I'm so very sorry about the loss of your beloved fur baby. It is so hard to say goodbye to them. We've had to make those same tough decisions about 2 of our very senior dogs. Their hearts are so big and they give us so much of themselves, that we can only pray they understand the love we give back to them in return ❤
I cried along with you when you talked about Lucy. Taco also had dementia and making the decision to put him down was so incredibly difficult. My heart is with you. It does get easier, but I still miss him so so so so so much. So incredibly sorry you are going through this. Hugs.
My sincerest condolences about the family furbaby. I went through something similar. The day I found out I was in remission was the same day I had to make the VERY difficult decision to let my furbaby have her wings. She was 17 and was there mentally, but she started having multiple seizures a day and stopped eating. I always told her I would do right by her and when it was time, I kept my promise. She watched over me while I went through treatments and helped me get to remission. She was my best friend too. I had her since she was about 9 months old, and she was a stray with no microchip and no one was looking for her. Thanks for sharing, and take care.
I am so sorry about the loss of Lucy. It sounds like you gave her an AMAZING life, filled with love and laughter and kindness. She knows what she meant to you all, and I am sure she is thankful. I have no doubt her spirit is carried with you. I still keep the ashes of Miles, my bluepoint Siamese, on the table next to my stitchy spot. He was 15 and battled cancer for 7 years. When he died on June 3 I was devastated. I still get emotional on some days. He always slept right next to me whenever I was stitching. Or sitting. Or eating. Or reading. Or sleeping. Or bathing. Or staring off into space (as one does). You get the idea 😄 I am sending huge virtual hugs to the both of you. Pets are the family we choose, although sometimes they choose us as well. Give yourselves some grace while navigating your grief. It is going to be ok 💖🥤
I'm very emotional watching you talk about sweet Lucy - so so sorry for your loss ♥ I know the pain of losing a pet well, its unbelievably hard. Making that decision, not making it in time... its just so hard. They really burrow themselves deep into our hearts. Sending you & your family healing thoughts ♥
I love piecemakers too! I can't really pinpoint why either but they feel so nice. It's always funny to see different perspectives on travelling. My husband and I love it but I am always happy to come home and hole up with my stitching for a while after all of our adventuring abroad. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog, she lived a long and happy life with you. Wishing you all the best ❤
Oh Stephanie my heart goes out to you and your family. We adopted an ex-racing greyhound a few years back and lost her during the pandemic. It’s painful and horrible, but you were always there throughout her life and I’m sure she knew that to the end. ❤
I'm sorry about your pup Stephanie. I had a pup who had doggie dementia and as she aged it was hard to make the decision that was right for her. You are so kind to put what is best for her above your own needs. Sending you gentle hugs.
Ah, can empathize so much with the pain of losing a pet, especially when the decision on when is the right time is up to you. I think stitching a memorial piece that has meaning to you is lovely. I enjoyed this entire video, but especially had to laugh when you talked about Hanson. MMMBop came out when I was a senior in high school; my sisters were in junior high. That song was everywhere! And I was definitely not into it, but they were. 😅 I love your videos for the content, but I also can really relate to the sisterly back and forth and, as the oldest of three sisters, they way you walk about your family dynamic really resonates. And since I live far away from my family, it’s nice to catch a little of that vibe when I’m missing them. 💗🍷
So sorry about thel loss of your doggie Stephanie. We had to put down our 15 year old shih tzu Sydney in March. The best medicine is another cuddle buddy …when you are ready. ❤ 🍸☕️
🏆 big hugs and so sorry for your loss, stephanie - i also had to say goodbye to my cat last month. very similar experience.. it is so interesting to hold my own grief along with compassion for her and knowing i did the right thing to keep her from feeling pain 💔 i love your idea for a grieving wip -- might have to SAL with you on that! and i DIED from the los cultch shout out 😂 now i want everyone on flosstube to share the moment in cross stitch that made them say cross stitch was for them! mine was modern folk embroidery quaker samplers anyways, the ama was fun! thank you both for being so open and taking the time to share. xoxo
So sorry to hear about you fur baby! It's so hard to let them go, but they kind of let you know when they are ready. I love the pattern you chose to commemorate her, nothing wrong with haveing a project that only means something to you. We would love to visit Istanbul! I've heard it's amazing. But Japan is our next trip goal so hopefully we can make it there soon!
Oh sweetheart, I'm so sorry. Its one of the hardest decisions to have to make, but is best for fur baby. Like so many of the others, I've had to make that decision too, for a kitten. Hugs from me, and gentle headbonks from my cats.
Oh Stephanie I’m so so sorry, big hugs, I had to put my late dog down due to heart failure, Duffy was only 7 years old and the sweetest boy and my shadow and my best friend, it was so hard and I still get upset about it 6 years later. What makes it easier is that it hurts us way more than our fur baby who is oblivious to what’s going on. Within a Dream is such a gorgeous stitch and a great idea for a memorial piece, I’m stitching the smaller Crow version and will think of you when I get back to stitching it. Thank you both for more insights into your stitching world 💗💗🏆
I also lost my dog this year - I feel your pain. You are correct. You will start to remember the happy times only. Thank you both for taking the time to answer our questions.☕️🍵
I totally understand your feelings. My dog was 16 and had dementia as well. Putting her down was the hardest thing yet I know now it was the kindest thing to do. My thoughts are with you.
I am with you about missing Jane & Julie like crazy! I really felt grief when they stopped posting. I hope they're both doing well. We just had to have our family cat put down and I feel your pain immensly. I sat there and cried with you. I kept thinking I should stop the video but it helped get some of that grief out. Sending you condolences and hope that you have support going through this.
Big hugs from Georgia! I lost my dachshund to dementia...he was not quite 13 at the time. It was a very heartbreaking thing to do and I am a veterinarian who helps other people through this. That struggle and pain just shows the love y'all had for her and vise versa. Lucy will send the next dog when it is time whether you "think" you are ready or not...I have seen it hundreds of times. Let yourself grieve and process it even when you know it is the most fair thing you can do for them. When their body and spirit are on different pages, it makes it so much more difficult for our brains and hearts to come together to make the selfless decision to let them be free from their pain. Thank you for being so open and letting us relate to you beyond the basic bond of crafting. --Meghan
I just went back and watched your most expensive patterns video and obviously I've been watching your newer ones so I see you're stitching Lady of the Flag. I need the story behind how this came to be 😅
Stephanie I am so very sorry for your loss. It is the hardest thing to go through so take your time and grieve as you need. 🍷🍷🍷I figured you may need some wine in that glass!
Oh stephanie im so so so sorry about the loss of your furbaby❤️ its hard to describe the pain you feel when they pass its so so hard, truly. But you making the choice to put her down was so brave. Our fur baby passed last year and honestly i wish that I had been as brave. He was in pain and i was too selfish to put him down it made his passing even harder. I'll never do that again. You did the right thing. Wishing you and your family the best 🏆
🍸 Oh I'm so sorry for your loss of Lucy. 💔 Thank you for sharing about how precious and important she was. I stitched a memorial piece recently for my 2 elderly cats who passed away, and found it a beautiful part of my grief process. Still is. Sending you huge hugs 💕🐾💕🐾
Fun episode! My heart goes out to your family. Losing a fur baby is never easy even when you know it is the right thing to do. It will get a little easier as the days go by. Forever in your heart. 🍷
It's okay to cry. I lost my best friend 3 years ago and I miss her terribly. She was the only living being that loved me unconditionally. I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs.
🌊 Huge hugs. I lost my 16 year old dog six years ago and still cry. I pray Lucy is with my Mary Jane, telling her all her tales of travel and lives well lived! ♥ I loved this Q & A with y'all! Looking forward to hearing the rest of the questions answered! :)
So sorry for your loss Stephanie. 16yrs is a long time to enjoy with a dog but can hurt the most at the end. I lost a family dog this past weekend so I understand and feel that pain right along with you 😢 sending support your way.
Stephanie, I am crying with you and just sending you the biggest hugs right now!! It's so hard to face those kinds of decisions because fur babies are really just your children with a different number of feet. My cat just turned 16 and we have been told he's near the end. These are the days when you realize just how large is your capacity to love, because your capacity for that pain and sorrow is in equal measure.
🥤So I was watching/listening while I did the bills and y'all made it go by so much faster and better! (Though I'd still rather be stitching) I'm so sorry to hear of your sweet dog, but also so thankful you had such a long time with her. I look forward to seeing your commemorative stitched piece : )
I like using a size 28 needle on 25 CT 1/1 but I have issues with the eye of the needle closing tighter and tighter the more I use it, I wish I could find a size 28 that had a stronger eye
So sorry to hear about your dog, it sounds like you have many wonderful memories with her and she was very loved. Enjoyed hearing your answers to all the questions and looking forward to hearing the rest 🏆
Teresa Wetzler is my can't do. I bought 2 patterns and when I looked at the floss. I was like nope. Thankfully 2 other floss tubers took them so I will have the joy to see then stitched. My deepest condolences for your fur baby
This was pretty fun. Lots of info and some fun look into your personalities. I think it would be fun to take the stitching questions that you got and do a Flosstube extra and answer those for myself. I am so sorry for your loss. I feel your pain. Your pets are so much in our lives. You did the right thing for your furbaby.
Watching this while starting a new Mirabilia start for Nora November on a snow day made me feel so cozy. You two are sweet with each other, and when you laugh it makes me laugh. Thanks for bringing joy!
So sorry for your loss. I remember when we had to put our 16-year-old bichon down and it still is a sad memory that was several years ago. Thanks for answering all those questions and I wish you both happy stitching. Cheers.
I’m so sorry about the loss of your beloved dog. Two weeks ago we suddenly lost our dog, Finn, he was almost 7 and we just didn’t get to have him long enough. We miss him every day. I’m glad that you have happy memories and pictures to share (even if your son is appalled that he was not born yet 😂). Wishing you fewer days with tears ❤
Oh, Stephanie! Your beautiful Lucy will always be with you through your memories. Hugs 🥰 I am also a traveler and I definitely second Santa Fe and Montreal. Although, I have to admit that Montreal is number one on my list. Allison, I feel your pain. I cross stitch and knit and the last few years I’ve done so much that I just don’t want to look at either one anymore. It is OK. Time to take a break anyway. And, like you, I am a monogamous stitcher/knitter. Only one project at a time. Hang in there. As for favorite needles, I love Tulip brand needles. They glide so easily through fabric and don’t seem to become dull like others I’ve used. Just my opinion. Thanks much for another lovely video. Here is to you both 🍷
Stephanie, have you seen the Bella Filipina Poisoned Apple (i.e. Snow White) ? She's not as ridiculously skinny as some of them - and would go beautifully on your Murder wall 😂
I'm so sorry about your precious fur baby. It is soo hard. if they would only live forever. Thank you both for the honesty about things. It's good to get to know you better 😊🍸☕️
Hi Both, I'm so sorry to hear about your doggie, personally it one of the worst things I've had to do. I don't blame you wanting to put it off, we did the same with our girl, it's just heart breaking, they're another member of the family ❤. Agree with The Artsy Housewife, definitely one of my favs. Also Pansy Patch Quilts is coming a firm favourited of mine. One thing I have to admit is living in Europe, it gives you a great opportunity for travelling. We've been able to have weekends in Amsterdam, Portugal, Dublin and beautiful summer holidays in Cyprus and the South of France (will be going to Prague shortly for the Christmas markets). I love to travel and wouldn't trade that for anything. Have a great week!!
☕️🏆 I could not decide between cup and trophy cup so you got both! I know the decision to let a dog go, and more importantly actually saying goodbye can be so hard. It sounds like she had an amazing life and brought a lot of joy!
i'm only 30-ish percent through but 😭allison making the little dog sweaters is ADORABLE. you are so sweet! stephanie, not to be wildly creepy but i think you forgot october quaker for liz matthews. i don't know why my brain chooses to retain everyone's wips, but i spent the whole weekend on the couch stitching and a lot of your videos were on my playlist so it's fresh in my mind. 🥤edit: god, i am so sorry about lucy :( i just lost my siamese cat back in august. he had a massive heart attack and it was really sudden and i'm still processing it. i charted one of my favorite photographs of him and it's going to be my way to spend some more time with him since i didn't really get to say goodbye. pets are part of the family and the grief is painful and real. even if it was the kindest thing for her, that doesn't make it hurt any less. sending you love (and hugs if you want them) ♥
Good thoughts from someone who has been there to some extent re: dogs- it’s always hard even when it’s so clearly the right thing to do. I lost my first dog from my adulthood 8 years ago, and I’m still not fully over it, even though we had adopted an older pair whom both have passed on (the last almost a year ago now) and I mourn them too, but not in the same way (which is it’s own weird sense of guilt). Like you said, I still feel like I don’t know how to be a grownup without my girl taking care of me too. (I lost her the beginning of 2018 and met my husband the end of 2018, so… she really does represent my adult single years, as I had gotten her less than 6 months after starting my first professional job after grad school..”) ☕️🏆🥤🍶
So sorry about your sweet furbaby. I had to put my 16 year old cat to sleep last October ( he had cancer). Not an easy decision or process to go through. I was his human and still miss him. It’s tough. Thanks for the videos - I’m a loyal viewer!
Just had to put our beloved Pixel cat to sleep yesterday morning. Also, cancer. A horrible disease and not an easy decision or process. Still struggling today and trying to watch some flosstube while I cross stitch and keep my mind off of it.😢
I dont remember the exact year I started but it was before it was called Flosstube, I did stop for a while because life but it was fun to watch the community grow
I'm so sorry about your dog. 😢 I lost one of my cats a couple years ago and it flattened me. 😩 In terms of designers, though, I was wondering if either of you have looked into Joan Elliott? She does a lot of fancy lady/fairy/other fantasy designs. She's not the most prolific designer but I believe she released one last year (?) that was a sorceress with a little black cat that I think is really cute.
🍸enjoyed your Q&A Hope you do the odd one again So sorry for your sadness Dementia must be one of the worst illnesses to have It’s like a double death And although she is no longer with you physically you will always have her in your heart I hope you find solace in your stitching memory of her
. I was scrolling through your university videos in the search of how to organize cross-stich patterns both hard copy (paper patterns) and digital format. By designer? Category? In a binder, sheet protector? etc. Any information will be greatly appreciated. :)
I'm so very sorry about the loss of your beloved fur baby. It is so hard to say goodbye to them. We've had to make those same tough decisions about 2 of our very senior dogs. OMG …. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Fur babies are so precious!!!!
Same here with Jane and Julie. I just love seeing them I would listen to them talk about anything. We missed you Jane and Julie
Big hugs to you. God blesses us with special pets. We too lost a fur baby it is so hard. Big hugs.
Sorry about Lucy and sending you hugs! I enjoyed the video, especially hearing your different takes on the questions🍹

Big hugs to you Stephanie ❤️❤️ thank you for sharing ❤❤ 🍷
I am so sorry for your loss. She was lucky to have you. ❤
I’m so sorry about your pup - it is never easy because they bring so much joy to our lives! ❤
(I also miss Jane and Julie!)
So sorry about thel loss of your doggie Stephanie. We had to put down our 15 year old shih tzu Sydney in March. The best medicine is another cuddle buddy …when you are ready. ❤ 🍸☕️
🏆 big hugs and so sorry for your loss, stephanie - i also had to say goodbye to my cat last month. very similar experience.. it is so interesting to hold my own grief along with compassion for her and knowing i did the right thing to keep her from feeling pain 💔 i love your idea for a grieving wip -- might have to SAL with you on that!
and i DIED from the los cultch shout out 😂 now i want everyone on flosstube to share the moment in cross stitch that made them say cross stitch was for them! mine was modern folk embroidery quaker samplers
anyways, the ama was fun! thank you both for being so open and taking the time to share. xoxo
So sorry to hear about you fur baby! It's so hard to let them go, but they kind of let you know when they are ready. i'm only 30-ish percent through but 😭allison making the little dog sweaters is ADORABLE. you are so sweet! stephanie, not to be wildly creepy but i think you forgot october quaker for liz matthews. i don't know why my brain chooses to retain everyone's wips, but i spent the whole weekend on the couch stitching and a lot of your videos were on my playlist so it's fresh in my mind.
(I lost her the beginning of 2018 and met my husband the end of 2018, so… she really does represent my adult single years, as I had gotten her less than 6 months after starting my first professional job after grad school..”)
☕️🏆🥤🍶
In terms of designers, though, I was wondering if either of you have looked into Joan Elliott? She does a lot of fancy lady/fairy/other fantasy designs. She's not the most prolific designer but I believe she released one last year (?) that was a sorceress with a little black cat that I think is really cute.
So sorry for your loss. As the saying goes grief is the price we pay for having loved ones. 🍸🍹
☕️
My deepest sympathies for your family loss. ♥️

I keep my paper patterns in binders. Usually by designer. And then I usually sort them by how likely I want to stitch it.
@@clipperrn thank you so much. :)
So glad I could help.😊
