My brother started suffering from delusional disorder a few years ago and we were told that it is difficult to treat but sometimes a person will work themselves out of the delusional, like only they hold the key to unlock themselves. As of mow my brother has talked about his delusions in about three year and his demeanor seems to be back to normal. I don’t bring up the past and never ask him what he was thinking a couple years ago. I thank god that he appears to be over it or at least in control of his thoughts

I was diagnosed with stimulant-induced psychosis from long-term use of stimulants due to my ADHD treatment. Unfortunately it's a year later since it started, and I was off all medications for 2.5 months to see how I'd respond. Still extremely paranoid about bugs, food being poisoned, being watched, being tested by everyone (suspicious of everyone), now starting to think I'm hearing things. It's progressively getting worse and I had no psychiatric history before this other than anxiety and depression. However, I was overly fearful as a child - used to hide behind the couch during thunder storms, hid with my fish in the bathroom basement when there was a tornado warning once, was always terrified of robbers, intruders and break-ins, and had some trauma related to lice when my mom shaved my twin sister's head from it. Had some trauma growing up but I chose to focus on the good memories. In 4th year university after 2.5 years of college, and I am quite a productive yet scatter-brained individual. Becoming increasingly paranoid still though. Any tips on what this would mean given the circumstances (ie. High functioning yet paranoid individual). I'm also becoming increasingly reclusive and concerned over everything :/

I remember from my youth, that I once had the chance to take as much amphetamine, as I wanted. I took it until I had not been sleeping for three nights. When the morning then came I started to hear the voices of people outside in the yard and the streets outside the house, and they were talking about me! I knew it was impossible for me to hear what people outside were saying, I understood that I was going delusional from the drug, so I stopped taking more of the it. I have never been really "psychotic", i.e. believed in my own delusions, so far. With stimulant drugs you can always stop the use! I have heard from "speed freaks" that it is the psychotic symptoms that are the real fun! So, I don't think it's the same thing as what is referred to as "schizophrenia" although it has some of the same symptoms.

Hadnt heard of this but I have two people close to me that developed psychosis after a short while on ssris, or so it seemed to me. One , my dad, was lucky and his doc took him off after dosing then upping the dose and making things loads worse ( he was sectioned after a protracted psychotic episode) .After months in an elderly psych unit he came out shaken but ok , then a small dose of snri seemed to work for him. The other , my neighbour , went increasingly manic after ssris for 6 months , sectioned , diagnosed with sz type issue and put on max dose of seroquel . I am not sure that he was anything more than very miserable to start with . He remained on ssri and seroquel til his untimely death in 2017. I have since read of this fast track to heavy meds occuring in people with no diagnosed mh condition up until a year or so previously. Mild depression > adverse reaction to ssri > psychosis > hospitalisation > sz / bp diagnosis > antipsychotics . 😢

This is great info . All ganja evangelist types should take note . I have two friends who just shouldn't smoke at all . Both completely lose it on pot . I used to go raving with one friend a math teacher in a private school and a really lovely guy. He can take most drugs , K , mdma, LSD etc on a recreational basis and he is absolutely fine, but one puff on a joint and everything changes. He was on holiday once and for some reason (?) thought the local bush weed might not send him crazy ...not at all...his mates ,me included had to work out how to get someone out of a psychiatric unit in Asia. I need no convincing that some people have a genetic predisposition towards cannabis psychosis

Gluten (particularly gliadin, a gluten peptide) essentially acts as a neurotoxin. It's pure poison for the brain. I didn't have any intestinal problems at all, but I struggled with severe brain fog, memory issues, depression with anhedonia and lack of motivation, drowsiness, fatigue, light sensitivity and a nagging occipital pain that was resistant to all types of painkillers including opioids. I slept 14 hours a day and could barely get out of bed. I started experimenting on myself with different medications in desperate search of relief. Antidepressants like bupropion and amisulpride have given me some help with motivation by increasing dopamine and norepinephrine and I have been able to get rid of nape pain thanks to acetazolamide which lowers cerebrospinal fluid pressure. But no one was 100% effective, it was like taking a daily dose of poison with one hand while trying different antidotes with the other one without knowing which poison it was. I was on the verge of getting some irreversible MAOI, the most powerful antidepressant medications and wanted also try high doses of IV steroids (dexamethasone) when the turning point was the appearance of persistent dyshidrotic eczema which made me suspect some type of food intolerance/allergy. I used a drastic method: fasting! Only water and electrolytes for 3 days. Eczema gone! But not only that! I felt less tired with less need for sleep and more energy! You wouldn't think so for someone who hasn't eaten for 3 days! It was clear that the poison was in the food and it didn't take long to figure out that it was gluten! Following a strict gluten free diet all symptoms improved day after day.....

The ONLY time I ever Had a seizure, my father and Best friend we're all smoking, my dad has at least been smoking 50 of his 70 years I'm not 100% sure when he started, also my friend comes from a family of parents smokers, an occasionally this would most likely happen when I'm going to sleep and it would almost feel like I'm falling but I call it drifting, I would feel my body started I would call it a tingling sensation all over, could fight it but also I kind of how to induce, and get it over with, I've had these moments before around people and they just didn't know because there was not a like a extreme physical I was in a position and I just got locked into that position but when the whole thing was over they both were looking at me and my friend goes I think you just had a seizure, this is when I was still using combustion style tobacco products and tobacco-based nicotine, that's when I would have shaky hands too, I can say I haven't had those seizure situation or case of the shaky hands like that since 2019 but this is when I fully switched my tobacco use and my THC use from combustion to vaporization when I would Kris Kross the different styles of smoking I would end up having a scratchy throat or respiratory symptoms after I would like to warn people about the difference I do know that I'm I'm still at risks, but just as people get addicted needles I'm addicted to blowing smoke, cloud chasing, and and you can also call this smoking sensation, I tried to avoid coughing, but that's when I had a high tolerance, and practice there is a science to it because you can change the temperature on a electric dab rig and you don't want to do extremely hot dab and you don't want it to be too little either but effectively I would only have to smoke three times a day breakfast lunch and dinner I would do like the smaller vape pens in public or a nectar collector style I can't recommend to everyone to go this route but if you are going to inhale, why would you want plant material and other potential cutting agents if the whole purpose is THC

A lot had to do with my doctor too and that I was paranoid to actually tell him that I for 3 month straight was stuck in my room for 12h-ish a day with dystonia because I didn't know what it was. He ruined my 21 year or this earth and I will never get it back. I wish that he will get this side effect someday too so he knows how horrible it is.

Thank you for this video sir. I am diagnosed with persecutorial delusional disorder. I was kicked out of the military and this has made me ineligible for a lot of jobs. I never had an outburst with anyone at work and I never messed anything major up. It's unfortunate the stigma that comes with this since some of us are functioning. I don't want to apply for disability through the VA but it has made my life so hard

It seems I have malware in my phone and someone thinks it’s funny to keep putting this kind of content into my account. Ha ha. Not so funny to joke around.
