Hi James. I think the cold was getting to your brain at the end of the video. Paul and you are right. Life is about moments. You have to be out to experience those moments and if you want to photograph those moments you have to take the camera gear. 📷 🌄🌅

I have enough brain problems even without the cold! Thanks so much for watching and commenting, Andrew. I really appreciate it.

-7c, my god that’s cold. I know how you feel when you go to a place and it’s all new then you come home to a place that you have been looking at most if your life. I when I moved away from my home town in Ireland at the age of 18 and went back when I was 39 I thought that it would be ohhh so boring but I saw everything in a different light. The landscapes stood out so much more along with the beautiful beaches and massive cliffs. Now I don’t take it for granted. Great video

Thanks so much. I tipped over that coffee mug on the sidewalk when I was packing up my gear. The coffee froze into an ice patch in a couple of minutes. It was bitter cold that morning. My hands were like blocks of wood. I was becoming fearful of dropping my gear.
Thanks for watching. I’ve been to Ireland. It certainly is a land of beauty. Ireland also has the friendliest culture I’ve ever experienced. Everyone we met (except one lone innkeeper) were extremely friendly and wanted ti be sure we enjoyed our stay. Even the airport security was friendly and made a point to ask how we enjoyed our trip.

Great topic and video. I find that when I lack the motivation to get outside and explore, just getting myself to take that first step and walk out the door is the best thing to do. The rest oftentimes seems to come naturally. We all have off days from time to time. I never forget how great it feels to be in the flow, out in nature with my camera experiencing this beautiful planet we all live on.

Thank you. This was a really hard video to make. I knew I was lacking confidence, and that's a personal and scary thing to admit... especially when the purpose of this channel it to teach and inspire.
Yes, this is an amazingly beautiful world. I have been feeling a tug to help others see the beauty that is all around us. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it more that I can ever express.

Wise words Jim. It's easy to stay indoor and remain unmotivated, getting out does give you inspiration even if you aren't even out with a camera. I don't live in an area with a huge amount of stunning vistas and having lived in the area for the majority of my life it is easy to get disillusioned with the same old every day but there is so much beauty in the small things or the changing weather conditions to spark your creativity. Congratulations on breaking 1000 subscribers - I know it's only a number but great to see the channel grow and inspire more people all the same.

Thanks so much, Andrew. It’s often a difficult choice of cat & coffee vs cold & camera.

We had that 2 day 70 to 20 degree swing here in Ohio too haha. It’s definitely tempting and a lot easier to stay on the couch, but definitely not as rewarding as getting out and doing our thing. Thanks for sharing this totally relatable video.

Thanks so much. The weather has been disappointing this year. I usually love winter and the snow. Very little snow, but lots of cold and bitter days. Our natural gas usage (for heating)is up this year.
I need to get out and photograph more. It definitely does put a new perspective on the world. Thanks for watching.

Hey James!! I think that in the art world, inspiration and creativity are things that are hard to keep all the time. Two years ago I found a wonderful book "The Creative Fight by Chis Orwig" This book is always on my nightstand table and I like to re-read it. This book It's a guide for igniting and sustaining the creative spark no matter what you do or who you are. I just hope that you like this book if you want to read it. Thanks for your video!!

Brilliant video! Living in New England I know the challenges of Winter and have experienced the lack of motivation and creative drive. Finding the new in the known is sometimes the hardest thing to do, but it is amazing how much we have under our noses we don't see! Keep up the awesome work and thanks for sharing your experiences!

Thank you so much. I am looking forward to the day when we are traveling full time, but this season of exploring what’s right under my nose is wonderful too.
Thanks for watching and being ever supportive. I really appreciate it.

Great video Jim and thank you for all of the shout-outs in this one, I didn't expect that but very much appreciated! But I know what you mean after returning home from a new place, I suffered from it a lot last year after traveling so much. I'm in the midst of a self doubt thing right now myself so I completely understand. But it was great to see you back at the old lighthouse where it sort of all began! Such a fantastic location and a beautiful (but cold) morning you had. I really enjoyed the way you explored your compositions and came away with a few really nice shots despite not getting the clouds you wanted. Thanks for the reminder if it's just great to get out. It beats anything else we could be doing! Really thoughtful video my friend.

Thank you so much. It was bitter cold that morning. I spilled some coffee on the sidewalk and it froze in a couple of minutes! I may need to invest in some photography gloves.
This was, (once again,) not the video I set out to make, but it is the video that wanted to be made.
      Take care.

The biggest hurdle in Landscape Photography - getting up and getting out. I think we can all be guilty of dismissing the beauty in our locality, or just getting bored of it, I know I have. It is something I’ve found a new or different but if kit can kickstart though as with your super wide here….seeing it all a little differently

    • @VintageInsightPhotography
      @VintageInsightPhotography  2 года назад +3

Thanks for commenting. I’m very practical about my equipment/tools. I usually only purchase something if I know I’ll use it often. The super wide 9mm has seen a little use, I hope to showcase it more. It’s so incredibly tiny and sharp. Except in the freezing cold when you zone focus and miss. 🤦🏻‍♂️
There’s a reason why I show only one photo from that morning! 🤣
      Thanks for watching.
