In the Main Restaurant, they do have a nice causal dinning dress code (no shorts) and I would treat it as eating in a fine dinning establishment. As for the buffet, dress as you please and eat with respect to others, but remembering that others are trying to enjoy their dinning, but more as a causal affair. Like eating at a local dinner buffet. Find a seat, get in line to serve your own food, and enjoy with normal conversation.

You are allowed to walk around Colonial Williamsburg and see the beautiful architecture and read some history from the outside of the dwellings and also go into many of the dwellings that have been converted to small boutique stores for free. The free walk around is wonderful at Christmas time. If you only have a few hours, that would be plenty. The single day tours like you said is $50. With that you get free parking and election of guided sites such as interpreter-guided tours of our most iconic sites, including the Capitol, Governor's Palace, and Courthouse, historic trades, and gardens (spring and summer), as well as staged performances. Admission tickets are required to enter most buildings and experience programming in the Historic Area, but plan to spend most of a day doing so. Thnx for the question and have a great day.

Not during the winter when the park is closed down, but now that the park is open for the summer, you need a park ticket and pay for parking. I ate there last Thursday for dinner and we needed the park ticket to get in.

I had to get a land use permit. That allowed for a 200 sqft base to the shed. Any thing bigger required a building permit. To park my trailer on the property also required a land use permit and a septic to be installed if I wanted a trailer to be up there for more then two weeks.
