I think what a board game like this needs is vigorous adherence to the implied logic of the canon of the commercial. The duplicity cards are a simple mechanism to draw random events that have an effect to cover those spoken lines, but more could be done. For example, "Military Aid" could be defined as a limited player choice whereby they provide military aid to another player who is trying to move their board pieces in such a way that is advantageous to the one giving aid. So say Europe teams with US and corners Russia somehow, but India discovers through a board mechanism that they failed to dismantle their stockpile, which was agreed upon between Europe and US uncovering a deceptive tactic by EU to bomb US later by hiding a stockpile. Hence, THAT'S IT BUSTER, NO MORE MILITARY AID now carries weight and stakes, making it funnier. In other words, try to find a great reason for each spoken line to be a player choice or discovery or action with tangible outcomes. Battleship was always boring because the pieces don't move, and since the board of Nukem is so ambiguous anyway, there could be repositioning of subs and other warheads, resulting in situations like the Cuban Missle Crisis, complete with stockpile hoarding and broken treaty promises, withdrawals of military aid, maintaining that 80s Reagan-era nuclear vibe throughout with funny lines that have a meaningful impact and are the result of player choices. Otherwise - Dad's emotion at withdrawing the military aid rings as fake, blown up for comedic effect - but what's funnier is to somehow make all that real.

I absolutely LOVE this rewrite! It feels so organic and logical and just makes sense! I also love that you included Ino and Anko in here as they are also two amazing female characters that were simply wasted by Kishimoto. Also, Sakura being the one able to control both Sasuke and Naruto's hidden superpowers makes SO MUCH SENSE! It makes her character be ESSENTIAL for both of them and I simply love it! Awesome, amazing 10/10 would watch.

Probably I would've added Gloom for Togemon, even though it's not a fighting type, but also because Tanemon looks more like an Oddish. And maybe instead of Vivillion I would've chosen Miltank, as it goes with Mimi's hat. Chansey or a healing Pokemon would be a good choice for Mimi too, as she is always trying to help the ones around her. Nice choice with Politoed in Mimi's team too, in that way let her have a Bellossom too. Politoed and Bellossom are like counterparts.

I love how James ends up with a better team than Ash. I also like how you had him lose a lot. I don't really buy that James could make it to the Pokémon league, but one things for sure--he doesn't give up. So maybe he would have a shot. I do think he could make a great coordinator.

I actually feel like instead of Dunsparce, a Togekiss could really fit in there good as well. Another Pokemon that can have Serene Grace, Flies, Is a Fairy, and kinda gives a Angelic sort of vibe with how it's represented in Pokemon Media. But honestly TK has always been my favorite among the first 2 season, because I just LOVE Patamon. I love it's digi line alot.

Here's what i would have picked for Matt. 1) Oshawott (Not obly is he the antithetical starter to the protagonist's fire starter, but he is also a mammal with some of Garurumon's and MetalGarurumon's color schemes and his evolutions somewhat relfect both WereGarurumon and CresGarurumon. And of course, he will fully evolve into Samurott). 2) An Eevee who eventually evolves into a Glaceon. Ice Fox/Wolf, need i say more? 3) A Ruffrock who eventually evolves into the night variant of Lycanroc. A werewolf, nuff said. LOL. 4) Skarmory: A flying metal monster who is literally a living weapon. 5) Minun: A perfect symbol of friendship, especially with helping hand as one of his moves. 6) Riolu who evolves into Lucario and Mega Lucario. That's the closest thing to representing Omnimon's Garuru Cannon.

This would kill as an anime I love this series so much 👌💯
