I’m in a new home haven’t even been here a year and have had 3 or 4 issues of middle of the night false alarms. What’s worse is it triggers the whole house. New batteries two months ago and doing it AGAIN! To a point I don’t know if it’s a web somewhere or faulty wire.

Looks easy enough. However, even though I have the exact same lock style, it won't move back into the door so I can pull it out. I looked through the access hole, and it turns out there is a steel block behind it that keeps it snug against the opening, from the inside of the extrusion. I can't figure out for the life of me how to get the block out so that I can move the lock mechanism back. I may have to take the door off the track, maybe the block runs all the way top-to-bottom and needs to be slid out of the way from an access at the top or bottom plate... Edit: If anyone comes across this in the future, there was a sort of carrier with larger screws to remove, and the lock comes out with it. The screws were hidden by a trim piece that closed the end of the door, which did not look removable. Lock came right out. And another tip, there is a spring inside the mechanism that breaks. The spring pulls on the latch which is what makes it pop out when you lock it. I stretched the broken end of the spring and formed it into a hook and re-attached it. That fixed it. It's a bit tricky to open the mechanism since it is held together by crimps in the sheet metal, but with a punch you can release them, then use a chisel to spread them back into place to close it back up afterwards.

Great how to video. You did a great job explaining step by step. Just changed my pump, it was surprisingly easy. This is my second pump installed into this machine. These pumps don't seem to last, mind you I do have a dirty family. Thanks for the great video. What did we do before youtube.

Great video! actually showing how the cams sit down inside of each other when the door is closed and also shows how the cams are offset by about 45 degrees. So the cams need to be screwed into the door at the same 45 degree of offset. However the Viking door i am repairing had cams that line up straight on top of each other when closed. There is not another screw hole to offset them. I have not been able to find cams that sit inside of each other and aligned on top of each other when closed to replace the ones I have. Do you have any suggestions? Trying to reach Viking has not been successful. Thank you! JD

Hard to tell if both top and bottom guides are pulleys. On mine they both are. Lubricating cord is incorrect solution. Lubricate the pulleys. The cord is not intended to slide on pulleys,it should roll with them. pulleys are not turning freely is the real issue.

Allow me to recommend not taking down the control panel that way. Those two tabs in the back are stiff, but if you push them with a screwdriver, they open it up no problem. Less risk than starting at the front.
