I have to disagree about 11th and 12th's run. Moffat made the best era of doctor who.

That is absolutely correct... this movie is the worst. They ruined Captain Jack's whole character that we adore in these films, the thing that we fans love the most is his brilliance and wittiness, not stupidity and oblivion. Half the time in this movie he is drunk and just existing there, he has no major role, just forced comedy. Also the main thing that was most disturbing was that how could ever in a million years Captain Jack trade his "special compass" for RUMMM!!! We all know the way Cap. Sparrow thinks as he is always 10 steps ahead of others and how his 'madness and brilliance' coincides. Now I only hope that they don't further destroy our dear captain's character in POTC 6. (if they release)

I recently watched all the movies in a marathon. 5 is not that bad and follows the same rules as the previous ones. Yet, Jack does feel weird in this one. He is always a secondary protagonist in his own movies because he's an evil man. So he always gets a good protagonist to aid him, be better, and get the girl. I think they overdid how much of a bastard Jack is supposed to be.

I loved all 4 of The Pirates of the Caribbe. I love even the 5th just because Captain Jack at his worst is magnificent. Only Samuel L. Jackson , my number 1 male actor in the world, can compete with Captain Jack Sparrow.

I heard an analogy that Jack Sparrow is like salt: He's a great add-on and oftentimes the salt is the best aspect. Even if the food is bad, salt can improve it. On Stranger Tides was a little bit over salted due to the lack of Turner to balance Jack out. Dead Men Tell No Tales is just a bad dish, and criminally under salted.

I thought calypso gave Jack the compass.

I didn’t get into the pirates movies until about late 2020 but I remember after watching this thinking it was my second favorite out of the 5 I was on crack or something 4 years ago I recently rewatched all the movies and all i could think after watching 5 was How ass it was jack feels like a completely different character and is a complete dumb ass in this movie and the whole compass plot hole was really annoying the movies should have just ended after 3 imo

The whole connection between this and Series 3 is even worse: an out of control TARDIS causes the Doctor and his companion to travel to an edge of the universe (time in one, space in another) where they try to stop a species that appears as corrupted humanity and seeks to eat them and inadvertently end up releasing a villain who hasn't appeared in the New Who era yet, who then uses technology to manipulate humanity. Oh, and they both feature the main villian dancing to a 2000s era British pop hit. Oh, and let's not forget Smith and Jones features the Doctor and a new companion trying to battle a group of intergalactic warriors who are hunting an alien criminal who tries to escape by destroying a load of the planet, which is the exact same premise as the Star Beast! Does it count as plagarism if you're ripping off yourself?

I know this is an old video but allow me to clear some stuff up, Barbosa’s character history makes a lot of sense, in that time many famous pirates were offered pardons in exchange for their services as privateers and naval officers and a lot of them actually accepted the pardons but continued their piracy under pseudonyms even though this rarely worked. I feel though that as a pirate Barbosa would take any advantage possible over Blackbeard, I don’t like the movie as a whole too much but Barbosa is my favourite character in the series and I think it kinda stays true to him

My least favorite part about this movie upon rewatching was that they completely forgot barbossa had the sword of triton outside of him bringing the pearl back. Like this shit is an insanely powerful mythical weapon and yet it's not used like it is in on stranger tides at all.

Heres my ranking: 1.dead mans chest (2) 2.curse of the black pearl(1) 3.Dead men tell no tales(5) 4.On stranger tides(4) 5. At worlds end(3) Im not a pirates superfan or anything so this is just my list as a casual fan. 4th really makes me mad to put above 3 with I just hate that I like it honestly. 5 is pretty weird ill admit but it still shares a connection to the originals so I found myself liking it more. 3 isnt really a pirate movie to me, I want to like it so bad but i just dont. 1 and 2 are amazing and everyone knows that so I dont gotta explain that part.

I agree with you 100%, without Captain Jack Sparrow, portrayed by Johnny Depp, all Pirate movies would have sucked Monkey Balls, and not in a good way... Depp as Sparrow just works. There's a rumor that Depp may not be in P6 as Cpt Jack. I haven't seen P5 yet, hence the reason I'm here watching this video, but did purchases the Blu-Ray so I will be watching it in a few days. I've also seen a few other P5 trailers and something just seemed to be off about those trailers and they almost made me regret investing in the P5 DVD. Playing Devil's Advocate I can only hope that P5 is being used as a lead in for P6 because if it's not, then for sure, P5 will be the worst Pirate Movie ever; followed by P6; especially if Sparrow is not portrayed by Depp. I appreciate the time and energy you put into this movie and when I do watch P5 I will know to be disappointed; thanks to you, but not SOOOOOOO disappointed that I will make a Frisbee out of the DVD LOL... No BS, if I didn't watch this video and say the disappointment that is P5, I would have tossed this DVD into the Sun to ensure no one would ever be able to watch it again; well at least no one will be able to view that particular DVD ever again. LOL... Cheer's mate, keep up the great work....
