Okay first off this was so fun! I’m really manifesting the pdf option while still purchasing a paper chart, I love my pattern binder and supporting my ONS’s, but the functionality of a PDF is unmatched!

I’m a new cross stitcher and so far have done 1.5 projects.a butterfly and flower I got in a kit a JoAnn. I’ve been going thru your catalog and some newbie questions 1) what are different styles of cross stitch? I see samplers, photos, full coverage, etc? What makes a sampler a sampler? Why is it always alphabet? Does it have to writing to be sampler? 2) what does “chart” mean? I heard yall say “release alternative chart”? Where is it being release? Who does releasing? Do you have to have permission? 3) how do you bead? In the flag lady video yall mentioned bead it? Is there a video? Do the beads get crushed in frame? 4) I know yall have preferences styles and designer. Would yall do a month highlight or spotlight of diversity in cross stitch design? Like AAPI Latino, black, LGBTIQ 🌈 themed/flosstubers/designers during month

Love R&H Cinderella! Julie Andrews is always my favorite. The Brandi version is a close second. I have a couple of Brooke’s patterns that’s in The Gift of Stitching magazine. The issues are still available online until Feb this year. Planning to start one of them or Aurora’s dress. I had so many of the princess dresses on my wishlist. Hope I can find them someday.

Retired English literature teacher here who just went down a rabbit hole (wrong story 🐰🐭🎩👸🏽❤) looking for the Grimm Brothers’ version… I was thinking that one stepsister was struck blind and one cut off her heel (but maybe it was their toes…?) Anyway, I found out there are more than 500 versions of the original Cinderella /“rags-to-riches” story. The probable original was Chinese in the 9th century. OK, enough trivia, right?! 🏰

Oh I need to start Black Roses too. I saw the one on the Owl Forest Embroidery page with the reed Roses and windows and fell in love. I've been waiting to buy it but like you all mentioned, charts can always become out of print and unavailable at any time. It's so sad about Brooke's Books designer. I need to start one of her pieces in her honor. Fortunately I had just finished purchasing the rest of the ones I want to do. I'm glad now that I did. 🏰

Love seeing these projects. Happy birthday month! Last year I started Once Upon A Time by Butternut Road for the Princess Birthday SAL but I didn't get far and also didn't get a chance to post. Maybe I'll pick her up again this month. I thought of starting another Princess but I think I've got enough going I need to finish some. I just finished Enchanted Mermaid by Mirabilia and posted her on Instagram (same handle as here). P.S. I spoke to you, Stephanie, for all of two seconds lol, about model stitching. The Roger and Hammerstein Cinderella is the best. The one from the 1965, I have that on DVD, but Brandi’s remake in 1997 is pretty good, too. I remember the hype of Brandi’s one when it came out. My elementary school music teacher was all about it.
