- This is a near holy performance of All We Are... a time capsule of how good this song can be live. Peter at his best, the perfect club, the perfect crowd, the perfect sound, and the perfect tone. To top it all off, there is something VERY particular about Kim's extended guitar solo outro... it simply bleeds. It gives me chills every time I watch it. A lot of shred guitar players could learn a lot about how much you can get out of ONE note if you FEEL it. Wow. Kim...freakin'...owns on this one.
I have unearthed more from VHS tapes from the 1989 television broadcast of the Kim Mitchell band's live performance at The Kee in Bala, Ontario !!! I had the show opener "That's The Hold" on RUclips now for almost a year and it got a TON of response. Here is the rest of what I've got. See My Videos for everything. Kim's only 1989 Kee performances on RUclips, exclusive to my postings are as follows:
THAT's THE HOLD (opener w/drum solo)
ALL WE ARE
BATTLESCAR (w/ triple drummers!)
LOST LOVERS FOUND
ROCK AND ROLL DUTY
ROCKLANDWONDERLAND
THAT's A MAN
I saw Kim play the Kee many times. (My mother saw Louis Armstrong there when it was called Dunn's Pavilion.) The Kee could be reached by boat as well and the back half of the building was over a dock on Lake Muskoka. People would smoke on the balcony and once during a Kim Mitchell show, maybe this one? someone dropped a smoke and set a boat on fire. Kids ran down and cut it loose and we watched it burn and explode out in the lake as we listened to some sweet rock and roll. Good times!
I have to point out that Fredette, while singing his arse off in the chorus of this amazing song, IS PLAYING THE BASS NOTES WITH HIS FEET ON TAURUS PEDALS. And there should be no question that Kim is one the most talented guitarists on the planet... witness the end guitar solo.
I have never understood why Kim Mitchell has never been given his due as a Great, Great Guitar Player. Is it because he is Canadian??
@@jimmarshall3668 Victim of Canadian radio, all they played was Radio Lanterns
Being a person of the 1980+s , I was incredibly lucky to see Kim MItchell and his band including Peter Fredette many times.Once in Kingston, Ont when there was a horrific snow storm and about 100 people showed up at the Grand Theatre. Amazingly, intimate experience for us in the crowd!! And wow does this video ever bring back the power of the live experience. I first saw Kim in Max Webster, 1974 in Belleville, Ont. It was at the B.C.I.V.S. high school stage. It was awesome, he was amazing, he wore a red one piece underwear looking outfit.
I have always wanted the opportunity to personally say...thank you KIm for bringing us such amazing talents. ...Peter Fredette...you are a rock god...and yes extremely easy on the eyes...
Stellar performance!
Cottage country in the early 90s. My God! This brings it all back. Bala, Parry Sound, Orillia, what a time that was.
32 years haven't eroded this magnificent tune
So much awesomeness. Kim killing it with his trusty guitar "Blue" and Peter laying down the incredible vocals. Love love love
Peter Fridette is killing it with the vocals and Kim's making that guitar sing. Awesome!
wow Kim's guitar work is just amazing in this performance..Fredettes voacls is effn perfect!!.....a true canadian classic here folks!!
I've ALWAYS been a HUGE FAN of Kim Mitchell, ALL WE ARE is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SONG!! Peter Fredette is VERY EASY ON THE EYES I MUST SAY
Great to see the KEE in 1998….iconic muskoka venue!
My favorite Kim song.Pete's voice just sends it over the top. This song is a memory of a woman who jilted me.waiting by the phone. Its hard to listen to this song w/o tearing up.It's a great song, because when a song can move you to a deep emotion then that's what music is all about.
Such a beautiful song and my late husband’s favorite band. I also love Kim Mitchell and I love this song, and it stirs up so much inside of me, including the love I feel for the current man in my life!
you said it so proundly .beautiful seriously truly truly beautiful true musicians doin true music
This made me cry.
This song is overwhelmingly beautiful. I had to stand back and gape at the sheer brilliance of this. XD
Peter Fredette can do it all,, Bass,, keyboards,,drums,,guitar,,and if ever a song should be a rock anthem,,this is it,,Canadian summers ,,,Oh Ya,,,Canadian summers..and Kim Mitchell still is the shit,,,guitar wizzard
I used to see Kim driving around the Beaches in this brown van...he stopped in to the Twelfth Fret music store one afternoon...I was there messing around on an acoustic...he stopped to listen...and said..."that's nice man"....I couldn't speak.
goose bumps...nice everything
Now that solo... That's what playing with feeling is all about guy's :D
I'll never forget the time I saw Max Webster when they backed up rush. In Montreal. My friends and I were blown away. We were like who the fuck are these guys lol. Absolutely amazing show.
Just brings me to tears! This band is one of Canada's best
Peter's voice is even better live, I wish I was around to have seen them live in the 80s
Peter Fredette's gifted rock-oriented vocals and Kim Mitchell's ending solo!
A live performance that overkills! (And from a decage ago!)
WOW! I was there that night!
This was a fucking awesome concert!!!!!! worked for Capital at the time . . . . he also preformed a 2nd time earlier that day. . . .. at a place called the whipping post!!!! a very well known spot for him and the crew!!!! later that year he would step into the Rainbow Bistro and blues bar for the first time in 5 years!!!!! Kim by all accounts is a total professional and it was an honor to work as part of his detail however temporary . . . .
Whew! Fredette is on fire and Kim is ripping it up. What a treat.
Totally awesome! I would love to see them live. My fave song. :)
Great band,great sound,great place,,,Thanks for posting this!!!!
wow, this is so great
ASN... nostalgia just hit me int he face
Pretty sure I was at this show and I'm positive i wasn't 19 yet. Having older brothers who you look like helps.
Too wild to get to see this again! Thanks man!
DAMN AWESOME, lucky I'm still alive with all the "boatrides" to the Kee, every weekend comin' in from downstream, man I miss that place
got this on dvd
love the opening solo and the ending one is hella emotive!
thanks for the post Bro..made my year,,
Great tune. Its about Peter though. Love him 4ever🇨🇦
so good
It's a CD/DVD set called "Fill Your Head with Rock." The first disc is a best of, of his 90's songs and the second disc is this who concert remastered. I got it from O.co a few years back.
I'm certain this is close to the exact live performance on a best hits TAPE I had bought in the early 90s. The tape was damaged a long time ago and I'm looking for the version that is or sounds like this. It's better than the radio version, especially with that titanic bass guitar line. The whole tune gives me goosebumps ❤️
j'aime cette chanson,l'aure video na pas fonctionner, mais celui la oui!
He is definitely a great singer... but Peter Fredette obviously has more natural singing ability
BALA F*CKIN RULES!!!!!!!!!
are you kidding me 3:45 till the end,,,unreal,,,
I feel like I just found out santa claus isn't real. I used to have Akimbo Alogo on tape and back then and all these years, I thought it was Kim doing the vocals. Guess he's not as good a singer as I thought.
Warm meatloaf
