One of the Worst PS1 JRPGs Got a Translation - Ancient Roman
Checking out English translations to old games can be very interesting and lead to some very cool discoveries… And it can also lead to some very dissapointing ones. Ancient Roman is the latter. Let’s take a look at this extremely janky JRPG and see what makes it so bad, while also looking at some of the things it does right.

Multilingual Video Game Packaging is Ugly
Просмотров 4492 месяца назад
There’s a disappointing trend in gaming that’s been steadily increasing over the years: Ugly multilingual packaging. Regardless of how useful this packaging style may be, the same game never looks better with it than without it. Let’s take a look at the various games that do or don’t have this packaging style, which publishers do it, and how to avoid getting it. If you're a fan of the channel, ...
Enemy Zero | D Series Review Part 2
Просмотров 2997 месяцев назад
After the success of D, Warp released a spiritual sequel the following year, Enemy Zero. While in many ways similar to D, Enemy Zero was also a huge evolution for the series, being much more along the lines of a traditional game… while still feeling incredibly unique at the same time. Let’s take a look at this unusual horror game in the second part of the D Series Review. If you're a fan of the...
D (1995) | D Series Review Part 1
Просмотров 60411 месяцев назад
Warp's D trilogy was one of the most interesting video game series of the 90s. Although each game had a vastly different setting, they each starred a silent blonde protagonist named Laura, with numerous gameplay and storytelling elements that carried over between entries. To add to this, they all featured unconventional gameplay of one sort or another. In this first part of this video series, w...

Просмотров 4,7 тыс.Год назад

I’ve seen and have all from 1980-Now I have every console and tons of games other great games for the PS1 from 1998 are Alundra Breath of Fire III Kartia World Of Fate Brave Fencer Musashi Crash 3 Warped Guilty Gear Darkstalkers 3 Jade Cocoon Bushido Blade 2 Elemental Gear Bolt Azure Dreams Gran Turismo Diablo Gex Brigadine Bloody Roar Forsaken Dead or Alive Xmen Children of the Atom SaGa Frontier Tekken 3 Xmen vs Street Fighter Tomba Pocket Fighter Mega Man Legends Tenchu Spyro the Dragon Rival Schools Tales of Destiny Ninja MediEvil Street Fighter Collection Twisted Metal III and Tomb Raider III
Those are great games too, a lot of which I played when putting together this video, and some of which are in the numbering segments (I could only fit in so many.)
I’ve seen and have all from 1980-Now I have every console and tons of games what a life of gaming throughout the decades
You’re the best!
Burgundy BMW, the F1/Indy 🏎️, coach, truck and tank were my favourite to drive.
I hated Eternal Ring. SSX was great tho
I was a huge THPS fan at the time and I got this for Xmas As a 10 year old kid I really wanted to finish the game. It was insanely difficult! I gave up on the 4th level I think... Such a bad game concept with bad controls and awful replay ability. As a kid I really thought it was my bad. Such a shame...
what is the second game on the star f the video please?
@@lucasbobo22 Ecsaform. It’s an awesome game that I recommend if you like JRPGs more on the sci-fi side of things.
That was a class game when you played it at the time calling it crappy is ignorant
I understand the way nostalgia works, but C’mon dude, it’s not a good game. There are plenty of great games that came out around the same time. This is not one of them.
@LegendOfGames that's your opinion this game was a stand out back then for me
@xsnpxhoff8071 again, nostalgia. I loved the Star Wars Episode 1 game back when that came out. Is it actually good? No. Saying something is good because it’s a standout in your memories is more ignorant than playing something now and coming to the realization that it’s not exactly a quality title.
Wow psp have a lot to offer very interesting
While I’m not sure if I’d ever play it, I would check out a remaster on modern platforms….i just don’t think I can handle those invisible aliens 😆
I can understand. It would definitely benefit from a modern release that makes it more accessible.
u have the same DS as me
Crappy game but sprites and parallax scrolling were awesome in 1989.
Visually it’s not half-bad. I also love the way your look and attack changes as you level up.
It has better combat than classic dragon quest first person combat sucks
That’s a big reason why Dragon Quest VIII and XI are the only ones I’ve ever gotten super into. I gotta see my guys.
This game is so badass....just picked up a copy on ebay since I remembered having a demo disc of this and loving it. Fun fact, this was the game that the engine was created for that they eventually used to create Tony Hawks Pro Skater....apparently they had a test build with Bruce Willis skating existing levels in Apocalypse.
This reminds me of when I told a friend about PS games that only came out in Japan. He said, "They have PlayStation in Japan?" I then thought of saying that asking if they have PS in Japan is like asking if they have McDonald's in the United States.
When I was a kid around kindergarten age I had a friend like that who doubted everything I told him that he didn't already know, and I'm pretty sure he was the exact same way when I told him PlayStation was from Japan after learning it from my dad.
I can’t unsee the logo looking like a golf ball … been bothering me for over 20 years 😅
I thought the same thing when I was a kid
It was cable channel E! They had a slogan at the time saying their programs were "Rated E."
Well, guess that explains that then.
I bought the cd the US intro song comes from a couple months ago just because of this game lol.
i played Tekken and Ace Combat when i was little i miss those days 😥😥😥😥
Suikoden 4 , 2 , and 1 are my favourite in the series . In that order
The PSP was way ahead of its time.
1994 is crazy considering the console at times could output some impressive graphics.if ps1 release in 1995 it would have had more power
It's kind of like a gamble whether to wait to make a more powerful system or put one out earlier that's not quite as cutting-edge. In Nintendo's case, waiting definitely helped with the Super Nintendo, but maybe hurt them a bit with the N64. I guess it depends on what the competition is as well.
@@LegendOfGames n64 wasnt anywhere as advanced to ps1 .tbts y it flopped mostlt
@@wingedhussar1453 the N64 is a more advanced piece of hardware in a lot of ways. Being on cartridges kinda limited it a bunch, though. I say this as someone who is 100% a PS1 fan.
@@LegendOfGames most games looked exactly the samr and at times worse on n64 looking more smooth cause of its bad textures.ps1 was blocky as heck but n64 looked exactly the same.ps1 came out nearly 2 ywars before and it didnt look much difrent ,thats why people didnt flock to n64 ,nintwndo being greedy didnt wamt to go for cd which coupd have made rheir conaole actualy maybe worth it
@@wingedhussar1453 yeah, they did often have bad textures due to the cartridge constraints that I previously mentioned. Again, I’m not exactly a Nintendo fan (I’ve been a lifelong PlayStation and Sega fan in fact,) but to say the games looked the same is simply false and a pretty fanboyish thing to say. And the N64 is personally one of my least favorite systems, but c’mon, dude.
Kinda pre dates apple’s iPhones with the screen flip thing
You mean Apple Newton?
Upsetting this is completely useless in the states because we no longer use analog tv
@@OmniSlayer- It never would’ve worked in the states since it receives 1Seg signals, which is actually a digital signal found in only a few counties.
@@LegendOfGamesgotcha I assumed it was analog because a lot of similar devices used analog tv
I miss this so much 😂😂😂
Was NHK guy ever went to your house? This is 1-seg, then I'm sure you're living inside Japan.
@ianmeritt I’ve learned to avoid the NHK guy at all costs. The last time I interacted with one was like six years ago, and ended with me closing the door on his hands as he tried to keep it open.
WonderSwan still rules!
my favourite console I think. Although I've never played OG Xbox. Wbu? fave console?
It's probably my favorite too, though sometimes I feel it's the PS1. They're followed closely by the Sega Genesis/CD, Saturn and Dreamcast.
@@LegendOfGames I watch a RUclipsr PS2 or die, he's aiming to complete every PS2 game ever released.
It could've been better if we could hookup game consoles to play on it just like the GBA TV Tuner.
SSX was the best
I've been contemplating on playing this gem but the interface and UI kinda holding me back. I might play this gem if I have the time.
