Making End grain Cutting Boards isn't something new! In fact, people have been using the end grain of would for years to chop on or build on. I was able to find an article of some History regarding the origins of this style of Cutting board! You can find it HERE: www.choppingbl...
In this video I started by following the most basic rules of woodworking by paying attention to properly layout each piece of wood in the correct way to allow the best possible joint strengths. I hope you enjoy!

I notice you didn't talk about finishing, except a reference to bee's wax, which is okay. What more can you say? mineral oil and bees wax. But just a tip I learned on my first end grain boards is that you need to deal with the fiber in the grains swelling. I delivered a couple of glass smooth cutting boards to my son and his new wife, only a year later to find the boards had become rough and anything but smooth. What happened, I think, is that I had not "raised the grain", as they say, and over time as the fibers absorbed the oil and wax, the fibers moved in the only direction they could, up and down. I have solved this by sanding my boards smooth, then wetting them with water, waiting 24 hours and sanding again. Then wetting them again, and sanding again. So far, so good.

Hi Mike! Thank you for watching! And, thank you for bringing this to light. I do sand and wet then repeat 3 or 4 times typically on all my boards whether end grain or face grain. I thought about including this in the video but decided a more detailed version is needed and there wasn't enough time. I only go to 220 grit as well and that always gives me a glossy finish. Thank you again!!
