Were is this "other thermistor" and is there a chance to repair it ??? I hope you will guide me.

There’s no need to modify the programmer-it’s already designed to work perfectly, albeit at a slower speed. One key concept to remember is that amperage, not voltage, is what damages ICs. Voltage alone cannot cause harm without sufficient current to back it up. If you had checked the current draw of the programmer during idle and active programming, you’d find it ranges from just 0.5mA to 1mA maximum. Such low current levels are incapable of causing damage. Additionally, the so-called "voltage mod" is entirely unnecessary. The programmer is designed to automatically adjust the voltage according to the specifications of the IC you select. For those working with 1.8V BIOS ICs, the proper solution is to use the appropriate adapter to step down the voltage-not because of any risk of damage, but because a stable signal is required for reliable read/write operations. Attempting to program a 1.8V IC at 3.3V will lead to signal instability, not physical damage. Unfortunately, many people have implemented this pointless voltage mod, spreading misinformation and encouraging others to follow suit. This programmer is an excellent tool for beginners and has served countless users well before upgrading to faster, more advanced, and expensive tools. Modifications to it are unnecessary and counterproductive.

First Hello from Sweden and thanks for an interesting video!, I find you when my Y530 suddenly stopped working in the battery (92% and not changing, to 100%), it only boot up with the adapter plugged in. So not the same issue but the same as the title 😂😢😅 maybe charger issue or battery 🤔

There are a lot of videos repeating the claim about the CH341A programmer requiring fixing but have you seen Sorin's (Electronics Repair School) video about this? He shows that while the data lines measure 5V at idle, it is only a few microamps, and as soon as communication begins it drops to 3.3V so no modification is required. I personally left mine unmodified after watching his video and have had zero issues flashing many BIOS chips.

I have similar Asus Zenbook laptop which has no power and no lights on PC but power supply is good. It's useful to know what is the likely cause, unfortunately my electronics knowledge/ability is restricted to soldering large items not these micro components. Great shame their isn't a chap like you near me in Portugal, my local IT shop quoted me minimum €200 cost to send it off and have it assessed by a company! Very interesting video, thank you.👍👍👍

so i am new to this and i was trying to follow along step by step and didn't realize i needed the 1.8v adapter for my chip. i put the clip on and detected the chip through the 3.3v. i didn't not start to read the chip or anything past that point. would my chip be damaged just from that and how would i test it to be sure?

Although you mentioned the pin orientation of pin 1 as upper left. It would have been nice to pinpoint it for novices. Perhaps the orientation of the adapters on board. Otherwise good.

Hey! I have a pretty rare board with this controller that I have already replaced but needs programming. Would you lend your miniprog3 to hungary? Or could I send the board to you? I am yet to source the firmware, i am planning to read it form another board if it's not in the bios firmware update file.

So let's say I have a bricked MB and reprogram the IC with NeoProgrammer. 1. Is it the normal BIOS Update file I get from the manufacturers website or is it another one? 2. And let's say the chip has a capacity of 128 Megabytes but the BIOS file is much much smaller. Is this a problem or will there inevitably be free space left after flashing? Thank you in advance Sir!

The laptop I am watching this video is also an Acer Nitro 5. It is a few years old but has not had problems apart from no sound from the speakers or the audio jack. Not a problem for me as I use Bluetooth headphones. It runs pretty hot, always has done from new, and keeps my hands toasty warm in winter.
