The Rust nerf hit me hard, I'm so upset by it. But I'm sure something else will come along. Glad to see Stoki finally got the update she desperately needed! And her niche of low attack champions is very cool. Thanks for the information as always!!

Stoki seems to have found her spot in IC. But I am actually surprised hearing you say she outgolds even Jarlaxle. He was my go to champion for gold find :O Also keep up the good work Tyre! Also I'm happy that they actually raised the stage cap by 500. Got to 2487 before Artemis couldn't deal enough damage any longer. Guessing you've reached 2500 already. The additional favor you gain from 2,5k stage is really awesome and is probably going to open up new shenanigans in the future!

Stoki is a little underwhelming but otherwise inoffensive. Just kind of meh. She has a clear niche, it just isn't all that useful of one. Not super impressed with the offerings this month. I'm keeping myself busy with a new gearless account, though, so my OCD is satisfied.

Stoki's rework has surprised me. It didn't look that good on paper, but it actually works a lot better then I thought in practice. Biggest annoyance though is farming all those focus points every adventure. It's not strictly needed, and doesn't add massive benefits, so it can safely be ignored. But it'd still be nice to actually use it instead of waiting hours every adventure for it to build up. If it weren't for that annoyance I'd have put her A+ tier, but A- is right for how it is... in my opinion.

I think Dungeon Master might need an adjustment in placing with this new feature. Also I think stoky is placed a quite a bit too high. No prestack scaling hurts these days.

Do you recall how much damage you need to get to 2501?

A Makos gold farm you say... Hey what do you think about doing some regular instructional or evolving meta analysis videos, instead of solely the champion tier vids (which we still love)? eg a tutorial on a Makos gold farm, how to structure an AA group which would have required update vids as they released new champs, where to farm patron chores as new adventures release, trials etc. Would love your insights (and watching streams doesn't work for me hehe).

Glad to see you back. You were missed. As for the format, I'm probably late to voice my opinion, but here's what I have against the down-editting of the streams: the resulting video is too long and feels unfocused. That's probably something you'd have to actively counteract right at the stream level, which would probably hurt the authenticity of the stream... But other than that, I'm not against the stream version. Halsin himself... ahh, I don't really care tbh. Rust's buff and the fact that I usually only have time to setup a formation, then check on it once or twice next evening, means that I'm currently bruteforcing my way through anything that allows to field the gold feline and his greedy pals. I never thought I'd actively field Corazon as a dmg buffer, but her we are... 😅

who does this champ work well with besides aa

Just to note - the one good quality you remarked on for Yorven (his interaction with Artemis) - is getting fixed in the end-of-year patch next Wednesday (if the data push for it hasn't already done so - I'm not sure about that). So yeah - a fairly useless babbit. Also - I feel bad mentioning this since - I mean - I've nicknamed him Crappiráte for a reason - but Corazón can make champions Neutral on the Good/Evil axis so you could potentially use a mostly Good team and him and still use Minthara for 10 Evil/Neutrals. Or vice versa with Halsin. No idea why anyone would do that - but it's possible.

Halsin just doesn't feel good and no Minthara shenanigans hurts.

How do you know about that thing I do??

I'm getting Krull for my new account. I highly prioritize his ult for armor shredding, but I wouldn't get him in the "I need more gold chests" sense.

I’m glad for the quick return to the old format. Hope it’s not gonna be too much trouble for you. I do think A- is being too generous. I was thinking he would be C at best, though I didn’t realise his buff item was pre-stack. Even so, his Ceremorphosis is dumb and he doesn’t even benefit from it, his “speed” mechanic is borderline useless barely even deserving the name, and as always healing just isn’t good enough to warrant any consideration. Coupled with several obviously superior choices in his own seat and… I just don’t feel his buff being pre-stack is enough to warrant an A- ranking. I’d upgrade my original thoughts on him to B, maybe B+, for the prestack, but that’s it. At least in my opinion.

Halsin is kind of a huge let down… he is just a weaker and harder to use Minthara with worse availability and worse usage outside of AA. Forcing you to already have a full AA team to get more tadpoles from him is a massive nerf when doing any type of variant, and swapping Minthara’s prestack debuff for a terrible speed effect is… yikes. Halsin also doesn’t have Armor Break like Minthara does. The only things he’s got going for him are the fact that more of the AA are good than evil, so he will get a few more natural stacks, and Good Durge Ult is better than Evil Durge Ult by far. Sure… his main buff may have prestack equipment when Minthara’s doesn’t, but considering she has a prestack equipment for her debuff…. It just doesn’t feel like enough.

Thank you for your hard work on this video. I got a tad confused on Halsin but he's a good Minthara that was handy to remember. At first I was annoyed he is seat 3 but not too bad now. I not put any chests into Halsin as I was eh with him I probably will save for the next champion as they see worth it Sorry for long comment I got confused with Halsin due to my autism and hope my dyspraxia does not make me too tired as got to do loads of content. I am 8Jump 50% on Briv nearly there to the 9Jump 🎉🎉

Sweet! Thanks for the nice and clean review and for posting it at the start of the event again, much appreciated. I'm glad you've confirmed my suspicion that Halsin is essentially a lesser version of Minthara for AA. I had read a lot of hype about him over the past few weeks, and after my initial quick glance at his kit there was a brief moment I had high hopes for him too... And then I realized he doesn't have Ceremorphosis himself. (V_v) With a default +1 Ceremorphosis stack, Halsin would have at least had the potential of being as good and even occasionally better than Minthara, up to the absolute AA dream of reaching 14 total stacks in the absolute ideal case. Even then, he would have given the same +2 stacks as her in most situations, while being more restrictive since he still needs at least 5 stacks for that (and 8 stacks to surpass her with a +3). Not that exciting, especially since so many AA or AA-compatible champs are Neutral anyway. Then I started considering his option to count Neutral, which isn't worth it for Minthara but there are more Good than Evil champs that AA can use (and Durge's Good ult is much stronger than his Evil ult). So, I started weighing the pros and cons of that: losing Astarion and Laz'ael" vs having more oomph from basically everyone else? Could have been nice (and kind of reliable! ^^). Too decent to be true? Unfortunately, yep. The instant it sunk in that this official AA affiliation member is the first and only one to not even partake in the AA mechanic, all the above went out the window. He's been given the same seat as another member specially to force us to choose, which could have been a great idea, but he's clearly worse than the alternative in every way... So he joined the likes of Minsc, Gale, Dynaheir and other oddities in the shockingly large group of champs I'd tag as "can technically be used for AA if you're very restricted and, as a Durge main, forced to stick with AA as much as possible". These otherwise suck and/or are literally detrimental to the super restrictive and anti-synergy AA team building. On top of that, Halsin's kit is very underwhelming overall, especially compared to Minthara's (or even Wren's also in the same seat, honestly, and very solid for AA). His heal sucks (he's not Briv, so no surprise there), his "speed" is basically a joke (and another waste of space as a speed mechanic isn't a priority in a pushing team), and although his buff can get very strong with investment, it's not positional, and it's very demanding for team building. So even outside of AA, I don't see myself picking him over the likes of Omin, Spurt, Wren or Minthara when any of them is available. I would rank him lower than A-, honestly. To me he's clearly never going to see play once I'm done with his event and achievement, except as a replacement for some restrictions. I swear, sometimes it feels like CNE are actively trying to keep this affiliation from being consistent or complementary, basically trolling us at this point. We still have no adjustment to Valentine's kit so that the mother of the Ceremorphosis mechanic can finally partake directly in the mechanic she inspired. Durge still has fierce anti-synergy with most of the affiliation he was built to carry, not even a feat to give him an extra class or race so that he can get 4 stacks of Wyll's Folk Hero without Duke's specialization. I'd even welcome a Tiefling or Gith feat at this point, even if Human would make obvious sense since they're hellbent on making most AA-adjacent champs Human. Oh and his weak and weird Living on the Edge mechanic still doesn't include AA members, just DPS champs, which makes it impossible to work with in most situations. And we still only have two other Dragonborns in the game that can even be considered for AA, since the others not only suck far more than the Egg or Orkira, but are in seats 3 and 12 respectively. But hey, that's still not as ridiculous as Imoen having a Ceremorphosis feat while sharing Durge's seat! ^^ Anyways, have a hell of a time out there Champion! (Mostly on Twitch these days, it seems? I might not be able to visit often if at all, but I'm glad this is working for you regardless).

Halsin is good for good aligned formations, but is generally outclassed for AA ones by Minthara. My newly started gearless account is loving him, though, since core leans good and neutral mostly. He's buffing for e12 when core champs are buffing for e4. The Yorven/ Artemis interaction is patched now btw. Probably for the best, but that poor bunny now has no use cases.

This makes sense in the game, you can either slaughter the emerald grove or save the emerald grove which effects the allies you can have in Baldur's Gate 3

Halsin has to be one of the most underwhelming champions released all year, especially considering the Minthara comparison and all the best dps outside of Durge being Evil
