This is Kim Mitchell and band at their absolute peak. I saw them around the same time in Ottawa and they just killed it. They are as Canadian as poutine and beaver tails and Tim Hortons.

I really liked Max Webster. Kim Mitchel solo not so much. He really lost the elements that made Max Webster such a unique and great band. Solo stuff was ok but not great. It always seemed like he was mailing it in. Sorry Kim. Take Patio Lanterns for example. Pure drivel. I think he was one of the original shredders. Very talented guitar player. He found a formula that was main stream and never got back to the great music that was MW.

If you judge the crowd by today's standards, it's all serial killers and divorcees. I didn't see him until 96 at Lulu's, and we'd stopped the serial stuff by then.

All We Are. One of the greatest love songs ever written.

At his peak. Always was/is an awesome show. We're lucky to have him. He was always a great guitar player and it's sad no one ever recognized him for it.

GREAT BAND

You don't see great performances like this nowadays. What great musicians. I remember when I was in my twenties in the seventies, we used to listen to Max Webster on our fantastic stereos...full blast. There was nothing better. I was fortunate to grow at a magical time where music was everything and something new everyday. What has happened to great bands of this caliber? Todays music / performances don't even come close!!!

I used to see Kim driving around the Beaches in this brown van...he stopped in to the Twelfth Fret music store one afternoon...I was there messing around on an acoustic...he stopped to listen...and said..."that's nice man"....I couldn't speak.

I'll never forget the time I saw Max Webster when they backed up rush. In Montreal. My friends and I were blown away. We were like who the fuck are these guys lol. Absolutely amazing show.

Kim wasn't a huge success and maybe his lyrics where not deep poetic masterpieces but the man has talent and plays his soul straight out. You get what you see with Kim. In my eyes he has a big spot on rock in my eyes

I saw this tour in Halifax. It was his follow-up Aural Fixations that I wish I had seen as that's my favourite KM album. This was such a great show. I saw him later in Toronto and Hamilton and both were excellent shows.

The Kee to Bala. Back when money was taken instead of plastic. Yeah if you give em cash now they don't take it. That and all the phones just makes me sad.

I can remember getting this mag like it was yesterday and how being so excited that two of my guitar heroes (Rik and Alex) were on one song! The style profoundly influenced me and set the bar for my "pursuit" that continues to this day. What a song! Should have been recognized by the recording academy.
