getting rid of the different spell animations is weird, hopefully yall do good with the magical class animations instead. but imo spell animations are like the main thing that sets the magical vibe apart from the plain jane physical classes. I'll give the benefit of the doubt but I'm worried that magic classes will be overlooked as they are in most fantasy games. Hopefullly I'm wrong about that

Bought the first game after seeing this. It still has game breaking bugs, so why should anyone buy your second game?
Hope this one plays well on Steam Deck. The first one was a bit buggy particularly with UI and moving player characters.

I wonder if the monsters are playable? The monsters are one of my favorite things about FE Sacred Stones and FE Echoes but you can’t get any of them on your side in those games
Loved the first game. (Recommended to me Via TitaniumLegMan - same for the 2nd) In light of this recent news I decided to replay it AGAIN with the randomizer because it's so much fun. Can't wait for the new release.

Why TF you give ultimate advantage to foes instead of main protagonists? Original Fire Emblem allows player to erase the whole level with only two Horsemen, if you use right weapon. In this game every regular foe requires 2-3 our troops to be slain even if you use right class unit against him. And they always have three times more units than you. Your attack\defence advantage system is just not rewarding.

I hope this will come out on the Switch because I played the first one on the Switch. I am hype for it.
There better be some more advanced tactical decisions with this game compared to the first. The original barely had anything beyond braindead body blocking and rock, paper, scissors style yawn inducing AI exploitation. It was a massive step backward even compared to the original FE games. Hopefully the creators will have improved from their first lackluster showing and finally learn from games that came out decades ago.
That simplicity is what made the first one so good to me.
I think it's obvious they've taken strides in improving what they had with the first game. It was their first ever game and for that I think they did a good job, now they can focus in on the shaky bits and polish what they have. It's unrealistic to expect greatness on the same level of even GBA FE on their first try, especially in a genre that doesn't really have many indie games that attempt to iterate on Fire Emblem.
This is what fire emblem would be if they remade and old game but kept the same formula

Great Trailer! I thought the sapphic romance in DD1 had a lot of potential, I'm curious if their is any more in DD2 and if it's beyond one canon pairing?
We're still in the midst of writing all the bonds so I can't say definitively on this just yet - but there are far fewer pairings overall in DD2 as we scaled back the cast to deliver a higher quality main story, so it likely won't be a focus. We are leaving a lot of the bonds open ended in terms of romantic implications so that the player can decide for themselves whether they think something goes down with it or not. With a smaller cast and lower amount of pairings I think it works better this way.

Looking forward to this. There were a lot of elements about the first game I liked, but felt needed refining and it seems this is exactly what's happening. I do have a question. Will you be able to turn off the white flash every time an attack connects? As someone who's photosensitive, I would rather avoid having to deal with those.

I'm sooo looking forward to this :) I liked the first game alot but the second game alot like just a straight upgrade. Some seems to miss the old UI i think this fits alot more than the previous one :) So this will be a a buy from me :) already wishlisted it!
