My hat off for your excellent & meticulous work presented here. It cannot be stressed enough that this job is done right. I am distressed by the massive incompetence from the consumer technicians, who either fool the customer to discard the unit or simply don´t care about doing a right job! These units, 1222-1229 and 1171 are simply the best consumer non-electronic units ever made. They are worth the effort!
Enjoying watching your repair videos. Great to see theses machines being preserved. I have two Pfaff machines that I love to sew on , hoping to come across a vintage machine at a garage sale some day. I now know where to bring it when I do. The cording demo was great!
Thank you for your video today... My Pfaff 1222E has been in use almost every day since I bought it new in 1981... no problems except for the needle clamp and I have ordered a new one and hopefully it is a real one and not a cheap one that I ordered previously and it was not the correct one at all. We have no sewing machine repair person where I live and the Pfaff official shop in the next town would not even try to get me one or find me another 1222 sewing machine...
I have a Pfaff Creative Performance with a large embroidery arm attachment. I found your channel by searching youtube for "Pfaff maintenance," and have really been enjoying your videos on Pfaff machine maintenance and repair. I absolutely LOVE the IDT on the Pfaff. It has made sewing knits so easy for me that I don't even have to think about keeping the fabric even and together. The machine does it for me. I used to use a walking foot (I saw your video on the walking foot) on a Singer from the 90s and would still get subpar seams - a little better than if I didn't use the walking foot, but still not great. I purchased my Pfaff specifically for the IDT and I love it so much. I wanted to thank you for showing how to make cording on this video. It was a really nice bonus to watching this maintenance video. I'll have to try this sometime to improve my button holes.
I have so enjoyed this sewing machine tutorial. I still use my mother's 1952 Singer-----it still has the sound of a finely tuned machine just like your Pfaff. I was taught to 'listen' to my machine to evaluate performance. Fifteen years ago, I purchased a then state of the art Singer (XL-6000) that more than met my expectations. Unfortunately, Singer dropped this line and no longer supports part replacement or XL series repair----where does this leave the consumer! Happily, you are blessed with the skill sets that permit these exceptional sewing machines to have their second chance.
I know you say don't do this at home but for some of us there is no choice because we have no technicians anywhere near us (I am not in the US by the way). I wish someone would do a video on how to fix the dial that you fixed on this one as mine is also not aligned correctly.
This is a great machine, I learned to sew on it, my grandma taught me about 2 years before she passed. 15 years later I sew for work. These Pfaff's have a removable work top and can't they clip into the carrying case some how?
Great video. Looks like I'm going to be taking my 1222E machine in for service, as the Master Dial index you referenced actually moves around the dial and doesn't remain centered. Also, I've been trying to figure out what the "P" underneath the word electronic stands for. Again, great video. It really helped me understand my machine a bit more.
I have a 1222e that is in excellent condition that I am thinking of selling. I had the main drive gear replaced a year or so ago, so, it is working well. I bought it new and don't sew a lot. I have used it for hemming pants and the like, so, it has never had heavy use. I have the case and all original accessories. I'm wondering what its worth. Warren
My 1229 Pfaff won’t run but the light comes on. I have tried a different foot from another 1229 that works great. Still doesn’t run. The center orange button comes on when the foot pedal is pressed. Help me please
Awsome !Blows my mind of to see you working with these machines .I have PFAFF 1214 .It has started giving me trouble recently.1 the needle keeps breaking ,the bobbin parts have become loose .i live in Bangalore India.Could you please suggest some reliable repair Center here ?I am sceptical about technician here ,please help
I love my 1222 but my timing is off, ive read the repair manual but still can’t get the bobbin housing into the right position, please help, I know for a fact that the local repair person only wants to sell me another machine
I have a Pfaff 1222 Made in West Germany which I used with great ease for a good 20 years but has been out of use for 20 years - it was purchased in 1976/77. I opened it today and found it needs repair , the motor appears to be jammed as the wheel is not moving but the light switched on and the sound of whirring came but nothing moved! I am in the other part of the world from you and wondered if I could get some help with fixing it! I have been the only owner of this machine but for a while this machine might have been mishandled by incompetent users! Could someone help ?
You don't by any chance know where I can get some feet for this machine? its a bit frustrating only having one. Thanks for this upload, its very useful.
Just an awesome video, I have been looking for a machine but don't want to get a heavy industrial sewing machine. You have covered some great details on this model of Pfaff. Any other Pfaff's you would recommend that have mostly metal part? (vintage or newer)

So, the cam I replace with the updated version stitch on my older 1222e was from the 1222SE.? never knew that.

Annette, the “P” indicates you machine is one of the later model 1222 machines produced….just before it was renamed the 1222E.
I couldn't find the part 2 of this video. Is it available on your channel?
I love your videos. Especially if ot is a machine i have. What does the e mean or the se

Check in sewingpartsonline.com
I think most long shank feet would work.

My phaff 1222, machine has electrical issues 😰,even I changed on off switch, it blinked light twice but does not turn on
Awesome 👍
Do you have user manuel for PFAFF 1222 SE?
Why does my machine break needles every time I sew backwards?
Your hook bearing is probably worn.
Hi I have a vintage Pfaff 1222 and I’m looking for ball point needles to sew stretch fabric. Which ones would you recommend?
Cheers
Anne
Any 130 series needle: Schmetz, etc
Great video. So I have a pfaff 1222e. What is the 1222SE?
It's another similar model
Looking for a marked base plate, 1/4 inch, and so on; also a clear foot. Pfaff 1214.
