Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. You are very talented in both teaching and playing. I learn so much from your videos. Absolutely excellent! ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much! I am delighted that my videos are helpful. I was lucky to have great teachers and I see it as my mission to pass on what I learnt.
It’s extremely grateful to you for sharing your invaluable knowledge and experience with us! Thank you so much!
Thank you! It makes me very happy that my videos are helpful.
I find that without a SR the left arm gets tired fast. Is this normal and something that gets better over time?
Yes, your muscles have a bit more work to do without a SR. Just make sure you take enough breaks, as soon as you have built up your muscles your arm won't get tired so quickly.
@@vivolin6521 Thank you so much! ❤
😊😊
Excellent advice. Thanks.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for your excellent explanation and sharing your knowledge!
You're welcome! I am glad you find it helpful.
I want to express my deep gratitude to your for the generous instruction that you provide through your video lessons. I can honestly say that they have greatly enhanced my ability and overall enjoyment of playing. I have taken private lessons from a very experienced and capable teacher for 10 years and made sure and gradual progress but your instruction, particularly the Sevcik opus 3 series, have made a world of difference in my bowing technique. In addition the practice strategies that you impart are invaluable to me. The journey to violin mastery is a long and challenging one and I want to thank you again for your guidance. To be a musician takes a special talent but the ability to teach music effectively takes a different sort of talent that is perhaps even more rare. Both of those talents you definitely possess and you are changing and enhancing lives with them. Brava!
Thank you so much! It fills me with joy to read that my videos are helping peoole improve their violinplaying. We are playing such a difficult instrument, being able to help is very meaningful to me. Best of luck and joy for your violinplaying!
🙏🙏🙏🌹
Thanks for this lesson on improving one's tonal quality by breaking the spiccato movements of the right hand fingers. I think my own technique of spiccato is clumsy and stff.❤
Thank you! Glad you find this helpful. You might find you can relax more easily once you get a feeling for allowing the bow to bounce rather than making it bounce.
@@vivolin6521 Thats what I am hoping for . I run through the MOTO PERPETUO by Paganini as part of my warm up and I've become complacent to the right hand fingers over the years.
How do I keep my bow should leveled?
Thank you very much 🌹
Goodtutorial
Thank you!
сева это ты?
It is very funny!
This is actually how Itzhak Perman plays the Violin, & he does that because he plays sitting down, which is because he got polio when he was 4.
Thank you, my son will start to learn this song.
Thank you for watching. Good luck to your son.
🙏🙏🙏🌹
Thank you
Wow! Thank you for sharing this wonderful and useful video ❤❤❤❤❤. Since I have been working in a university as a lecturer, I was stressed about my work. After a whole day teaching, the only thing I can do is dump to my bed. Everyday I found myself always struggling how to maintain the same amount time as I used to. But just happen one day in a week, I couldn’t do it due to my tired legs. Really a challenging issue to have the balance of the time😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
This is what we all struggle with. It is so hard to find enough time to practice, I have the same difficulties. Try, if you can, to do five minutes. You will feel much better and after a few weeks you will notice that you are improving. And sit down to practice if you are tired. 😊
@@vivolin6521 Thank you for sharing your experiences and opinions. All the best🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
At min 6.35 you suggest to have a long note at the ends. Why? Can i do the whole bow from extreme frog to every end and back as well?
Yes, sure you can. In repertoire we try to avoid staccato at the extreme frog because it is difficult to get it to sound good and to get it fast but practicing it there is fine.🙂
@@vivolin6521 After only 2 days doing this. Bowing, sound, control got so much better. Ricochet and this are the best bowing exercises you thought me. Thank you so much. i guess you do this every session?
That is great! Thank you for sharing this. It makes me very happy. If you like you can also practice this with the metronome, 4 notes to a beat and increase the metronome speed bit by bit over time. Staccato teaches so many things at once, that is why I like it so much. Yes, in one way or another I do staccato every session.
@@vivolin6521 Did each off beat at tempo 60. 3rd day (plus Ricochet): Bowing feels like melted butter. Bow changes feel so much more controlled at the tip. Amazing!
That is so nice! The speed is not really important, you can speed it up but only if you don't loose quality. Staccato really teaches bow control and I also find it fun aswell.
Good to have u back. What's the reason one starts with big movement and than smaller onces ( which u did not show in the video). Why not start with small sections and go into big onces?
Thanks! And thank you for the question! For warming up I have found it more effective to start with large movements to expand the range of motion before going on to the small controlled movements but if you find it better to start with smaller movements that is fine too. It is always best to find out what works best for you.
Great exercises! Thank you for this video.
You're welcome! Glad you like it.

I have been wanting to depend on the tuner but you talked me out of it. Thanks!!
I am very glad about that! I know it is tempting but training your ear is better! Best of luck to you!
Love it!
Thanks!
Wasn’t specifically looking for this today, I was scouring your videos for help learning basic scales as I keep forgetting them when I’ve been progressing* through my beginner books - but this was great! I love how this follows the same logical approach to actually listening and focusing on building blocks. I’ll make this part of my practice routine. Thank you!
Thank you very much! I am so glad you find this helpful and good luck with your violin playing!
managed to do it on all the strings .also D and F. i guess i reached ur beginner lvl. :)

Even though I am a viola player, it helped me because they are almost similar instruments. I think this teacher teaches with great sincerity. It's short, but it has all the key points we need to know. If you already have a teacher, this video will help you review. It was very helpful for me to watch this video after class to learn and practice something more. thank you so much!😊
I love when you do these videos- I add bow work into my practice since watching your videos- they are amazing.

You're welcome! It was an interesting journey😊
Totally love the way you teach this 😊 I got some different instructions for some parts but it's still quite helpful for the martelé. Thank you ❤
This is great but it seems my sheet music is different as to bow technique on some parts ❤
Yes, I know. There is quite a difference in editions. You can't really go wrong in choosing which technique to use. Both sound good.
@@vivolin6521 thank you ☺️ I'm honestly surprised I didn't come across your channel earlier!
Thank you very much!
I'm practicing this one for this week. I noticed that you play it by heart! is it better to do so? if yes I need to spend more than usual on the Mazas etudes.
It is not really necessary to learn etudes by heart. Of course you would benefit from this but you would also benefit from moving on and studying more etudes. I would say, unless you really want to it is not necessary.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. They are extremely helpful for all the strings learners❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for watching! This motivates me so much😊
Yes, he is right about that but I recommend double stops so early in violin training that they do have to be done with out vibrato at first. Especially fifths. They are hard to vibrate without loosing the intonation!
Is vibrato a requirement before one starts 5th. When one starts fresh should on practice this without vibrato? According to Rodney friend " all intervals practiced should be played using vibrato.. it's is not important and can be even damaging to practice with a sound that cannot be used." This frightens me, one does not want to cause damage. Don't understand what he meant. Thanks for the video
