Hello! I hope you had a joyful day! I was hosting a virtual sew day and it was a lot of fun to spend time with talented ladies. I just want you to know that I enjoy the content on your channel. I hope you have a glorious week ahead. Thank you for sharing your video.
I like your video and your explanation. The use of your frame is very detailed and how you thought out your beautiful quilting design was thoroughly explained. I have noticed that using the channel locks to move the quilt across and up and down helps as well to keep everything straight. I'm enjoying your channel and can't wait to see how the finished quilt will look. Was wondering if the ruler foot gets in the way of you doing your micro stippling? I have yet to try some of that. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for tuning in and watching. The channel locks are a great idea! Unfortunately for me, I don’t have them. I tried changing out the feet but because there is so much back and forth, I chose to figure out how to FMQ with the ruler foot on. It took a little practice to stay within the lines, but now it is second nature. The ruler foot does not get in my way when I am micro stippling any more. Thank you again!!!
I love this! I just ordered the Grace Cutie and cannot wait to get started. I’m confused however, on whether or not I need a stitch regulator? Does it come with one? Does it work without it? And what is the advantage to having one? They seemed pretty expensive, so I want to be sure before I get one. Thank you!
Thank you so much. Are you going to be using your domestic sewing machine? If yes, you can use it on the curie frame with out a stitch regulator, by using your start and stop button, if your machine has one. Otherwise you will have to use your foot pedal, and most cords are not long enough to reach the back of a machine and the area where you would need it. Most of the work I had done using the Cutie frame was with my Qnique19 which is a longarm machine. I hope that makes sense.
@@FogDogStudios thanks so much for the clarification! Yes , I’ll be using my domestic and it does have a start/stop button, so hopefully it will do what I need it to do. I do love watching your Qnique19 work, though ! Maybe I’ll look into one. Thanks for the response!
Love watching your videos great tips, you make it look so easy I'm a beginner not good at it yet, can you tell me what thread weight you use mine keeps breaking
I use all sorts of different threads, but my favorites are Aurifil both 50 wt and 40 wt. I've had my Cutie frame and Qnique19 for one year now. I have found that if I am running into a lot of thread breaking issues, (which happens from time to time) then my tension really needs to be adjusted. This takes time and patience, but once you get it all dialed in, everything usually works great. When I run into those issues now, I run through a process. I re-thread my machine. Test stitch. If thread still breaks, pull bobbin, re-thread bobbin, test bobbin tension and adjust if necessary. If thread still breaks, loosen upper tension a couple of turns and test again - check the thread tensions by looking at whether or not they are even top and bottom. I hope this helps. It takes a bit of time and patience to get everything dialed in.
In this particular video, this machine is a long arm machine designed to only use on a frame. You can use a domestic sewing machine like the Juki tl2010q or a baby lock jazz II. These machines can be used both on and off the frame.
I need to reach out to you regarding a question about the q’nique 19 and the cutie frame - I’m new and have both but my machine is difficult to move on the frame and nobody can seem to help me - is it hard to move your machine? like do you have to engage your stomachs muscles to move the thing around like I do? It seems like you are doing this one handed ....
Oh my, that is not good! It should not be hard to move the machine at all! There are a number of things that could be causing this. Would it be easier to call? You can email me your phone # and I can give you a call.
AS I had mentioned in my first reply, there are a number of things that could cause that. It could be drag. Make sure that your frame is set high enough fo clear the base of the machine when a quilt is loaded. The back bar needs to be maybe a fingers thickness (about a 1/4" to 3/8"). Second, make sure the hopping foot (which ever foot you have on your machine is not dragging (set too low). This could cause drag too. Another is the quilt itself. if the quilt is too thick, it can "flop" toward the back of the machine and create a horrible drag. These are a few of the more simple things. If you have gone through all of the check and double checks, definitely call Grace Company. You should be able to move your machine around with two fingers. I hope this helps!
I didn’t write the pattern, but being that everything is based on 2 1/2” shapes, I’m guessing you probably could. You would have to work out the math. You would probably need two of each fabric though.

Great job. Love your work❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for the video 😊👍💕
You're welcome 😊
The quilting motif you chose is perfectly beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Don't you just love the 4 n 1 MINI rulers ? I LOVE working with them on the Cutie frame ;)
Oh my gosh yes! I wish I had found these a while ago! I have soooooo many rulers an all sorts of different shapes and sizes!
Great demo. I’m considering a setup like yours. I have space constraints. Your quilt is lovely. New subbie ❤
Thank you so much. The Qnique19 on the Cutie frame are a a perfect match.
You have to start so where - welcome aboard! ❤️
Thanks for good tips on putting quilt on frame. I use the same stitch settings on my 19. I watch from Oregon coast.
Thank you for watching. If there is anything you would like to see , let me know!

I used a little silicone spray on edge o f template and ruler foot and that reduced squeak.
Perfect! Will have to pick some up.

Is this pattern friendly to jelly roll
Strips or layer cakes? I looked up the pattern, but it doesn’t say.

What machine do you have?
I have the Qnique19 on the Cutie Frame. I absolutely love it too!
