Hello, may I ask your opinion about this machine ? It happens to be on sale and the owner claims it's never been used , and I fear it will break down from the lack of use ,after all it is more than 40 years old
@@137mercury I'm happy with it, had been working fine. If you are able, check the nylon gear which is what usually fails and is expensive to replace. I bought mine for around 30€, so even if it failed it would not be a big loss. How much is the seller asking?
Thank you for replying, It is on sale for around 170 $ That's not cheap in Egypt considering it's an old machine , I will try it first and check the inside of it , my main concern is that it would be ok for some time and then it would break down
@@137mercury that sounds very expensive! I don't know the price for things in Egypt but maybe for that money a modern machine, with easy access to service and components, might be a better deal
Dennis, Thank you so much for teaching us about our PFAFF 1222 . I actually bought mine today but it does not have a foot pedal so I can't check if it works but I got a lot out of what you taught. I live in Tasmania, Australia. Kind regards, Pamela
Hello sir, I learned so much from this, Thank you. I recently got one of these. Is the indicator wheel supposed to spin slowly when the machine is set to straight stitches ( 1 - 4) on the dial? or is it supposed to remain static? The indicator wheel is the black dial directly opposite the decorative stitch pattern length setting dial
This is the video i needed to watch in order to decide about buying one of this beauties i have the chance to... and.... yeah the video is perfect but... hahaah i still not decided... you say they are made like a tank but you say you hade to repair yours lately a few times... and damn, i think i can see way too many plastic parts amongst that beautiful machinery... still in doubt but... thank you !!! haha
Thank you for the video , really helpful , would you recommend a pfaff 1214 , it is on sale and never been used , is it going to work properly or does the lack of use affect it ?
thank you I love my machine but wondered if you know where I would get the adapter for the long shank to use the snap on feet, and would it be a good idea?
Thanks for the info, Dennis. I have a 1222e that I bought new about 1980. I haven't used it much all these years, so I'm thinking of selling. I used it for alterations and repairs, so it's in really good shape. The feed gear finally cracked last year, so I had it replaced and the machine checked thoroughly. It runs like new. I wondered how much the machine is worth. Warren
Hey Dennis thank you for posting these! It was very informative and will help a lot as I am searching for a back up 1222SE. I was wondering if you could help me. I need 2 of those little cone shapes that screw into the top of the machine top clip the lid on. I have looked everywhere but without knowing exactly what they are called I may never fund them. Do you have a service manual or something that would tell me exactly what they are called?
Hello and sorry to bother you like that, but can you help me with some problem on my Pfaff 1222 machine. White mark on stitch dial indicator started to move from its original position. Do you perhaps have any idea, what have to be done, to repair this?
Please I have this same machine how can I make the buttons work because I can't adjust them Also, the model's button holder, when fastened well, produces a sound of friction
Hi Dennis! I found your video after buying a Pfaff 1214. I checked everything like in your video and everything works, I'm not sure with the motor but it looks similar fast like in part 2! My plastic parts are oiled... Is it possible to clean them/remove the oil?
Hi Dennis, I'm glad I've found your channel. Very instructive. I'm in the process of buying a vintage Pfaff sewing machine. But I have a question about the difference between the 1222 and the 1222E. Which one is the best and why? I own a Pfaff 18 and I'm very happy with it, but It's about time to graduate from that model and get an upgrade, but I love oldies, nothing can compare to them. I need the free arm, the power speed and the durability and I know Pfaff can offer these features. Any recommendation? Thank's a lot. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Carrie.
hi Dennis, my dial on pfaff 1221 is off (white market, needle position, stitch length has no effect). Do you know how to adjust it? I looked everywhere and cant find instructions. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hello, I wanted to ask you about the Pfaff 1222 machine, it works slowly, it does not have some speed, how it can be increased or there is a problem with the machine.
BONJOUR JE RECHERCHE LA VUE ECLATEE DE LA PFAFF 1222E SA FAIT 33 ANS QUE JE L'AI MAIS MAINTENANTIMPOSSIBLE DE M'EN SERVIR .merci de m'aider si c'est possible
HI do you have an email address so I can ask more specific questions? Can you do a video on how to adjust the timing on the PFAFF 1222e pls? if not i can email you if you have time to go through it with me. Thank you
People pay $3000 and more for new machines I looked at a new PFAFF $2600 that was the demo model $2800 new. I said to myself is the build quality equal to the old machines, no in my mind, but you could have that quality for the money they are asking for new machines. Let’s face it the mark up is tremendous and your getting half the machine.
Hi, Dennis, I have a Pfaff Synchromatic 1214. I want to find a base plate? not sure what it's called, that gives the markings for .25 inch, 5/8, and so on. Mine has lines but no markings. I've seen 1214 videos with marked base plates, but have not been able to find such a plate. Other than that, If I could find a marked clear foot, I wouldn't have to be trying to measure stich widths with a ruler. I have figured out that running along the edge of the foot equals 4-inch. do you have have any links I could use to buy one?.
Thanks for the video! I bought a 1222E after watching it 😊

What other Pfaff machine you would recommend other than this model for sewing leather?
Hi. do you know if 1197 and 1222e have same motor? thank you
