Thanks for this, a long story but I loved my first trip to UP so much I wanted to move there. I came very close to Paradise but not close enough. When I was looking for places to buy property I fell in love with Paradise. I have a great idea for a venture there, one that could be enjoyed by everyone but I need to visit first and talk to people about it. I stayed in Au Train and went as far west as Marquette and as far east as Sault Ste Marie.I need to learn more about Ile Parisienne.

I came across a junior six-16 series II at an antique shop recently and loaded into the fresh side was a role of verichrome that seems to have been exposed, but the seal was torn off. Confusing circumstances to me. I'm pretty excited to get it developed and see if there are any viewable images.

Base fog?! It happens to Kelly Shane Fuller too (who had gained access to chemistry specific for K-14 but close enough the original couplers), He explains in the Studio C-41 podcast that base fog can cause terrible results with color casting and minor color shifts. Expired Kodachrome film is good up to 25 years of storage in room temp controlled area (attic, closet, or basement), but storing the film in a freezer or fridge is also good for a long period of time. You should've develop for 10 minutes at HC-110B, so that you'll get a negative from Kodachrome. Happy to help...

Olympus made a lot of great lenses but the 75-150 f4 wasn’t one of them as a lot of the early zoom lenses were not that good. I thought maybe I had a bad copy and bought another one years later but nope, second one was bad too.

Meh ... expensive. This is just an expensive light source beyond the negative or slide. My $20 Opteka slide duplicator works swell with a flash pointed at a white card or with a cheap LED video light on a white card just beyond the film holder. This is an expensive way to add a light at the end of a tube. But then, your mileage may vary. Thanks - super well scripted and illustrated video. TT

I watched this and a lot of videos on this system a few weeks ago. I got the Valoi Easy35 and I am using it with a Pentax K-3 Mark iii Monochrome with a Pentax Limited DA 35mm Macro lens and it is such a perfect setup for scanning B&W negatives. Using that lens and camera you only need the 20mm spacing tube provided in the Valoi kit and the spacing is just a few pixels wider than the 35mm image. Just a tiny bit to let you know you got the whole image. I love how with this setup your B&W isn’t passed through a Bayer filter at a color sensor and then reinterpreted as B&W, it just starts B&W and the film and goes straight into a B&W RAW file.

Would a macro lens filter work as well as the extension tubes?

Im my experience you overexpose and underdeveloped. Try 32 ISO and 17 minutes for better negatives. Also you do not show how you got rid of the Rem-jet, which is what will stump most newbies. Most newbies see the heavy remjet, think they have done something wrong and toss the film.... And never pre-wash color film before developing (or any fim for that matter, it will just dilute the developer IN the film, and loose quality..... especially if you use a developer like D76, for like sy 10 films pr litre, after 10 films you have diluted the developer with 300 to 350 miliitre or !/3 dilution..... and that is a catastrophe. Since your film came out clean after the short rinse and the fixer, with no remjet, you faked this for a very important step.

HC110 what dilution, time and temp?

Ok, I'm gonna be the party pooper here : 1) Clickbait title, because it gives the impression that you're actually gonna get images in color. 2) 15 min of you wandering around, with no pictures in the middle to keep viewers entertained. 3) A number of grainy, uninteresting pictures at the end, and no big revelation : pretty much everyone interested in film knows that you can develop any kind of color film in B&W soup. So, sorry, but I wouldn't recommend this video, for all the reasons listed above.

James, is your lens you’re using a macro lens, or do the extension tubes you added between your lens and the camera correct the fact that it is not a macro lens?

K64 (ASA) means in DIN : 19° or (ISO64/19) film speed. Those known legacy (lol I mean legendary of course) Super8 film rolls named "K40" from Kodak had a 17°DIN speed.

Obviously James got money or something of value for this review. I will tell you this: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM SUNNY16. They are dishonest. I purchased their Voyager bag and it was promised by a specific date. It came almost a week later after I purchased an alternative and left the country. My son refused the shipment at the USPS and the item was returned unopened. SUNNY16 REFUSED TO CREDIT MY ACCOUNT. No explanation. No communication. Just stonewalled me. Check out their rating at the BBB - it is a big, fat "F" because they've screwed others out of their money the same way.

The shutter probably needs to have any oil cleaned off, then have carbon powder put in it's place so it won't freeze

This was such a weird camera to come across. I have a Yashica D and was thinking what if they had a medium format slr without a removable back. Like a tlr without the second lens for maximum compactness.This is such a cool camera with so many quirks and fun facts.

Is it me, or are there a lot of apparent light leaks many of these shots? Fun video...I'm thinking of picking up a C220...as that somehow my mint Yashica Mat 124G fell off its strap one day and hit the ground hard right on the focusing plane and lenses.... I really want another TLR...

Your developing time is very short. You should try 15 mins next time.
