Eastern Sierra Ski Trip
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.Год назад
Storm after storm pummeled the Sierra this winter dropping almost 3 times the normal amount of snow. By April, the sun came out transforming it all to perfect corn and I decided to make the pilgrimage, like many other friends. This video highlights five awesome days of skiing around Bishop, California in the Eastern Sierra: - 4/19: Mount Emerson N Couloir Wahoo Gully with Nick B and Pat. 12.5 m...
Mount Shuksan Summit Ski + NW Couloir
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.Год назад
In mid March, conditions lined up perfectly for Nate, Matthew, and I to ski Mount Shuksan. From Sunday to Monday, Baker received 2-3ft of snow followed by calm, clear weather. A couple avalanche accidents on the Shuksan Arm and Slate Mountain on Tuesday and Wednesday gave us reason to be cautious. We had originally planned to ski Shuksan on Thursday but decided to push our trip to Friday to giv...

In early March, Tai, Tyler, David, Danika, Keenan, Nicole, Cam, and I spent 5 days skiing out of the Cornucopia yurt in the Southern Wallowas. Conditions were generally stormy with excellent powder and a few gorgeous sun breaks. Thanks Tai and Tyler for the footage and some great skiing! Music: We Are Your Friends - Justice and Simian

Planned for a full value day in the Tetons with Nate and Matthew but strong winds and rapid warming made us reconsider our plans and seek out sheltered powder instead. Still a beautiful and awesome day!

Ski Mountaineering in Peru's Cordillera Blanca: Yanapaccha, Vallunaraju, Pisco, Ishinca

In June 2022, Thomas and I took the School for International Expedition Training's 12-day high-altitude ski mountaineering course in the Cordillera Blanca led by Josh Beckner. We flew into Lima and then took a bus to Huaraz where we stayed for a week to acclimate. We hiked up to Yanapaccha base camp and spent several more days acclimating and practicing skills on the glacier. Once acclimated, w...
Skiing Mont Dolent: Border of France, Italy, and Switzerland

Nate, Zack, and I drove from Chamonix to La Fouly and started hiking in the early afternoon. Snow coverage was spotty until around Léchère Dessus. We continued up through Petit Col Ferret to the Bivacco Fiorio which was totally empty. After a warm night in the hut we started at around 7am and skinned up to the summit block. We brought our skis to the summit but the final section was too steep, ...
Skiing Mont Blanc North Face from Chamonix

After watching the weather forecast all morning, Nate and I finally decided to go for Mont Blanc and left our apartment in Chamonix Sud at 1pm. We hiked up past the entrance of the Mont Blanc Tunnel to La Para and put our skis on at about 1,800m (6,000ft). We followed the path of the old tram up to Gare des Glaciers and traversed to the Glacier des Bossons. After a sketchy crossing of La Joncti...
Skiing Austria: Brennkogel, Riepenwand, Ruderhofspitze

Some lines from a few weeks of skiing in Austria in late February-early March 2022. After a few weeks of skiing in Arlberg and Kitzbühel I went to Heiligenblut, a tiny town in Carinthia in Southern Austria. Heiligenblut sits at the base of Austria's highest mountain: the Großglockner. Storms with extreme wind but little snow made the skiing difficult but one afternoon the winds died down and I ...

Alta Preseason Skiing: Main Chute, Little Chute, High Boy

This fall in Utah, the first snow fell on October 8 and continuous storms brought over 5 feet of snow to the upper reaches of Little Cottonwood Canyon by the end of the month. It was the snowiest October in the past decade by a wide margin. November came in warm and dry, melting snow off all but the highest North-facing terrain. Fortunately, Alta is open to uphill travel for most of the fall an...
Climbing West McMillan Spire in a Day
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.2 года назад
Matthew and I climbed West McMillan Spire, the most accessible peak in the incredibly inaccessible Picket Range of the North Cascades. We started at 6:30am from the Upper Goodell Creek Group Campground just outside of Newhalem and ran about 4 miles along Goodell Creek. Then, a steep 4,000' climb through the rainforest and a long traverse along heather benches with plenty of late-season hucklebe...

Hello Lane I congratulate you on climbing Mont Blanc. Thank you for the interesting and informative film about Mont Blanc. I wish you great mountain tours. With alpine greetings Raphael Wellig
Amazing video! Planning on going here this season and hoping to get some good ski trips in!
Lugar maravilhosa. Video muito bom. Parabens hermanos...
Nice video, thanks! One question, what date was your ascent? I want to do it this year as well but not sure when to go exactly :)
Whoa! Different level. Very impressive
This video is gonna be on repeat till the spring corn arrives this year! Epic lines guys
Was this in little switzerland or which zone
Was this entire video shot in Rendl? The ending suggest that at least some of the parts were shot in Rendl.
Nice lines and skiing
la musique horrible
strong work
Thank you for the video! I don't know if I have the ambition to get there myself, so it is terrific to have good films so I can travel there in my mind!
That’s some fruity hand placement on your poles
Take my knees!
thumbs up, I'm 64 soon, but I would go! no mountaineering skills however might of snuck by on this one..Great video and tunes
Amazing, Amazing! So impressive. 너무 놀라서 말이 안나오네요. 정말 멋져요!
Incredibly dope, this is a dream goal of mine and to see it skied so well in high def bravo
Can you share your gps trek?
Looks like a wonderful day. Great music selection. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic video, first location, glad I wasn’t there. Second, much better. Third and fourth location are OK but a lot of work. Glad you did it!
You old mountain goat you!
Such Happy Music and people
You guys are animals.
Sick AF
Looks like quite the adventure. I noticed one of you using batons. I have been thinking about getting a set myself (Folkrm Wyeast). Is it hard to get used to having a portion of the grip above your hands on the downhill? And how much longer of a pole of you use than you would for alpine
Yeah I used to use them but don't anymore. The long grip is nice but the extra length is annoying when skiing
When was this? Looks like you scored.
May 5-12 this year. Yeah definitely got lucky with the weather!
Nuts the difference when We were there april 17th. Good score
Rad
Nice cordillera blanca
Does that route take you near Goldmyer hot springs.
No, stays more on the ridge
Frickin A that’s a lot of Knar descents way to go!
This is super cool. Nice work aaasen and osean.
Thanks lilb!
Rad video, looks like a sick trip!
Keep the good work! Awesome footage!
Appreciate you labeling the surrounding peaks. Great soundtrack! The ending was abrupt and disturbing

average radiohead listeners hahaa nice vid
Truly phenomenal video
Looks big!
Keeps getting better and better! You really know how to make someone jelly
Impeccable skiing and great Bowie track to boot.
Incredible! Not just the skiing but filming too
Hei, nice video and Tour. For future videos, please provide infos vertical drop and starting altitude.😊
Wonderful!!
Epic trip
Impressive images !!
The skiing was so good! Snow is going to be around for awhile which is dope for us, but I feel sorry for those thru hikers. Maybe they would ski tour the sierra section
Yeah it's going to be a long time before the PCT melts out!
What did you film this on?
Mix of Sony RX100 VII, GoPro Hero 10, and iPhone. I usually use a Sony A7C as well but decided not to bring it on this trip
Looks like an amazing day! I skied the White Salmon Glacier last week too, Shuksan is such a beautiful mountain. Also FYI I think you might have mislabeled the hourglass, it's a snow feature not a summit, but to be fair it is mislabeled on most maps too
Ah yeah you're right, I guess it's just Point 7935 on USGS. That peak is cool enough to deserve a name!
Beautifully done
Welcome back to Washington!
Thanks! I was only back for a week but I'll be back again mid May!
