?

When the power does go out, they can put it on a grid and it is phenomenal. The only thing you will have to do is do. An oil change on it once a year. Seen it done many times! Not sure how legal it is but it works! Blessings 👊🙏

Well, that's a great question and will depend to some extent on what we can get for electricity. We won't invest much in heat before we're able to do insulation so it'll probably have to come in phases. Most likely just use little propane powered heat to start. Thankfully winter is almost over 🥶

Need to find someone who can do a 3D scan of the Holiday Vacationer plastic plaque then edit it to restore its shape, then resin 3D print one for making a silicone mold to cast new ones. Another way to do it would be to put it on a flatbed scanner then use the image as a background guide in 3D modeling software to make the STL model from scratch. Either way, once you have the mold you might get some other Vacationer owners wanting new plaques. They could be made fade proof by filling the letters and outline with colored resin then when that sets cast the rest in white.
That's a really good idea. Ours are in pretty good shape but do have some cracks... might not be a bad idea to cast some new ones with resin. Using different colors of resin would be a great idea too. Thanks for watching!
