The Robinson Brothers used open E tuning on a lot of their songs. Most notably, "She talks to Angels ".

I thought I'd check out you channel. Guitar MAX had good things to say about you. Seen the 7 tuning's everyone should know. And wanted to see if you had ones I haven't tried. You did. Will try some of these. Thank you for sharing. Subscribed...

I can, but not well 😝 I do however know a lot of good banjo players so I’ll do my best to make that happen.

Absolutely fantastic Scott, more videos how to use these tunings please.

Fantastic Scott, I'll come back to this in the future for a reference. For a regular drop D (sort of) I sometimes put a capo just across the top five strings at the second fret. You have a drop E , but for the A chord (G shape) you still have your bottom E string in tune for the full chord.

Great video Scott! Are you using the same gauge of strings for each tuning?

Yep, although it’s a bit dicey on the low C notes. I use gauge 12 Elixir’s on acoustic but would likely use a 13 gauge for the lower tunings.

@@ScottPoleyMusic Yep, I guess things could be substantially different too, under the heat of stage lighting etc. if the string tension was already pretty relaxed... 👊

Absolutely, it’s always a compromise, I usually have 2 acoustics on tour, one strung with 12’s, the other with 13’s to make life easier for all the altered tunings we use.

Excellent video, and a fair few tunings I'd never even heard of 😅. Great work 👍🏻
