    Great job. Nice tractor hack. I really like seeing people upgrade their stuff to make it more useful. Even better when it's DIY. Cheers. Question, is there any reduction in the hydraulic output from the diverter that would reduce the lift capacity of the front loader? I assume not as long as the grapple isn't operated simultaneously with the lift or if the diverter has a one way flow valve. Just wondering if there's a scenario where you're hauling big branches or logs in the Grapple if there will be any reduction in the lifting force due to the additional split hydraulic path.

    • @LukesJohnDeereGarage
      @LukesJohnDeereGarage Месяц назад

      Thanks for the comment! When the diverter is deactivated, it blocks or isolates that hydraulic circuit from the system. So if you grab a log in the grapple and then let go of the diverter control, the hydraulic pressure in the diverter circuit retains itself. At least long enough to carry a load across the yard and still have full hydraulic pressure for the lift and curl. Closing or opening the grapple at the same time as lifting or lowering is about the same as curling while lifting.

    • @LukesJohnDeereGarage
      @LukesJohnDeereGarage Месяц назад

      @@chrisginoc The lift block alone won't change the ride quality. The HD springs will stiffen the ride in the back a good bit though. But with adults in the back it's almost a must. With the weight of a rear seat plus 3 or four people on the cart, the stock springs don't usually do well.

    I had a 1995 455 for over 10 years till I gave it to my godson…I loved it dearly and I had replaced it with a semi commercial 400 series Kubota zero turn which was much faster in mowing but much less enjoyable operating…I missed my 455 so much I sold my new zero turn and bought an x495 with the bigger 1.1L Yanmar!..and to be honest, mowing with it for the first time was like meeting an old friend after a long time away from each other!..the x495 is an amazing tractor and I would say it’s noticeably more powerful than the 455…these series of tractors will always be the top of the line tractor in this category which no other manufacturer makes anymore so they are effectively in a class all their own!..I hope JD never stops making them!..

    Hi, could I fit this loader to a John Deere 455?

      No, unfortunately this is only for the heavy duty X400, X500, and some X700 machines. For your 455 you would be wanting to look for a John Deere model 40 loader. The subframe to attach it is a lot different. Check out Little Buck Loaders or CTC if you can’t find a John Deere.

    I wouldn't let 1 1/2" of a bolt stick out the side of the gate.

      That’s how it comes. Some cap nuts and cutting some length off would definitely be a nice improvement.

    Nice rig. I noticed that the rear fender pan was drilled for snow cab. Do you have the subframe brackets which support the cab underneath the fender pan? My friend has a 430 and I have a Cozy steel snow cab. Just need the lower brackets if you have them.

      I actually made those holes a while ago because I mounted a 445 cab on it to see how it would work. The fit wasn’t great.

    I put magnetic mirrors on my 1025R (no cab) to use in conjunction with my rear mounted snowblower. They work well so I don’t have to crane my neck all the time but I think I’ll only leave them on for the winter.

    A question on the video...At one point you say the Red and Blue are for the horn and then later you say the Purple and Black are for the horn (this is correct). My question is that the drawing that came with the kit shows the Red and Blue to be for the "Lamp Switch". Are the Red and Blue necessary? Seems to me these are not used as the control switch is on the steering column. I had to move to a different LED light because the cutouts in my front cowl are too large for the lights now, the new lights don't work. Any help would be much appreciated.

      The red and blue were not used on mine. If I made a mistake at the beginning sorry… But there are two wires in the kit that don’t get used.

      Yes, the bumper block came with the Spartan body kit. It also included a 1 inch front spacer to lift the leaf spring, which keeps the wheels from rubbing the body while turning.
