We thought you might be interested in seeing the difference between this axle and the one that we use in Deborah 2, so join us as we replace some wheel bearings and brake discs. We do realize this is not the usual day we upload however, we have been plunged back into the dark ages when it comes...

Explore with us our MK1 chieftain as we look inside for the first time properly! It’s definitely a special tank that deserves a restoration! We know the paints getting bad on our MK8 02 EB 05, the paint takes a bit of a hammering as it’s one of the vehicles visitors to the Norfolk tank museum can climb inside.

Rolls Royce V12 27 Litre Tank Engine Valve timing
Просмотров 11 тыс.2 месяца назад
So it’s finally time to workout why the Centurion ARVE engine didn’t run so well. A rolls Royce 27l v12 meteor will happily drink a gallon of fuel every 55 seconds! When working hard. In the tank that’s up to 15 gallons to the mile of road! 2 Gpm on road. Our symptoms were popping and banging from b bank when under load but only from exhaust, nothing back through inlet and idled like a brand ne...

Look like you have a lot fun things to do look forward to seeing the Land Rover and ferrets to be worked on very interesting video look forward to the next video 👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌😊
Great! Landy content, even better that it's a Wolf-a-like just like my 110 Tithonus! The brake caliper bolts are better removed using a 1/2" spanner or 1/2" 12 point socket, 13mm can round them off, a socket will fit fine with some encouragement from a knocking stick. 👍
What's up with the Frog ?
@fraserfulton.1432 steering valve again I believe but haven’t looked into it yet!
@tinkeringwithtanks We used to have problems with the shit steering box filters collapsing then causing a blockage .
Happy New Year and it's really great to see you back again. Looking forward to all that you do
Must be cold in Norfolk...first time I've seen Aaron in long trousers 👖 😂❗️
Looks a nice Land Rover. You could Nick name it the Mongrel Wolf lol😂 . Be nice to see it running. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
That names definitely going to Stick! Love it!!!
Last vlog was doing the hedge-cutter wasn't it? Considering the weather you would have had trouble doing videos, thank for this view of the 2025 work load. Enjoy seeing your hard work, keeping heritage for another generation to wonder about it. Happy New Year to all.
excellent to see the 110 Landy, I'm after a 110 Military this year if everything works out so will watch this with interest
Just use a fuckin small tractor,, any sort will do
as in a john deere? like a john deere gator? aha! we were already out and about in the gator so was worth a try!
Haha christ, ud think that that gator with that big fella in it would have some traction
apparently i'm not heavy enough!!
Hilarious, I was thinking that but didn't want to say it
Excellent stuff!
Glad you liked it!
Can't beat a bit of land rover. Got a series 2, just needs a chassis and a few other bits. 😂
that is the trouble they always want something!! want, want and want!! 88 or 109? i've a series 2 aswell :)
Oh no! Basic recovery mistake. Your tow rope is running up to the towed vehicle, this has the effect of lifting the rear of the recovery vehicle when tension is applied. Tow hitch should always be higher than the anchor point on the stranded vehicle
i hadn't noticed until now! yeah makes a massive difference, our Cent AVRE being a prototype doesn't have the lower towing eyes, and the militant only just moves it about as it takes the weight of the drive wheels, where as a normal cent or chieftain she'll boss around no worries! i'll blame the cold weather for giving me brain freeze ;)
Good to see you back lads
Thank you!! :)
Where have you been? Is it a treat them mean and keep them keen? Or absence makes the heart grow fonder? Great to see you back.
❤️ we’re back no more absence! Infact we’re back bigger and better than ever!! Me and josh are now full time in the workshop!
That milly sounds good when under load 👌🏻👌🏻
oh yeah!!! she sings beautifully! av760 on a straight pipe takes some beating
Yeah what happened to part 2 and did the jeep survive....?????
Yes and part 2 is on the way soon now a new block has been sourced
😎👍
😎👍
MORE ANTAR!!!!!! Please.
Drove the Antsr for 4 years in Fallingbostel..untill they were replaced by the scammell commander. Was like stepping from the stoneage to spaceage..
I'm currently rebuilding a series 2A landrover
Happy New Year, when will Tank Club restart this month?
@@tankiesontour see you tomorrow? 😎?
You mentioned another video of the rest of the rebuild, where is it? Can't seem to find it🤷
So when do we see if it's worked . 10 out of 10 so far
Another great video, thank you. Any news on the Mighty Antar rebuild and the engine you were cold stitching for it? Also any news on buying one of the pistons from the scrap engines? Happy to have one in a sleeve, do the cleaning and pick it up, and so help fund the vehicles restoration or other projects. Thanks again for the great channel.
Another Brilliant enjoyable video. I realy enjoy watching your hands on re builds and maintenance and I am very impressed with your standards and equipment you have available. I could happily watch your videos all day long, thank you.
B40? Ok B 61 Now ive watched more of the video. We had a few Austin Champs with the 4cylinder. cheers and have a healthy and prosperous new year. Butch
Every time I see this gentleman with his hoodie up he reminded me of hodoor from game of thrones
Merry Christmas to the crew.. must admit I do like the sound these engines make.. just like every military engine I can thinknof(except The Padres 900cc Corsa(the purple one) or whatever that hair dryer had fitted. Must get ma sel down to your. Neck of the woods and have a mooch around. Did the ‘Other Place’ with my son a couple of years back he was very excited about being there but not as much a I was. Seems to be a calling so I will get me parts down there soonest. That might be a few months or a year from now but the seed has been sown.. .
Definitely pop in one day! We’re a little different to most museums not massive but “Hands on, up close and climb inside!” There’s 3 vehicles you climb in cheiftain mbt, Saladin armoured scout car and guy Martians mk4 WW1 tank
Merry Christmas and happy new year. Sounds good.
Have a good New Year gents, keep them videos coming Mick
Nothing else to do on Christmas? So let's start, an abandoned 1950s Rolls-Royce Engine. 🤡
Merry Christmas one and all at the Norfolk Tank Museum ☃️
Looks very much like a B61. Had one in the Dennis pump escape I used to maintain many years ago.
Used to work on those. They were usually attached to a generator for Aircraft ground power purposes made by Houchin. I can't remember power output but 28Kva comes to mind. They had both governer (to keep power output stable) and the overspeed on the Magneto (houchin had a scintilla type Magneto fitted) I totally agree about the points 2 sets IRC and were a ba**ard to sync. Exhaust manifold would glow bright red at full chat and white if running wrong.
Rebuilt one of these RR engines for an Austin Champ a few years ago very interesting the way they water proof carb and electrics❤
Nice one, I like the Frankenstein videos... "it's alive". Happy Christmas
Merry Christmas you wonderful lot ! Hope you have a really fun time.
We had an awesome time thank you! Definitely looking to getting in the new workshop!
Thanks for the great videos guys and a merry Christmas to you all. Keep up the good work 👍
Vroom vroom! Is that a distributor or a magneto? Happy Holidays.
They had a coil & distributor
Lovely sounding old beastie
Made hard work of that at the start .
Thanks you for all the fantastic videos. Happy Christmas to you all at the museum
Is it running?
Throttles spring-loaded to full-open are always a treat to remind yourself of the hard way! Sounds like a cracking little engine, though!
What a glorious sounding engine...its like half a Meteor!
