Machine Binding a Table Runner

      @myk2985 Ruler plates are specific to the machine. It attaches to the machine. If you are using a domestic machine on the cutie frame, I would check with Sew Steady. If you are using a long arm, check with the long arm manufacturer or sew steady.

      @dimples6596 Thank you so much. You will have to weigh it out. You will make the right decision for you!

    Nice! I’m still trying to figure out how to FMQ. Just out of curiosity, what speed do you have it on? I’ve seen several videos that say “pedal to the metal”, but for me I have trouble controlling it (ruler slips or I get off track).

    • @FogDogStudios
      @FogDogStudios 9 месяцев назад

      I don’t think there is an exact to FMQ. It is getting a feel for it and what you want to do. Getting a consistent stitch is the goal and not as easy as it may seem. I am keep my machine in the middle as far as speed goes (most of the time). I will slow it down if I am trying out something new. Everyone is different and you have to find your speed. There is a quilter who does absolutely gorgeous work and she is in the slowest possible speed available. The trick is getting your hands to move with the speed of your needle to create the nice even stitch spacing. Practice. Lots of practice. You can do it!!!

    Your quilt is so cute . I just bought a cutie frame and have not used it yet . Your video has helped me so much on how to use it . I have a question ,what kind of spray based do you use so it don’t gum up the needle I use June tailor spray bast and it gums up the needle so bad .I hate using pins . After watching you ,I’m excited to get started .

    • @FogDogStudios
      @FogDogStudios 10 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much! I have used both, I prefer 505 (it doesn’t smell as strong). The big key to using spray baste, after you have sprayed basted everything, let it sit over night (at least 4 hours) before you start quilting it. I didn’t really have a problem after that. Good luck and have fun!

    I, too, recently bought a used Babylock Regalia. It was only used as a demo in a local fabric shop. One of their employees dismantled and serviced it, before bringing it to my house and setting it up. He even gave me a quick lesson on the basics of the machine. I have not found time to work on it more than twice a week, but have really enjoyed learning what all it is capable of doing. I have 14 charity quilts waiting to be quilted. I feel like I have a good handle on ProStitcher, but tension has caused some grief. I know i will be able to produce quality quilting one day, but there is definitely a lot more to it than I realized.😊

      Congratulations!!!! Super exciting! AND YES! There is quite a bit more to it. Once I had my bobbin dialed in, I haven’t had much of an issue with tension. I've been watching quite a number of your videos. I'd love a Q'nique 19 but it's out of the budget right now. I'm waiting to set things up until we move in the middle of next month. I can see I need to make a trip to JoAnn's for some muslin for leader clothes. I ordered bungies for my sides for when I might need them. I purchased a tablet at a good price so I can later order the Pro 5 for automation. For now I have a stitch regulator on order to add to use on my Pfaff Creative Icon 1. It's got about a 12" throat. This is the least expensive way for me to get started. Wish me luck. You've made everything look so easy so far. I'm going to order a ruler table from Sew Steady. I already have lots of rulers but I can see where the automation with Pro 5 will really help me. Can't wait to get started.
