1471 Rebuild #3 Machine Assembly and final test
I have a Pfaff creative 1467 which has sat for a year. It was serviced and never used until now. I have never sewn on the machine before. I need help with the how to program. By the way, I'm really glad I found your videos. Thank you so much
thank you very much for this good video.
I have a 1473 that is misbehaving, when any stitch is engaged that uses a reverse the machine remains stuck in reverse until switched off and on again. Any suggestions that you might have would be very gratefully received.
@@Alasdair-y4j if you engage the reverse button while the machine is stopped, the reverse will stay in that mode until you stop the machine and disengage the reverse mode. Could that be what is happening? It might be easier if you call the office next week and speak with someone.
Very helpful..I had NO idea when or we hat to oil. My Pfaff 1473-1473CD was a gift when original owner died. I have the books but oiling wasn't covered. I hope I can make it work perfectly again. Can I submit questions?
@@jackiedanielsen9180 you would get a much faster response if you email me directly at sewing@ptd.net.
Thank you for the creating & posting this video. I'm not much into sewing (gasp), hemming & repairs is about all I do. I oil my macine everytime I use it, but between multiple year intervals. It was mentioned the oil breaks down over time. Should I oil it more often than eveytime I sew?
Beautiful machine. I repaired one of this model and was in awe of the engineering feat and beauty of design that has gone into this little machine. Hope I can find one of the kit that works with it.
Do you not mind scratching the machine when lean it back on what looks like a brick ??
How to use
have a pfaff 7570 needs circuit board you know were I can find one?
@@garyrichard2177 call us at the office. We can probably help. 570-676-0074
Hi Glenn, Wanted to thank you for doing the videos on pfaff 1222 e. Most informative. Thanks
Nice to watch you work mate. You're a craftsman!
I own 3 of these... I love that someone else is as fastidious about pfaffs as I am . thanks for this video.
I love your videos. Especially if ot is a machine i have. What does the e mean or the se
Do you have the creative design CD attachment for the Pfaff 1473 machine. I am looking to purchase this attachment for my machine. Thank you

As a “Let’s take that apart and fix it!” girl…I want to go to Texas and have a heated “chat” with the doofus repair schmuck responsible for that carnage!! That is just cruel to the owner and wrong to the sewing universe to have dismantled that beautiful 1471 with no idea of how to repair it. Posting this as I currently ponder the fate of my own 1471….my checkbook is pretty flat right now, so….ugh. Thanks for posting this!💕🧵
The irony of this "mess" is that as Glenn Smith says, "this was hand carried into the shop", and he stated that they were from Texas. The average distance between the two states is 1,575 miles, or almost 23 hours of straight drive time (one way). Glenn did not say that it was "a delivery", which would have been discussed with Glenn on the phone before hand. Even at 6 Bones, ($600) it would mean that there was $0 value for the box carried into Glenn's shop. Something doesn't make sense. I find owners of Pfaff machines to be quite discerning, and I'm not sure I've ever met a sewing repair person that would be that incompetent. Who in the interest of repair cuts conductors on the motor, without pulling the brushes first & checking? Also, any motor tech knows, the commutator is cut and then the mica is relieved. Sand paper is a "hack job". Something doesn't make sense!
Thank you
Thank you. It would be so much more helpful if the camera man would zoom in during recording. Also the radio on the background is too loud.😅 Thank you for very detailed video. My machine is Pfaff 6120 I got it a year ago. It's in great shape, but foot pressure lever isn't moving properly. I comes down very slow. Maybe it's an oiling problem?
Hello Mr.Smith.. I have a Paff 1222e machine.. I am unable to lift the footer up and down
I wish you would show how you replaced the pressure foot lever and the cam stack gear.
I wish you would show how you did the main shaft and dail repair.
I inheret this machine, but there is no this extra part (creative design), where i can find one
You can call our business, we have them.
Thankful I found your video. I have a trusty 1229 like this, that still works. Just need to clean it up & give it some oil after being stored for a few years. We used pfaffs when I studied apparel design in college. I learned on a 70s Singer Futura, but I love my Pfaff.❤
I have a Pfaff 7570. My workhorse. Can it be adjusted to sew a Serpentine stitch. Wish you were close to our area. Great speaker.
Hello, You can add a serpentine stitch by using your creative designer. We have a video created by Amy ( Mrs Creepy) that explains the basics of the creative designer using the 1475. The process is basically the same for your machine and your instruction book will go into more specific detail. Thank you for watching our videos.
What is your email? Where are you located
Glad to see that there are still sewing machine mechanics out there that appreciate this type of machine I've been a sewing machine mechanic for 40 years myself I have prepared a few of these myself when the computer was working back in the day great content I'll try to get my sewing machine going it has some type of computer glitch as well it does light up but it will not run when you press the foot control thank you for this content
I have a 2040 presser foot doesn't go down all the way
Why would it lock up when I turn the handwheel towards me?
I didn’t know we could take the top off. Mine makes a humming sound when it starts.
My 1229 Pfaff won’t run but the light comes on. I have tried a different foot from another 1229 that works great. Still doesn’t run. The center orange button comes on when the foot pedal is pressed. Help me please
I have this machine at home, recently it has been moving with a huge resistance. When you turn the wheel, the big one on the side, it is very heavy and moving slow. What do you think the issue might be?
Great! this is helpful. Thank you and greets from Germany
For the first time ever someone is actually demostrating properly how the tread, needle and the hook are working with the fabric. Thank you so much!
I happened to come upon one of these machines and just getting started on it. Only thing I noticed is when I use a straight stitch it is slightly diagonal. When I move the needle up and down by hand I can also see the needle move the left of centre slightly every second time up and down. Goes centre then left, centre then left. I’m assuming it should be centre all the time. I replaced the needle as well. Any help please ?
Your master dial is out of calibration. Not recommend to try to fix yourself.
I know you say don't do this at home but for some of us there is no choice because we have no technicians anywhere near us (I am not in the US by the way). I wish someone would do a video on how to fix the dial that you fixed on this one as mine is also not aligned correctly.
Great video! Thanks for explaining not just WHAT happens but WHY it happens. :-)
I have Pfaff with a worn foot pedal. The speed control uses a ceramic block with a winding and the wires are worn and broken. Do you have a method to suggest regarding a rewind with new wire?
I want to know where to oil a Phaff Hobby model 303 sewing machine?
Por favor se puede en español
Thank you so much for the excellent explanation!
Very helpful! I have three Pfaff machines and two Brother machines, and I don’t think anyone’s ever told me to or show me how to do the oiling !!! You have done a great job, explaining how the machine works and the role to those parts play. I look forward to going to your website and watching all your videos. Thanks so much.
Nice videos Glenn, thanks for sharing. It might be harsh to judge someone in a video 5 years ago, but frankly I’m amazed by someone saying to their audience, whom they can never know for sure, that “you cannot do this” or “you will mess it up”. How do you know and how can one say that?!
He knows.
How can I find out the year of manufacture of my 1473 CD?
What’s the device you are using for creating new stitches? Thanks
She is using the Creative Designer accessory that came with the Pfaff 1473 CD. The CD in the model name let you know it had the Creative Designer function. There was also a 1473 that didn't have the function.
Hello Can I get a motherboard for Pfaff model 1475CD, the lights stay ON and the display OFF. can you help to fix it.
I have quilt expression 2046, would like to learn how to change the automatic needle threader. Any advice would be appreciated.
What a wealth of information packed into this video. Read tons of reviews and watched videos. None were as useful as the 12 minutes I spent here. Thank you.
I know this video is old but I have a pfaff 1475 with a code 222 when I turn it on. How do I fix it?
I have a 1222. It is sewing in reverse. I oiled the mechanism under the top lid. Did not correct the problem. 🤷🏻♀️
