What a wealth of information packed into this video. Read tons of reviews and watched videos. None were as useful as the 12 minutes I spent here. Thank you.
Hey Glenn, Just wanted to say thanks for all the repair work you have done on my 1222se. So glad to have had your services. I am back sewing and the this machine continues to run just fine.
My mother bought this machine brand new. All us girls sewed on it all through high school. I was given this machine and still runs like a charm. No issues at all. Yes I have sewn cork, thin leather, vinyl and denim. Like butta. If I ever have an issue may I send it to you?
This is a great video and so helpful! Glenn you are a genius! Please consider making more incredibly informative videos! I have a Pfaff 1475 CD and you helped me save my machines life! Thank you!!
@@joycestanger5573 yes I found one on eBay for under $20. then took it to my local sewing shop and he repaired it. So worth the repair cost. My mother bought this machine when it first came out when I was in 7th grade. Have had very little issues with it all these years. I made a lightweight leather handbag on it last week. Good luck
I have 1171, I bought in 1986 to make my daughter dresses. I love it works like a top. I sew for awhile then go year or so and sew again. You have showed me several points that i had forgotten. I will continue to watch your videos. If mine needs work I who to talk to. These are wonderful machines
I have this machine at home, recently it has been moving with a huge resistance. When you turn the wheel, the big one on the side, it is very heavy and moving slow. What do you think the issue might be?
I happened to come upon one of these machines and just getting started on it. Only thing I noticed is when I use a straight stitch it is slightly diagonal. When I move the needle up and down by hand I can also see the needle move the left of centre slightly every second time up and down. Goes centre then left, centre then left. I’m assuming it should be centre all the time. I replaced the needle as well. Any help please ?
I bought the 1222e back in '72 and have had flawless performance since new. I did put a later model cam in the machine. Daughter now sews with it and does a variety of things. There was a family in St. Louis at that time that sold Pfaff. These people who break parts are just too rough with the hands.
I have a 1200 series and my needle position won’t work and zigzag won’t work. I’ve already sent out to certified repair person and they say unfixable. The straight stitch works beautifully. Help.
Hello ! i need help about this machine and most videos about it in youtube are pretty old... it's just a small doubt about the way to disasemble the selector wheel ! i need to take it appart to reconstruct it (the delivery boy cracked it and its in pieces now, really tragic...) ... I'm affraid to break it more if i pull it in some wrong way, can you please give me some hint about it ??? and thanks for your really helpful videos !!! you help me decide to buy this awesome machine i'm in love with :)
I have a 1222E machine that I bought new in 1981 and I have used it continuously for these 42 years. I sew for a living and this is the only machine I had to use all these years. I have not had any problems other than the needle clamp got shredded threads and so I had to order a new part and it has not arrived yet. Then I decided I need a back-up sewing machine and I bought a used one online (sold for parts) I got it today, and it looks brand new but it has a hand wheel that does not move at all. So, it seems to be seized up... the motor just makes a sound but nothing moves. Since there is no sewing machine repair shop in town, I am trying to find how to fix it myself as I am sure there nothing much wrong with it.
Do you have the part number for the 1221 upper cam? My machine has a hesitation so I looked under the upper cover and sure enough the cam is cracked. Thanks!
I have a pfaff 1171 it will sew for about 15 min than stops let it sit for a half hour and I can sew for another 15 min. Took it to repair shop and they told me it was the transformer and can't get parts. They said to use until it it quits. Can you help this issue?
Please I have this same machine how can I make the buttons work because I can't adjust them Also, the model's button holder, when fastened well, produces a sound of friction
I have a Pfaff Tipmatic 6120. My sewing machine repair man said it was missing the spring from the needle bar assembly. The reason it’s missing a spring is because I tried to clean the dried oil off the needle bar assembly myself. When I did this, a tiny c clamp popped off and I’m assuming the spring did too. Do you have this spring or do you know where I can get one? Thank you very much!
Hi! Do you have any videos related to the motor? I can't find a replacement motor for my 1222, or any info on it anywhere online. I'd love to get your take (or anyone else's) on it! Have you ever replaced the brushes or rewound these motors before?
Hello Glenn, I’m Sophia from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 your neighbour. I need your help on two things, but one at a time. Few years back I bought a Pfaff Ambition 1.5 sewing machine. Now it’s giving me a hard time, that the lower tension is appearing like a loope (like daisy flower patel) and reversing time the fabric gets gathered. I cleaned the bobbin area, changing the needle and thread etc., but the problem is still there. Can you please guide me what shall I do that I can fix it by myself?. The other problem is that I have same Pfaff sewing machine which you are showing in this video, but my machine #is 1213-E and I have not used much, because I came to Canada. My bad luck that in Canada I can not use it, because of the voltage problem. Can you highlight on this topic that how can I start reusing this machine. It’s a very strong and fantastic machine. Is there possibility by changing the voltage to make workable? If so, please let me know at your earliest convenience. Thank you and Bye!
Can you please give me some advice my sewing machine the bobbin casing the part won't come off got bent somehow and Everytime goes around kinda catches
I have a pffaf 1222 electronic and I don’t know how to disengage the needle when threading the bobbin. I have tried turning the balance wheel without success. Please help if you can. Janeen
Hi, Uncle Creepy who doesn't look creepy in the slightest. I'm trying to find an original carrying case for a 1214, and an original extension table. I also am searching high and low for anyone who knows what the vertical markings represent, on the stitch width throat plate. For eg., does the 1 stand for a quarter inch seam? the 2 for a half inch seam? I've tried sewing samples and measuring the results but they seem to be a little off. There was evidently a throat plate marked with inch measurements. I found a site with an original but it was sold out. Do you have any referrals for vintage parts and a marked throat plate? I did find an original manual. Extra feet seem to be easy to find. Ellen

Hi Glenn!
My master stitch knob has a slipped center dial, do you have any videos on putting it back?
Love your videos btw❤
I wish you would show how you replaced the pressure foot lever and the cam stack gear.
Thanks for the videos! Would you be able to do one for replacing the take up lever on a 1222e?
That's exactly the video I am looking for. Did you ever find one?

Your master dial is out of calibration. Not recommend to try to fix yourself.
Thank you
