Nice truck, good work! 👍
Thank you.
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 you're welcome and just subscribed 👍
Hey Tom!!! So, I have my x3 tow truck, and just got the 6x6 version as well! Have you had to order parts from Cross yet? I find their parts search very difficult to navigate, and they only show a fraction of the parts no matter which search terms I use. Tried emailing their support email, over a week ago, and no response. I busted a driveshaft because I installed an Axe system in it and it got away on me lol... I have stainless aftermarket shafts coming, but I am sure other things will break in the future. Any input would be greatly appreciated sir!
You honestly can't go wrong with Vanquish Incision driveshafts. I use them on everything bit my TRX4. I run crazy power in 2 of my TRX4s(Holmes-Hobbies 1/8th 4274s Puller Pro's. They literally have 1/6th size rotor. They make over 3hp on 3s but good for 6s. I've asked John face-to-face). I've never broken anything on my TRX4s. They have very good plastics. So, do a little research & see if the TRX4 shaft will fit the X3. I'm just thinking they might be too short. I'd befriend Robert Mazza. Robert owns a hobby shop back east, and he's the one that brought Cross RC to the states. He also recently found a big distributor to help get Cross parts to venders/hobby shops. He had a distributor before, but they went under, hence the problem getting parts. I believe Amain is carrying Cross again. That's where I bought my first two Cross rigs. If you have a manual with part numbers, I believe AliExpress has Cross parts.
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 I ended up contacting the dealer it came from out of Ohio. He said he's working on the parts lists on the site. He stated hes trying to get the info from Cross so he can put together a comprehensive parts list. The both of my EMO rigs only came with a thumb drive, with an assembly guide, but no part numbers. I think they're awesome machines, but kinda frustrating that the parent company isn't offering more support for the sellers in the US to service their customers. But the fella I am dealing with in Ohio is very responsive with replies and realizes its an issue.
@applefordguy76 That's good to hear. Robert Mazza has always helped me out in the past. But honestly, my Cross rigs don't break very often.
this has removed all doubt about getting a RhinoESC for my Emo X3 now LOL Curious about the gear chatter, were you able to elimate that chatter or do you know what is causing it?
Don't take :gear chatter" as a bad thing. It's a word I got from John Holmes. It just means "all you're hearing is the gears moving." The Ryino is nearly a completely quiet esc. This video was done in about 70° weather. The motor and esc were fine with the stock 14t pinion. However, I don't it about a month ago in 90+ weather and both esc and motor got hot. I did several things to resolve the issue. I replaced the 1950kv 540-L Revolver with a 1400kv Revolver. I dropped the pinion.from.a 14t to a 10t. Lastly, I cut off the plastic from the heatsink on the esc. Any two of these most likely wouldn't fixed the heat. But I like to be on the far side of reliable. And the drop in pinion and lower kv , it's still plenty fast. The 14t pinion and 1950kv motor, honestly it was too fast for a trail/crawler rig. The 1400kv Revolver is my favorite outrunner anyway.
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 Thank you for that, I was wondering about the heat from these ESCs and motors on these larger rigs too. a lot of the Rhino stuff is used on comp crawlers and really light rigs, so sounds like with the right motor and pinion it shouldnt be a problem. I will likely get a couple different pinions now to play with when I do make the purchase. Really good info, thank you!
@mackmcd8725 The 1400 & 1000kv Revolver draws very little amps. They are such torque-dense motors and don't take much for them to move a heavy rig. My wife driving my Son's 10 pound TRX4 with a 1400kv Revolver and a 2200mAh battery will run for 3 hours. I have a 1000kv Revolver in my 30-pound BC8 Mammoth and just swapped out to a Ryino esc. I used it at Pro-Line By The Fire a couple of weeks ago with no heating issues at all.
Hello. What body is that ? Looks cool
That is the 1/10th scale Gravedigger body. I honestly don't remember who made it. From a quick search, it looks like a Jconcepts body. Amain has one. Check the wheelbase before buying.
What battery connection does it have?
Factory? I don't remember. I believe I put XT60 connectors. I have a split between Dean's and 60s.
How much did you sell it for?
It wasn't mine. I went with my uncle to buy it.
need a new driver
Hahaha. Probably.
U need limited straps for front will solve front rise up
Ya, I was thinking about that. Maybe some homemade straps from the stretchy parachute cord.
looks like you aired down to about 4 psi
Hahaha. I'm right at 4psi. 😆 I put in new foams since then.
you need 3d prenter and scaner so you can make some casing mods

Hi Tommad, Looks great ! Hopefully we'll see you out at PLBTF. BTW I'm "moder" in your Tehachapi group.
Oh, ok. Cool. Me and my Son's will probably be camping on the east side of the horse corral. My red 96 Dodge Cummins on 35 should be there. Stop by and say high. If we're not there, we're either crawling or running an event.
I have that titan 775 in my trx6 on 4s it's awesome!
It's a strong, torquay motor. I like the way it crawls, and of course, what I just mentioned. Reminds me of an Old-School Bigblock from the 60s, and early 70s. It'd be cool if Holmes-Hobbies made one with better copper, magnetics, brushes & bearing.
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 it would probably be too strong if HH did one lol the magnum line is already kinda nutty 😂
@frankie2499 Before I went brushless on everything, I used a Level3RC Dual Motor & two Crawlmaster Pro's. That was such an awesome combo. I modified the Level3RC Motor Mount to fit the 775-Titan. It appeared to have the same torque with a lower center-of-gravity. I loved both combinations. Unfortunately the run-time with the 775 was less than have of the dual Crawlmasters. I'd get 2 hours with the CMs on a 2200mAh 3s and only 40 minutes with the 775.
Yeah, that would be my choice out Runner, I want one of those tow trucks so bad, appreciate the video. Catch you on the next one.👍👍😎
Thank you. Yes, I love the motor/esc combo. Hoping it's reliable out at Pro-Line By The Fire in a few short weeks.
Love that bridge super cool dude awesome course great job👍👍
Thank you. I recently had to fix it. The logs were coming off.
That was awesome. I love it.👍👍😎
I have the gt5 as well. Been using it for years. No issues at all. Great controller. Cheap and it comes with a receiver. I use channel 6 for my suck down micro winch on vrd carbon. I like that I can turn the knob how much I want to chinch down the front. I just picked up that same rhino esc. Is it hard to program?. Maybe do video?
I haven't had to program it yet. The settings from the factory have been spot-on for my use so far...but if I do program it, I'll try to remember to do a video. Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated.
Looks great On all videos even 4 years back😃 I’ll send you some clips When i get it in the Trx-6 G63….
Awesome. Would love to see it when you get it going with the bigblock.
thats awesome
What did you do to upgrade the IFS? Looks like you extended the A arms? What ever ya did it worked good and with torsion bars?
It's an kid using rebuilt, reinforce(boxed) & extended arms by "Blazeland." He's in Los Angeles. Look up instagram.com/warrunner?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== He can give you all the details. I've been offloading with him many times. It's a very capable set-up.
Thanks for all the great vids! Can you give me an honest answer, is it worth the wait and the $$$? Been eying it up for a while, and hesitant pull the trigger on it. Have you broken anything yet? If so, how is parts support for this rig?
Yes. It's worth it. I'd buy this over a TRX4. It's very similar to a TRX4, just much more. Honestly, only upgrades it needs is the motor/esc/steering servo of your choice. Get a Fusion, any of them, get a stronger steering servo, and you're done. You could ad some brass stuff to the front and star cut the foams if you want. The stock tires are really good. You could even go cheaper with a Hobbywing 1080 and a Holmes-Hobbies TorqueMasters 550 motor...however, it's a heavy truck, so a brushless is best. I love outrunner motors because of the crazy torque-density. I went with a 1950kv 540-L Revolver and a AM32 80A Ryino esc. It has everything. Another option is a 4274S from Holmes-Hobbies if they are in stock and pair it with a Mamba X. Hobbywing also has a new motor combo that big AND it has FOC which would be awesome. Hope this helps. Enjoy.
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 thanks for the info! I run the all in one Fusion Pro on both my TRX 4s and my TRX 4 knock off "beluga" lol. I want a larger scale rig and can't bring myself to dish out over 1,000 bucks for an SCX6. I think this rig will bring me to my happy place ☺️
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 not to mention I'm a Ford guy and this rig definitely is modeled off the 80-86 bullnose Ford trucks. I love all RC but scale is where it's at!
I got mine today! It's a beautiful machine! Only thing I noticed right off the bat. Shocks are awfully light. Did you put heavier oil in yours? I think I've watched all of your vids but I don't remember. RC is an addictive hobby and I find myself watching countless how tos and builds, I lose track lol
@applefordguy76 First-off, congratulations on the new Tow-Truck. That is awesome, and I hope you have a ton of fun with it. Thank you. Appreciate the feedback and views. No, Sir...I didn't touch the shocks. They are a piece of art and work really well. I have more planned for the Emo X3 Tow-Truck, I've just been busy, a little burned out, and I had a long and much needed vacation. Now I'm getting about 10 rigs ready for Pro-Line By The Fire this coming September. Future plans are a custom front bumper or modify the stock one to fit a very strong servo winch, try to increase the efficiency of the tow winch by replacing the winch controller or tow winch or both. Much later, I might play with a 1/8th motor or a single speed transmission with a DIG or both. Currently, I'm putting the stock tires back on with tuned foams inside. Stock tires really are that good.
Use the dip switches in the radio to reverse the diff lock servos to light up when on I.e locked it’s pretty simple.
I'll have to look at the thumb drive instructions that came with the rig. But I didn't notice anything for the radio the first time.
Where can I find those hubs?
Właśnie takiego "malucha" uzbrajam w dodatki i zastanawiam się nad silnikiem? 😄
thats some quality content right there. from Alberta Canada❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you.
if you get a Hobbywing programming card you should be able to add some drag break to the X3. I will be doing this when I get mine, I have heard it comes with none active.
Thank you. I have a Hobbywing programming card for the 880. It didn't help. Maybe I changed some else in the programming that hurt the drag-brake. I don't know. I don't think I did, but it's possible. I've tuned 7 or 8 Hobbywing set-ups with no problems.
Ini bukan rc, tapi alien🗿
Why 1/8 I wonder? I really wish someone made a 1/10. With all the popularity in “off road wrecker” channels it could be a cool 1/10 concept
Your guess is probably better than mine why they went that big. My guess is the Emo platform is extremely durable and has similar features as the extremely popular TRX4 platform, just a little bigger. I wish it was more popular for the aftermarket support.
If it was in line with my other 1/10 scale rigs I'd own one already. But it don't fit my scale lay out or my other rigs. It's a shame because it's cool.
I totally get that. Myself, I like a true 1/10th size. Most rigs are 1/9-ish. All the popular rigs like Axial, Element, Redcat....they're 1/9. Well, except Elements Suzuki Samurai, it's between 1/7 & 1/8th. My Cross tow truck is 1/8th. A Clodbuster & Blackfoot body, which I grew up on is a true 1/10(1/10.3, or something like that). Again, I agree with you. It just looks better having all the same scale & flipping parts(such as tires) is easier.
love it
Thank you.
Nice my friend any good video and sweet looking truck good to see u on the rocks my friend 🙏🏻🤙💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Cool. Hope you have alot of fun with it.
Made me think of the Stubby Bob episode of Roadkill.
Hahaha. I remember that episode. Whatever happened to that truck?
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 last I saw they had it under a tarp in a storage lot. It's time they brought it back.
Did you change any of the gearing ? I’ll be at the hobby shop Saturday and I’ll look into the Combo your running Very impressive 👍
That's a good question. I'm pretty sure I dropped 3 teeth down from the stock pinion. That was it. And I cut a small X in the esc shrink wrap and clicked the bec up to 7.4. I checked the Cross RC servos that do the shifting of the 2-speed and diff locks, they are good for 7.4. Double check my earlier video where I actually install and test this set-up, just to make sure.
Rhino AM32 Crawler 80a ESC and Holmes-Hobbies 540-L Revolver. I love this combo. The Rhino esc is good for 8s, but it'll never see anything more than 4s from me.
I’m just running 3s and that’s plenty
Oh, definitely. 3s is plenty. I ran 4s for years, probably 10-11 years ago till about 4 years ago. It was never necessary. I did like the extra wheel speed on my brushed rigs and my early outrunner rigs. 2-speeds and brushless and also the leds and winches just worked better with 3s. I run a couple of huge Holmes-Hobbies 4274S 1/8th motors that have massive 1/6th size rotor in them in a couple TRX4's....I don't think they'd stay together if I ran them on 4s. I don't think the bigger Cross Tow-Truck would handle the extra out-put that 540-L would make on 4s very long. I honestly think it has as much torque as the 4274S motors...not the horses but torque-density.
2:08 you mean signal the aliens
Hahaha. That's what I did wrong...or right. Hahaha
Still junk to this day.
Always that one Debbie-downer...or Bobby-bummer in this case. Lol There's no perfect RC. We all make them into what we want.
Thks for sharing bro! Do u have any great ideas that we can upgrade or make the rear winch motor to be faster 😊
Thanks for watching. The winch motor run really slow, obviously as you seen. I'm thinking the little winch controller could be limited to 6 or 7 volts. I bought a Hobbywing 1060 going to replace it with and run it direct power to the 3s battery that's running the rig. I'll be doing a video but not sure when I'll get to it.....if you beat me to it. Video it, so I can see. Hahaha
Beast of a truck 💪. Definitely a 1/8th scale. Would love to get one of these. 👍
You'd really like it. It definitely has a cool-factor.
Just placed an order for one in grey. Im looking for to do a lil trailing with this beast in Florida.
Awesome. You'll like it.
This is awesome been eyeing them for a bit. Thinking of selling one of my mtb’s to buy one😂 thanks for the video, God bless you and your family piece and blessings
Thank you. Very much appreciated 🙏. I think you'd have alot of fun with it. It does need some brass on the front somewhere. It has a pretty heavy bed. But it's built like a tank...really, an overbuilt TRX4. What is a mtb?
Awesome Thks for sharing 😊
Thank you.
Thks for sharing your experience.I’ve subscribed 😊Bro any link to buy the brass weight for the wheel
These fit really well with the stock wheels, I'm not so sure with other wheels. Seems everyone has the same manufacturer for knuckle weight. Sellers on eBay that's here in the USA don't have the brass in stock...they're just the middle man and still orders from China using the slow boat. Cross RC US is more expensive but looks to be the same brass parts, I can't be sure. Here's what I have. www.ebay.com/itm/354946724734?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=wv_virrsqkm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=zGm4qqJ8RKC&var=624234186343&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Ours just came in the other day and we're using it to tow all our broken junk. We love it! We went with Hobbysoul 2.2 beadlocks and a set of knockoff Proline 2 stage foams. So far very good with stock tires. Proline Super Swamper 5.40" tires showed up today for testing on it.
The PL TSL's are definitely a favorite. I might get another set for my tow-pig...they're the same size as stock. I have them.on my BC8 Mammoth. You're right, stock tires are really nice. I'll take a look-see at the wheels.
My passion besides RC driving is airbrushing RC bodies,so I'd like to know before I purchase this, is are there any aftermarket bodies yet that would fit this rig? I love the body it comes with but Im not feeling the Tiger decals...
I totally understand that. In the near future, I'll be slightly changing the color , but obviously painting it from the outside. I've seen the same body, unpainted from Aliexpress, but it's not cheap. As for size, they are BIG. Smaller than an SCX6 but smaller than the Pro-Line K10 body on my TRX4 "Killer Wasp. Unfortunately, no, I haven't seen any other body that will fit the Wrecker besides other Cross 1/8 Emo X models.
Ok cool, thanks a bunch bro.
Where did you get yours from, and how long did you wait for arrival? I've been thinking about getting one, but I can't get a good answer on availability and wait times.
I bought mine directly from the US Cross RC website. I'm thinking their warehouse is here but biling center is out of the country because I didn't pay taxes and they had the best price. However, the shipping kills the price. If I remember right, it was $615 to my front door...shipping was $65. If you can get it for under $560 and free shipping, you might save $15-20. Oh, I waited a week.
