What do you think of Ash's Johto Nuzlocke Journey?? And, what do you say, same time next year for Hoenn? I didn't expect the time between the Kanto video and this one to be so long, but I also didn't think I'd have to rewatch as much of the Johto anime as I did. But having to watch a lot of the Pokemon anime is a good problem to have!
I expected Ash to eventually fail. I do think he could have overcome Jasmine if he had Snorlax use Rest. Plus, he could’ve always called for Charizard. But there’s no way Ash would have made it in the Johto League.
@@FiveToedSlothisnt it that with every region that passes Ash got more Pokemon to work with, because he got more pokemon in the box, which means that he will eventualy make it to a league right?
I think with the Noctowl, Ash could've at least invoked a common spin on the Shiny Clause (if you get a shiny of a pokémon you already have, you can replace it with the shiny version). Normally Ash wouldn't just replace his pokémon like that, but in the anime he was still trying to catch Noctowl when he found the shiny Noctowl, so I think it's okay. Or, he could've used the normal Shiny Clause and ended up with 2 Noctowl, which would've helped.
I think Ash might've still beaten Jasmine. Charizard has proven to always come back when it senses he's in need, and likely would've before this battle. It being a Fire type would've been a big help. Also, Snorlax using Rest once would've cured both the paralysis and the damage taken.

In Johto Brock called Liza to get Charizard back against Gary and later Harrison, so given the situation Charizard could returned to face Jazmine and could keep going but with just Charizard and a weaker one to work with in the league if keeps him around afterwards. So Ash probably can get through Jazmine but it might be up in the air around the lake of rage. If he gets farther then he’d probably could get through Price barley but I don’t see him getting pass Clare given Charizard is slightly weaker then when he returned for him and has fewer Pokémon. That or a tie max. If he does then 8 badges but can’t keep going
Nuzlockes are Ash’s worst enemy. Even if he somehow made it to the League, his luck would run out. If he were actually aware he was in a Nuzlocke, Ash would probably have an emotional breakdown. Either that or take his training and learning about Pokémon battling far more seriously.
One of the aspects of a nuzlocke is that you're constantly catching pokemon, ending up with at least more then *triple* the expected 6 (unless you're doing a nuzlocke where you're intentionally limiting your options), you even acknowledge the 1 pokemon per area rule, so I've gotta ask, WHY DID YOU NOT GIVE ASH MORE POKEMON?! Since Ash has never had more than 10 pokemon per region (just an estimation), If you just stick to only the areas that ash caught pokemon in cannon, of course he's gonna lose, since *all* of ash's pokemon have lost a battle (aside from primeape), you're not even giving him a chance to rise from the ashes, so to speak; this isn't a fair challenge, this is far more like an ash ketchum torture porn; I could kind of understand not bothering giving him new ones in kanto if it was likely doomed from arrival given the first episode, maybe even the orange islands if they're weren't enough areas, but there is no excuse to not do it in johto, when hoenn comes around (or whatever the first region where the script hasn't been started or has room for changes), don't be afraid, in fact, embrace the idea, to have ash catch pokemon in areas he didn't catch pokemon in originally, this is a neat premise, don't ruin it with such a glaring plothole.

Or worse, see the Pokémon actually die. We’ve seen evil spirits do crazy stuff before. Battle Frontier and Sinnoh gave us prime examples.
