Send me an Email with your ship to and we will get you one.
These look so nice
Thank you!
Thanks
Thanks for the review Bucky, I’m looking into a saw and appreciated your inputs.
Great video, thanks for posting. I am confused about the three tool paths cutting the male piece. Did you pick the three paths, or did Vectric assign the three tool paths?
Vectric of assigns a toolpath for each tool selected.
Hey, G,day Bucky's Customs, Mate this is an excellent series of inlay videos. I'm a novice and I'm learning. I haven't done an inlay project yet but I intend to do one for sure. Have you done a picture-style inlay with multiple wood types similar to a guy on RUclips, Broinwood is the channel name I think? Are the principles the same regardless of the amount of inlay pieces and project size? I'm looking forward to seeing more in either this series or just inlay projects generally. Great work mate, Regards, Michael
Hey Michael! Thank you for watching my series! I had fun creating it and I learned a bunch! @Brownwood is the master! He is really good with the design. Which is key when creating multiple wood inlays. I have not done a picture style yet. Creating the vectors can be extremely time consuming but the end result can be amazing! Get good with the software you use and practice. You will be amazed at what you are able to create! Good luck!
@@BuckysCustoms G,day Bucky's Customs, Thank you for your reply, it's much appreciated. I assumed by the detail and amount of work that Broinwood puts into his boards, meant that he has some serious skills. I don't imagine myself doing inlays to that level for quite some time yet. I have Vectric V-Carve Pro and I seem to be getting to grips with it. I learn from guys like yourself on RUclips, which is certainly most helpful. With some good guidance, I was able to do a 3D open-book project, which when it was complete it had bible verses carved into the pages, and it looked pretty good. If I can see somebody making a project from start to finish and saying what they're doing etc, I can usually adapt that to a project of my own. When it comes to a theme or subject for an inlay, How do you work out what type of reference picture will work? One other question, When it comes to cutting the male part of a deep inlay, How do you prevent the tool trying to take a dive down to its max level all in one hit? Thank you. Regards, Michael
@@michael-m-de1ck Selecting a picture is really all about colors. Black and white are the easiest to work with but not always. I use clipart style pics because they are more defined and easier to get a vector around it. I use Vcarve Pro and I usually have limited issues. Learning the software is a big plus! My inlays are close to 1/4" in depth so I never really had an issue with it all in one pass. You can lower your plunge rate and speeds if you think it is too fast or you can change the tools pass depth by editing the individual tools parameters. do this by either double clicking the tool itself or using the Edit tab when making a tool path. Hope this helps
@@BuckysCustoms Thank you for the reply and info, Yes, your information helps, I will have a look around for different types of pictures and see what I can do. Regards
Great idea for sure. Also the tip for the stepper cover. I actually had two stepper cables come with pins not fully inserted. Once I get the replacements, I'll make sure to use this to avoid any stress issues on them. The stepper wires are very fragile.
@souprmage I had wires pull out as well. They weren't inserted all the way. I just reset them and they worked ok.
Three cables for me 1 cable both ends . One bad motor, Ive Had my Alt since 3rd week Oct and just got it running
Please let me know about the dust hose mounting bracket cost

whats up bucky, looking to buy a lap top to run vcarve pro do have any recommendations?
Not really a fan of laptops for designing. I use a desktop to design and a cheap laptop to run my Longmill. Sorry.
Hi. Very well presented. Can you please tell me what the dimensions are? How do you like it now that you have worked with it? How is the noise level ? I appreciate your input. Thanks.
I love it! It is perfect for me right now! No need for a cabinet saw yet. This one is plenty accurate and the mechanism works perfectly! I have tested it once and happy to say I kept all my fingers! I was shook up but all good. 48" Front to back (Including motor) and 69" overall width. Get yourself one!
Put me down for the hose bracket.
Available Now! Send me an email with your address and we'll get you one.
What a great idea!! I can cave my longmill under my workbench in a drawer and save all that garage space… perfect
Nice bracket
@@Hinkleshop Thank you, Sir!
Great idea ! I am absolutely interested in getting one for my Altmill. I will email you soon Sir!
I sure do wish there was a way to put that on the longmill.....
Will the bracket interfere with the laser installation Thanks
It does not interfere with the Sienci Labs 7w laser or the JTech 24W.
When will this bracket system be available?
When will this bracket system be available? Very interested
When will the dust hose connector be available? I’m definitely interested!
Available to ship Nov 1st 24
@@BuckysCustoms I also have a question for you about what kind of setup you have in regards to a tablet or laptop that you use to run your gsender for the Altmill. I have not figured out which way to go. Do you have suggestions? Thanks Chris
@chrisdesignco mini computer and touch screen. Check out the previous review video for links. I am taking orders for hose bracket now as well. Thanks for watching!
@@BuckysCustoms thanks 🙏
Sienci. Lasers are weak and expensive.
Please put me in for the dust shoe bracket. Thank You Tony
I would like to see this thing cut some 1/2" MDF and see have fast it can run with a decent finish =)
I’m also interested in your bracket. Thanks.
Great video. Very interested in upgrading my CNC to an Altmill. Full disclosure, did you buy the machine or was it provided by Sienci?
The #Altmill is huge upgrade from the longmill! Only positives so far! Get yourself one!
I would also like to know this. I have a hard time with reviews where the reviewer has been supplied with a free product. As soon as I see a review where the product was supplied free of charge I go to other sources for information.
@@deandejoseph3102 Oh well, hopefully you felt I was being truthful either way. If not, thank you for your honesty and watching my video!
I think that was a brilliant move with that saw mechanism. That thing is HEAVY. I remember when I assembled my saw. How much does Sawstop charge for the mobile base? Good video. Good saw too. I love mine.
How much are the brackets for the dust hose? I have ordered an Altmill and am interested.
HELP! Lol. Followed perfectly until 12:05. My screen says “Machine”, then says “Select a Post Processor”. Shapeoko 3xxl. I’m clueless right now haha. Please help me past this. This video is amazing and I’m so stoked to attempt my first inlay! Thanks!!! :)
Are you using a Longmill?
@@BuckysCustoms no. Shapeoko 3 xxl
Still waiting on my Altmill, but I may be interested in the hose bracket when it arrives.
Nice job.
I’m interested in the dust hose bracket, let me know when they arrive. Thank you for the great video!
you are very helpful great job.
Thank you, Jack
Looks awesome. I figured the altmill would be faster than that though. I guess with speed you will have more sanding.
It is faster for sure! I am most impressed with its accuracy though.
Interested in the dust collector setup. Thank You
Very good explanation of the Altmill setup.
Thats going to look great when its done!! 👍👍
Want one Bucky! 😉👍
I would love one of your brackets for the dust boot!
What type of clamping are you going with? You think about adding dog holes too?
Not sure yet! Any ideas?
I reckon if I could get a free one, I would do review videos on it all day long.
🤣🤣
The price on this makes it more sensible to just buy a full blown Laser Engraving machine. You have $2K plus in the Longmill, and almost $2k into the laser kit...wow!!!
If you have the space, I agree!
Does this have linear guide rails.
Yes
What is the overhead sliding bar? Can you post a link?
Barn slider door track and trolly.
Great advice to any new AltMill owners. AltMill is a pretty advanced machine. The research you do now will make life easier when you start your AltMill journey.
Thank you!
Hi there, I would like to get on your list for the dust boot bracket. Thanks
Will do! Thank you!
Bucky, terrific video! I'm on the waiting list for my AltMill's delivery sometime later this month or the next. A few comments: 1. Why didn't you hang your hose directly over the centre of your spoilboard instead of off to the side? 2. As regards laptops in the shop, all I've ever done is cover their inlet ports with gauze, taped along the edges. Easy, peasy! 3. On a separate note, you're absolutely right that a 4" dust boot, if connected properly to a 4" flex hose, will work very well... assuming you've got it connected to an adequate dust collection system. I'm going to connect my AltMill to my shop's Oneida Air Systems central cyclone dust collection and know that it'll be far superior to anything I've experienced with my Longmill Mk1 (which I've already sold)
Thank you for your thoughts! As I said in this video the hose location was just temporary until I got something more final put together. Great tip on the lap top gauze!!
Hey Bucky, put me down for one of the hose brackets.
Still interested in your bracket for dust hose. Good video.
Coming soon!
Very interested in your dust boot attachment. Please keep me in mind. Thanks. Great videos. Keep them coming!
Thank you! I will add you to the list.
Sir, Yours has to be one of the cleanest set ups I've seen on RUclips. I don't have a cnc yet, but I am doing a ton of research before I pull the trigger. Please keep up the great content. Videos like yours is what I look for to educate myself so when I do finally get my cnc, I will have some prior knowledge to assist with the growing pains of owning a cnc. My budget looks like a Longmill, but the Altmill sure looks better and better every time I see it. Thanks again and keep up the great videos.
Thank you so much!
