Where do you get replacement strings for a bass VI?

Beautiful! What’s the small controller you’re using on your left?
Sarah is my dream girl….🎶❤️🎶❤️ I’m a 70-year-old professional Musician , and in my Musical life experiences …. playing with my band on the road and hundreds of other musicians…🎶🪕🎸🪕🎹🎻 ( Lots and Lots of us Musicians Meet and have many we thought, the perfect Gal …❤️❤️❤️ ) at least I have….🙄 I have been happily married now for 25 years….🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 my bride can play guitar, and she understands enough music theory that she knows what sounds good and what does not….! But after seeing Sarah years and years ago, I thought how cool it would be if your wife was as talented as Sarah …🙏🏻😹🙏🏻👍🏻 The only problem I would see having Sarah as a bride…! It’s being shot out of the water by her every time we play music together……!!! 😹😹😹 Oh well I could learn to Live with it ….! 😹😹❤️😹😹❤️👍🏻
Why in the world doesnt it have a xlr out. Dissapointed uad
Great interview. I'm surprised at her using the metal thumbpick. I have tried it and while it worked fine I still prefer the Fred Kelly speedpicks. I have tried all kinds and each has their own tone and feel. Sarah is a beautiful spirit and I hope she continues to grace the steel. She will be a part of an upcoming show in Branson and I have reserved seats to enjoy the show.
Great tone.
That guitar was the reason I learned to play the guitar, after coming home from a party 1998 watching the legendary "The Dance" concert. Man...that sound of that guitar and Lindsey's playing got straight into my heart. After a huge search on the slow internet these days, I found out that this is a RT M1. Never would spent that much money because I don't have your or Lindsey's skills. But I wanted that guitar so badly, built it in a 12 year project (interrupted by several issues and of course many frustrating moments during the building process) by myself just for myself. Had contact with Rick a few times, asked him for the possibility to buy parts. He always was very kind and answered, not revealing the mysteries on that guitar or selling single components. ;) I finally finished my project about four weeks ago and I am supersuper happy with the result. Does not sound 100% like the original, but the feeling, the weight, the shape is so comfortable, playing this thing for hours and hours. When I win the lottery, first thing I am going to buy is an original Model1. ;) Great video man, thx for your time! (btw: your band is phenomenal! "I'm so afraid" would suit well to your songlist on stage) Greetings from Germany!
Scott, you can play anything 😂
Hey Scott. Haven't heard from you forever 😂. My band and I did a list of great Fleetwood Mac songs today. Reminded me of getting to work with a phenomenal guitarist named Scott Poley. Love Rumours and dearly hope to see you again soon. Stay safe my friend. God bless Christine and RIP.
Killer boomer intro
Thank you for this, my friend!
I would add few points, the acoustic sounds were much better under firmware 1.17 which was the very first one, all up grades after that made acoustic sounds worse. Its also essential to send all acoustic sounds direct to the PA. There is also a virtual capo or any tuning you want that can be saved to tuning knob { google it}. If you were also able to pick the guitars you liked on each firmware update it would be great because some sounded better some sounded worse, but you cant. You can rollback firmware but you need old windows 7 to do it.
Headline: First off be advised they are far more addictive than Drugs. Next: Be prepared for a lifelong state of depression with a glimpse of hope. Other than that, Have a good time
After watching this video, I got a Plugin for my vintage ZB pedal steel and I LOVE it! I had gone through every drive and fuzz I own, which is a lot, and none of them worked well - until now.
Nice video and very usefull informtaion, i m new to guitar and bought a used Harley Benton. The problem with my 3rd string at fret 13 if i press the string buzz, what is your advice, thank you.
Could be a couple of things, follow my video series for tips 🤘
@@ScottPoleyMusic thanks
Great vid. Scott. Nice to brave the session with a budget guitar. Love the Benton's as mod-platforms. Have a good weekend 👋
Thanks, you too!
Some of the modeled sounds get plinky as you go up the fretboard. I had an old Variax 700 but gave it to a friend. I've been using a Roland hex pickup on my Strat and prefer it.
I don’t really notice that on this instrument, but the actual guitar sustains really well. I’ve not tried the Roland alternatives since the VG Strat…
Hi Scott, I catch you guys at the Sage/Glasshouse every year. Your playing is seriously impressive. Did you learn by just playing, or did you spend time on theory/scales etc too? Thanks man 👍🏼
Thanks Kris! Both, lots of listening and studying. I don’t think of scales when I’m playing, I try and go where the energy in the room / what I’m feeling that day. I also learned a lot of solos from different instruments growing up, sax, sitar, synths etc.
I bought a Variax JVT, and yes it's ugly, but very playable and an instrument with a lot of authentic, realistic interesting sounds.
I like the look of mine, personal preference.
But you've got a very British and not e.g. a Nashville accent. But I'm a Kraut, I could be very wrong. I connect this instrument solely with American Country music.
Do you have to be from the US to play country? Isn’t that like saying that only French people can cook French food? I’ve spent a lot of time in the US and Nashville specifically but I’m still a Brit, I’ll have a cup of tea thanks 😂 There’s some incredible British pedal steel players worth searching out.
@@ScottPoleyMusic Well for my expericene it is at least exotic over here in Europe, cause I've never experienced one over here, not even at Country gigs. And damn, is it a complex and highly developed instrument and, as I might ad, again without knowledge, must it be a huge effort to master it properly.
I’ve got a captor X, Waza TAE and the ox stomp pedal and the Ox just has mojo the others don’t. It needs a load box to work though and although the TAE is king of flexibility on stage, now that you can use a 3 button switch to toggle sounds on the ox box, it’s a legit option for live music. I’ve got an ox box on the way to try out but I think what I’m most going to enjoy is the more fully fleshed out settings and features of the reverb, delay, comp, etc. The iPhone app control for the ox stomp is pretty useless so the effects kind of feel half assed and is why I still run my UA Delverb pedal.
You nailed it, mojo! It’s not perfect but it’s a damn good solution. Good luck with your Ox.
The Mr. Gene Parsons installed one of his String Benders into my own G & L classic Telecaster in 2011. It is a great invention.
Yessss! So cool
Great interview.
Thanks!
finally someone who plays it with fingers! showcasing it is not only a octave down guitar but also a short scale bass
It’s a great instrument with so many creative possibilities.
rolling bender, duesenberg, certano, peters all make great benders that don't require a roto rooter job on your guitar
Agreed, I’d love to try a guitar with a dusenberg double bender, I think I’d like it.
Those Eastwoods are really great. I had one and it played and sounded awesome. I let it go because of the ergonomics (mine was heavy) and the first fret was fairly far away. Also I have a hard time coping with single coil hum. Been through a few more (Schecter, Gretsch) and currently have a OLP MM5. But those Eastwoods sound really good.
Agreed, it’s built with proper hardware unlike so many of the other budget friendly Bass VI’s
Seen you last night for the 3rd in Newcastle last night , incredible gig , however , you wanna try Alan Dingwall pickups in yr Les Paul , he makes incredible PG PAF's !
If Alan would like to send me a set, I’d be delighted to try them 😎👍🏽
Great video :) I will never part with my Harley Benton ST-62 ruclips.net/video/LPiyTvKC9MM/видео.html
Which brand is this?
Eastwood
Back in the 1970s, Jeff Newman came up with letter names for the levers, and many have adopted the standard. D lever lowers the Es. B&D are often used together. F lever raises the Es. A&F are often used together. E lever flattens D# string 2. X lever flattens the Bs.
Jeff was the master tutor wasn’t he? So many effective learning structures.
I have a 1959 les paul reissue Gibson and it has an autotune/keychange unit on it but its a lot of fiddling about to get the sound you want whereas the Line 6 guitar Aviax changes tune instantly with a turn of the knobs as well as many other instruments. I cannot understand why no one has come up with a system like it one can attach to a guitar. Aviax wont sell the system separate and yes there would be a very large market for it!!!!!
I wish they would update / reintroduce the concept.
Why is this guitar discontinued ?
It didn’t catch on, didn’t really sell. I think a lot of guitar players are caught up in the “analogue only” world. Also, the first VARIAX guitars were not nice guitars. They always sounded good but looked weird and played like a cheap instrument. Once that was released, the damage was done. Fender tried too, with the VG Strat.
Something I've never liked about Line Six is they make a product and then at some point in time drop the product and support goes into hiding. I have this same guitar and everyday I hope and pray nothing breaks because I know it will the Variax portion will just become a paper weight.
Yes, it’s to do with the company being sold and moved on. Poor form isn’t it? There’s also never been a VARIAX 2….
Line 6 excels at planned obsolescence .
Weird question but can use a capo with it and it still bend correctly?
Yes, I’ve never had a problem.
Great video and a nice detailed run through the Model 1's many features. It really is a Swiss Army Knife guitar and yet completely unique as well. I've had one for a few years (the fully loaded version just like this video) and love playing it. It's also beautiful to look at!
100% - in the world of so many rip offs, it’s unusual to find such a unique design.
amazing playing @scottpoley
Thank you.
@@ScottPoleyMusic you are so welcome
Good morning from France i wish know wich is the ampli than you use for play with your Rains Pedal Steel ...(?)Nice Sound very round ..// head power Fender with lamp with pré amp
In this video it’s a Little Walter Amp.
Thanks you for this info ( little Walter Amp.,)
Hi Scott. Saw you in Dorking this month. Loved the way you played the 'Peter Green' way.....
Hey, thanks!
Yeah Paul F's the most recognized. but he ain't the best ...no one is "the best"...If John Hughey was still alive he'd still be playing/recording with Vince not Paul...IMHO
True, I’m a huge Hughey fan, I saw him at the station inn years ago. Incredible.
I AGREE WITH 100% WITH WHAT HE SAID. THOUGH NOW BEING IN 2024 THE OX NEEDS A TOUCH UP. IT SHOULD MOVE STEP BY STEP WITH THE CURRENT TIMES ALSO HEARD ONE OWNER OF THE OX LOST THE POWER CABLE. U CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE ITS UNIQUE ONLY TO UA. WHICH LEAVES YOU WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY TO DO ANYTHIGN UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THE NEW ONE BY MAIL IN 2024 THERE SHOULD BE AN OPTION TO BUY ONE ON THE FLY
A new OX with updated features would be super helpful.
How hard are these to play if you are coming from a guitar? (A full scale P bass was not comfortable for me)
Not hard at all, they just take some getting used to.
