I got a job offer from western, but I'm gonna try to go with Prime if I can. I've seen videos where their training goes more in depth than western, and as a new driver, that's exactly what I need. Thank you for your videos, they are very helpful and informative.

For heat there is a good underbed heater that runs on fuel very cheap

All these western express videos I am so glad they never came up on my radar. My first job ended up being a regional flatbed job paying 0.68-0.72 cpm.

OTR is not for me…but unfortunately where I live no local/dedicated/etc companies will even look at me till I have 6-12 months under my belt. I’m working my full 70 each week and making about as much as a Walmart greeter makes in 40 hours.

I drove for western for over a year. I was constantly on my DM ass to get miles and switched to a better DM(Lisa)-best DM they have in my opinion and she kept me running and I stayed on top of my loads like picking up and dropping early and running my clock how I wanted. I was constantly getting close to $1000 a week even when making .40cpm but eventually got promoted to .50cpm. They tried to put I abandoned my load on my DAC when I left the company when I was on home time with no truck and no load. I filed for an appeal and got it denied but it was changed to N/A so it was a win in my book. It’s not just western a lot of these trucking company come up with these schemes to ruin your career or pay for leaving. I left western with a clean record and I’m never going back because they installed a camera in my truck. Take the cameras out the trunks and I’d definitely consider it because it’s definitely not all bad.

While I will say take care of your CDL, take care of your health. I am two years into a back injury. One fusion done. Looking at another and all I want to do is to go back to work. The oain is no joke. The opioids only donso much and the sitting home is driving me crazy. So again take care of yourselves.

USA truck was good until my DM got mad because I started working more with after hours DM and I moved some trailers for after hours and got my weekend load one early Friday morning. Daytime DM called me when I was trying to sleep after running the night prior to demand I drive a couple more hrs to a terminal, likely so they could move my in cab camera that was situated behind my sun visor which I kept down a lot. Which that had never been an issue until someone hit my truck in a truck stop while I was shut down in the middle of the night. I refused to drive tired, the DM then told me to turn in my truck in Texas, knowing I live in GA and there was a terminal in GA. So I drove that weekend from TX to GA terminal, the load was delivering to NC. Then they put my reason for termination was due to HOS violation, which wasn't true, so many other companies wouldn't hire me. Serbian companies would hire me out of Chicago area, but I already had bad experiences with them. Wanted me to run illegal, forced new 70 hr clocks. If I try to get sleep after running illegal and wouldn't answer the phone, they deduct $300 from my check as a company driver on 1099. Truck breaks down, they said they would reimburse you for hotel and never did when the Def tank had an issue in Yellowstone area and hotels were price gouging for tourists. $300 per night. I was there a week waiting for truck to be repaired. Never was reimbursed. Stay away from Niki Express out of Chicago and Royal 3 same area. VL trucking was better until they tried to force me into their lease purchase scam and they too were 1099 for company drivers. Now I'm waiting 2 years basically before USA truck will rehire me. I'm using the time to better my health and live with family now. I hadnt taken home time with any of those companies. I was gone at least 6 months before getting home for a day. USA truck I didn't go home until I was fired for refusing to drive tired and that was after being with the company for 6 months. Now I have local. Ode enforcement on my ass for project vehicles being on private property. They took me to court. Judge was an A hole and put me on 3 years probation and $8k fines for just having vehicles that need work on my family's private property. I don't have the money for these fines or probation. Luckily my mother is helping because she got a lot of my money while I was on the road. Tho she isn't working, and gets her SS checks to help pay the probation monthly fees. The judge even charged me for the vehicles of my mother and deceased father. Neither of which I could legally move.

It sounds like Western Express shouldn't be in business because they treat their drivers inhumanely, I have been there with that company and won't go back because they don't believe in OSHA or the Wonderful Department of Labor, they short change my salary weekly and couldn't pay me enough money, I refuse to write a check to a lumper , they almost forgot to reimburse me 1 time and I could have busted them.

Hell yeah we have done so much with so little for so long that now we can do anything with nothing!!!

😂 miles, convict express is trash. I go home everyday now, for years i went home every weekend for years, pulling open deck tandems and Michigan b-trains. I made 80-120k a year. Stop working for shitty companies.

2700 miles, $1080. dollars minus tax $810. minus food, $20.00 per day if your real conservative, $670. 2700 miles at average 45 mph is 60 hours, plus 3 hours a day loading, unloading. So 13 hours a day x 6 days is 78 hours. $8.50 an hour, no overtime. 13 hours work, 2 hours to eat, shower, 9 hours to sleep and go again to do one of the top 3 most dangerous jobs in America. McDonald @ $12.00 and hour plus overtime $873.00 take home after taxes.
