Hey Steve, cleaning wasn't an option since the issue was intermittent. so it was more or less impossible to test in an economical way after that. There was the advantage that the customer came in with the replacement board in the other hand. So fortunately I didn't had to decide what to do. Many greetings
Why not replace the thumb-stick potentiometer itself instead of the more expensive board replacement? I guess if money is no object or profit margin doesn’t matter then go for easy.
