      Thank you. Very much appreciated 🙏.
      I think you'd have alot of fun with it.
      It does need some brass on the front somewhere. It has a pretty heavy bed.
      But it's built like a tank...really, an overbuilt TRX4.
      What is a mtb?

    I have been eyeing this for months and it's definitely worth the price but i just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on it yet. It even has a Bullnose Ford 80-85 body and I personally own a 84 F150.
    CrossRC is a step above the more prominent brands sold in North America. We love our JT6 flatbed. Excellent video!

      Thank you for the kind words. Very much appreciated.
      You have a Bullnose F150, all the more reason to buy one. 😆
      Honestly(as always), you won't regret the purchase.
      The Tow-Truck is everything the TRX4 is, only bigger with a few fixes Traxxas should've had...the main thing being able to lock the differentials independently of each other.
      If you're worried about putting money into it...you don't need to. Star-cut the foams and put a 16-tooth pinion on the motor.
      Oh, one thing, Cross's billing is out of the country so you don't have taxes but the shipping is expensive($65). You might save more paying taxes and getting free shipping.

      @Shadows-RC 6 месяцев назад

      @tomlucasrccrawlers9108 Summit is an interesting truck. I built up an old 2 speed 3906 E-Maxx with helical steel gears in an aluminum transmission case recently. Made my own slipper clutch assembly for 6s. Hope it holds up. Summit tires. Lifted with longer ZD Racing shocks and Hot Racing's discontinued adjustable shock towers. Sensored Castle MMX system. Geared as low as possible with 72T spur 13T pinion. Proline Bronco body and custom water jug cap bucket lights. Have to tweak the programming and get it soldered to EC5's. Earplug putty in diffs. My version of a Summit.

    Yep same here I saw it & I’ve been doing research ever since but until recently there has not been much information on them so I appreciate it I don’t know if the chassis is the same as some of the other Emo’s or if this one is different or a upgraded version. I like it a lot.

      Robert Mazza said this is the third Emo rig...tho, a few small changes were made to fit the bed.
      I've been burned out on this hobby for a long time...I've been doing this since 1989. This Tow-Truck has kinda reignited my enthusiasm for now, which is nice.
      I'm slowly making changes....one change always seems to create a necessity to change something else, i.e., better foams created more traction. With traction, I want smoother throttle control. So, in-goes a 38t 560 Mammoth motor with a smaller pinion, now it wants to tip back more when climbing instead of spinning the tires....so now it needs more weight upfront. Hahaha
      It'll eventually stop. Hahaha

    If it was in line with my other 1/10 scale rigs I'd own one already. But it don't fit my scale lay out or my other rigs. It's a shame because it's cool.

    • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108
      @tomlucasrccrawlers9108  3 месяца назад

      I totally get that.
      Myself, I like a true 1/10th size. Most rigs are 1/9-ish. All the popular rigs like Axial, Element, Redcat....they're 1/9. Well, except Elements Suzuki Samurai, it's between 1/7 & 1/8th. My Cross tow truck is 1/8th.
      A Clodbuster & Blackfoot body, which I grew up on is a true 1/10(1/10.3, or something like that).
      Again, I agree with you. It just looks better having all the same scale & flipping parts(such as tires) is easier.

  • @alantaylor353
    @alantaylor353 6 месяцев назад

    I only drive my rigs with their diffs unlocked & only lock them when I get stuck.!
    I love it.! 😉 😉 😂 😂
    I much prefer rigs with locking diffs & 2 speeds because I like to drive them fast across open terrain as well as crawl with them.
    I love 1/8 rigs too, I have a Traction Hobby Cragsman & an Absima Bronx(Yikong Bronco) & they're just unstoppable compared to my 1/10 rigs.! 😉
    If you haven't already, give them a look, you won't be disappointed with either, they're both extremely durable 4S rigs.!
    I've got a couple of single speed, locked diff rigs, a Hobao DC1 & an Element Gatekeeper & to be honest I don't really enjoy driving them (too slow, handle terribly & won't turn😂) & I hardly ever use them. (I love the way the Gatekeeper looks, I might try fitting the cage on a trail rig but it's extremely tight inside)
    I don't own a Cross RC but I'm very tempted to get this one.!
    More so after watching this.!! 👍 👍
    Great video mate.!!!
    Subbed & liked & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍

      I agree, I love the options on different gears and lockable diffs. It really does add to the realism to the driving.
      I do wish it had dig. After everything is said and done and I have some miles on this rig, I might try and modify a Dig/transmission into this rig. Or maybe Cross will do it later and I could just swap trannys.
      I'll check out those rigs you mentioned.

    My passion besides RC driving is airbrushing RC bodies,so I'd like to know before I purchase this, is are there any aftermarket bodies yet that would fit this rig? I love the body it comes with but Im not feeling the Tiger decals...

    • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108
      @tomlucasrccrawlers9108  5 месяцев назад +1

      I totally understand that.
      In the near future, I'll be slightly changing the color , but obviously painting it from the outside.
      I've seen the same body, unpainted from Aliexpress, but it's not cheap.
      As for size, they are BIG. Smaller than an SCX6 but smaller than the Pro-Line K10 body on my TRX4 "Killer Wasp.
      Unfortunately, no, I haven't seen any other body that will fit the Wrecker besides other Cross 1/8 Emo X models.

    Thanks for all the great vids! Can you give me an honest answer, is it worth the wait and the $$$? Been eying it up for a while, and hesitant pull the trigger on it. Have you broken anything yet? If so, how is parts support for this rig?

    • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108
      @tomlucasrccrawlers9108  Месяц назад +1

      Yes. It's worth it. I'd buy this over a TRX4. It's very similar to a TRX4, just much more. Honestly, only upgrades it needs is the motor/esc/steering servo of your choice.
      Get a Fusion, any of them, get a stronger steering servo, and you're done.
      You could ad some brass stuff to the front and star cut the foams if you want.
      The stock tires are really good.
      You could even go cheaper with a Hobbywing 1080 and a Holmes-Hobbies TorqueMasters 550 motor...however, it's a heavy truck, so a brushless is best.
      I love outrunner motors because of the crazy torque-density. I went with a 1950kv 540-L Revolver and a AM32 80A Ryino esc. It has everything. Another option is a 4274S from Holmes-Hobbies if they are in stock and pair it with a Mamba X.
      Hobbywing also has a new motor combo that big AND it has FOC which would be awesome.
      Hope this helps. Enjoy.

      @applefordguy76 First-off, congratulations on the new Tow-Truck. That is awesome, and I hope you have a ton of fun with it.
      Thank you. Appreciate the feedback and views.
      No, Sir...I didn't touch the shocks. They are a piece of art and work really well.
      I have more planned for the Emo X3 Tow-Truck, I've just been busy, a little burned out, and I had a long and much needed vacation. Now I'm getting about 10 rigs ready for Pro-Line By The Fire this coming September.
      Future plans are a custom front bumper or modify the stock one to fit a very strong servo winch, try to increase the efficiency of the tow winch by replacing the winch controller or tow winch or both.
      Much later, I might play with a 1/8th motor or a single speed transmission with a DIG or both.
      Currently, I'm putting the stock tires back on with tuned foams inside. Stock tires really are that good.

  • @spencertidd
    @spencertidd 6 месяцев назад

    One thing I wish CrossRC would do is to stop using mini servos for shift/difflock etc. there's plenty of room for a standard servo, even on their 1/10 trucks. If you need a replacement, they cost more and getting something waterproof means you have to spend a fortune just for a shift or difflock servo...

    • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108
      @tomlucasrccrawlers9108  6 месяцев назад

      I get that. They are an odd size servo from my glances. Looks bigger than a typical micro but smaller than standard. I should compare them.

    • @spencertidd
      @spencertidd 6 месяцев назад

      @@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 They're defined as "mini" servos... CrossRC's part number is S011M, AGFRC make some in that size, but to get a waterproof one it's about $85 at the cheapest. I have a few CrossRC trucks and they all use them... They're not that much smaller than a standard which is what makes it frustrating. I might look at trying to create some kind of adapter to allow use of a standard servo... Nice video by the way - I didn't mention that in my original comment.

    • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108
      @tomlucasrccrawlers9108  6 месяцев назад +1

      That's not cheap at all. The NSDRC Micro's I like to use are super strong, can handle 8.4 volts and make 165oz...plenty for any shifting or mini crawler at $59. I'd probably make one of those work for me before spending $85+.

    Do you want...Front lock vs. rear lock?
    It depends on your goal.
    Do you want oversteer or understeer?
    Generally speaking,.if you want oversteer... lock the rear differential.
    If you want to corner the apex like an F1 driver,...
    Open diffs are for you.

    Who cares really ? Most manufacturers lately aren’t making their trucks to scale that they say they are. The tow truck looks awesome , I’d like to pick one up. I don’t think I’ve seen my local hobby shop carry this brand , probably have to order it

    • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108

      Alot of hobbiest care about the size, mostly because it won't fit-in with their other rigs.
      Also, people like to know what the actual size is before they order one online.
      If you get one, you won't be disappointed. It's a great looking rig.
      Obviously if you've been in the hobby a long time, you're going to be picky on the electronics such as the motor and servo. But that's what the hobby is about, you change what you want, keep what you want.
