Thanks. I was really impressed with how that Olympus lens did. Pretty lightweight too at just 515g. Yeah, the drone was not happy being beat up like that. Still better than hitting a tree! 🤣
Great video Jim! Crazy Lake Michigan weather! Those were some massive waves! And bright sunshine at the same time with the blackest clouds? Crazy! But I'd say your vintage lens did the trick and then some! You got some really amazing photos despite the weather! Great stuff as always. Heading over to watch the 2nd video now!
Michigan weather can be crazy for sure! I think what I ended up with was better than what I planned for. I went out on the channel seawall for a few shots. The swells were so big that they swept up and over. I ended up ankle deep in the swells. At least a six-foot difference in the water height. Take care.
Some dramatic images there Jim, I particularly like the shot at 4:55 - a shame you didn't get the sunset image you wanted after all that meticulous planning.
Thanks, Andrew. There will be other sunsets and moon opportunities. I was not unhappy with the images I ended up with. Take care and thanks for watching.
Brilliant video! Awesome lighthouse photos! my fav is the fujinon 18-55 photo, looks like an oil painting! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks!
Great Video Jim, thanks for sharing
Thanks, Tony.
Wonderful stormy skies you had there. That lens looks very sharp considering its age. I like to think as we get older we also retain our sharpness!
I certainly hope we retain our sharpness as well as that lens has!
I do like the pano shot I ended up with better than my imagined sun/moon set.
Loved the Arty photo you ended with. The lens did great. Was the drone shouting 'High Wind Warning' . Mine does it all the time 🤣

Great vid both - shame that the weather scuppered your original idea Jim, but the ferocity of those waves delivered something special.
Yeah, I was initially pretty disappointed, but the weather was a better subject than the setting sun/moon. Much more dramatic.
I agree that the weather seemed to put a damper on the day, but your photos turned out amazing! It makes one realize how powerful water can be 😮
I now see how people can get swept off the pier. Thanks for sharing the adventure!
