    No judgement at all because i csnt do that to save my life but from what I've seen youre essentially cheating yourself of that last little push as you're using momentum from your legs/core. I'd drop some weight and work on keeping completely still the whole pull-up. Good work regardless ❤

    • @StrengthGene
      @StrengthGene 5 часов назад

      Yes, it's not the cleanest form. This is not really for momentum but rather using more of my lat and to counterbalance the weight. As I pull up, my body follows a c-shaped path and bringing the weight more in front of me keeps my center of mass in line with the bar which allows me to close the rep horizontally. But I will need to work on it when competition time comes.

      It is not "definitely" harder than chin ups if you specialize in pull ups. People may not do chin ups due to wrist and shoulder discomfort.

  • @StrengthGene
    @StrengthGene День назад

    As an athlete and even as an individual, it is ultimately upon yourself to take accountability for your own progression. Regardless of whether or not you listen to your spouse’s, elder’s, team’s, your internet hater’s, or even your coach’s advice, you get the final say. And because you get to make the call, it may warrant you to act in a “selfish” manner. A manner in which you choose to not listen to people regardless of their intentions. I view this “selfishness” as just protecting your own trajectory. If your desired end goal puts you on a path few people have gone down, then by implication, few people are worth listening to. It is your obligation as someone responsible for their own progression to not only figure out the best path for you but also the wrong paths for you. And the people you give your time to may veer you to either direction. So make sure part of your circle has people worth listening to. And do not be afraid to be “selfish.” #Selfish #PR

    I have been doing ring dips for about 3 years and using normal V-shaped dip bars for about 0.5 years now. I can do 70 kg for 5 reps in 3 sets and have never had any problems with my shoulders. The only exercise that bothers my left shoulder is chin-ups. Unfortunately, the dip station at my gym is cheap and seems likely to break with a total weight exceeding 150 kg. There is also a dip station similar to the one Matthew Zlat used at a gym a few years ago, but I don’t like it because my hands are too wide.
